they are cyst-busters. I was on biaxin for that purpose (along with another med to kill the bugs after they came out of the cyst), but had a reaction to it after several months; so the dr switched me to flagyl and a different antibiotic. It's a fair question why the dr would give you two cyst busters. Sounds like a lot. Good luck with the new job!! Sounds like a good one.

ve been taking the medicine for at least 10 or 11 days at 1000 milgrams of each both biaxin and flagyl daily..and should have stop taking them along time ago ..is this common?

Hi all, wondering if you have come across information indicating that flagyl can treat babesia at the same time it's treating Lyme. I understand it's also a antiparasitic, so not sure if that counts. If anyone knows or has heard their LLMD mention this please let me know. I just took my first dose of Flagyl, keeping my fingers crossed that I see some fantastic results!

I noticed a massive difference in my brian fog and fatigue when being on the Biaxin/Flagyl combo. Doxy was good for my muscle twitches. I did have to get an anti-fungal for a yeast infection (even though I take probiotics) Don’t be scared. Be lucky you have a DR that is treating you.

Flagyl and biaxin worked well for my.. doxy, not so much. Plaquenil & Z-Pak is a newer protocol docs are using (well at least up here in canada, everyone knows how ignorant the canadian health care system is towrd lyme).. good luck!

My LLMD is changing my antibiotic treatment to Omnicef and Biaxin for 3 more months. Mainly because he believes Flagyl was responsible for my hormone imbalance and I wasn't able to keep it down since I got the flu. Has anyone been treated with this combination? It's the first time I have hear about it, but I have taken these before for other infections and did just fine. I am hopeful since my CD57 has gone up from 23 to 56. However, my IgM results show more Lyme.

I was on Biaxin alone for 3mos and felt semi normal which for me is great. LLMD added Doxy and it has made all my symptoms come back worse than before. I want to quit the doxy but im told to just ride it out. I am wondering what exactly Doxy helps with? I kno biaxin helps with Bartonella for example. But what does Doxy do exactly for someone with late stage chronic lyme?

On 05/05/08, I took Z-pak, 500Mg of Azithromacin first day, and 250MG for following 4 days for an unrelated sore throte. I decided to go off plaguenil because I am on so many other drugs like Armour Thyroid, Flagyl, and Zithro and the LLMD did not think I needed to be on Plaquenil, but I am sure everyone is different as all Lyme symptoms vary too. I was taking Biaxin 500mg twice a day for a week and then took the rpr two days later. could this affect the results in any way?

If I was infected with any of the above, would an 8 day course of Biaxin resolved these? And yes it was 8 days and not the usual 10 for whatever reason. 2. I've read on this site that most of these STD's resolve themselves within a few months even without treatment, but other medical and government websites specifically say the exact opposite and say only way to get rid of infection is to seek treatment. My new regimen is Mepron, Doxy, Sulfameth/Trimethoprom, Flagyl and Artmisinin. The pulsing schedule is to take all the meds on M, W, F and Flagyl on Th, F for two weeks, then off two weeks, then on etc. My first round/2wks of this regimen didn't make me feel this way, I don't think? I was on it for 2 months and dropped 18 pounds and 3/4 of my hair..... we pulled out what was in the shower drain alone and you could of made a wig out of it pretty much...... the only other symptoms I had while on this medicine apart from the hair loss is that my hands would swell and night......I had excessive bruising all over.....

My testing for lyme is still coming up positive and there were more positive bands and stronger ones than my last test three months ago. He said that the meds I'm currently are on do not treat lyme. After this course of meds, I am switching to Amox & Biaxin to begin treating the lyme. My CD57 shot up from like 20 to 87 though! That is the highest it's been in a long time so that is good news! I was prescribed four azithromycin pills (which i took that night) and 500mg flagyl twice a day for seven days, which i started on Thursday. Since beginning the antibiotics, I have been experiencing white discharge that I was not having prior to taking flagyl. It is very different than a yeast infection. Last week I was diagnosed with a duodenal ulcer and am taking Amoxicillin, Biaxin and Prevacid. I am one week into treatment and feel only marginally better. My question is about stomach tenderness. Is a tender stomach normal with a peptic ulcer? My entire stomach area, from just below my breasts, down to my navel, is very tender to the touch.
