Avatar f tn I'm just curious my husband has been working out and taking vitamins and supplements to help him building up muscle, if I were to become pregnant would that affect the fetus..
Avatar f tn For me, I have found Standard Processing Lab vitamins and supplements to be the best. I can not take any other brand as they are synthetic and these are food grade. Even with these, I have to be careful or they will give me a tummy ache, but, then, so do all supplements, I don't care what kind I take, I get horrific tummy aches from them, this one, at least, is the best for me.
Avatar m tn Determine what your needs are and look at vitamins and supplements for your needs. So if you need immune boosting supplements start there, or if you are interested in improving your memory, or just over all health. You can also get a lot of what you need from foods. If you have access to a good store that sells these products get to know the owner or an employee who is knowledgeable. Explain your needs.
Avatar f tn Does anybody have any suggestions on vitamins that I could get for DH? I'm going to wait a few more months before I make an appointment with an RE, but I feel there is something that we can be doing now to help increase our fertility. I'm currently taking pre-natals, but don't know if I should also be supplementing? Has anybody tried the FertilAid, with any success?
Avatar f tn ve heard of men testing and having no sperm count and then years later tested again with a low sperm count. Look into taking vitamins supplements. I know folic acid is good for reproductive health. Have your testosterone levels tested too. Good luck!
Avatar m tn I have takin mega men from gnc for years and has always made me feel great all day, I never get that afternoon run down feeling unless I forget them. My doc says stay on them because it has the vitamin d3, they seem to be under the impression vitamins help with the rash. On my seventh shot and no rashes. I guess a few people at there office are having trouble with rashes, so my last visit they asked me what I was doing that everyone else was. Don't know but I'm not changing a thing.
Avatar f tn I have always been prepared to spend on supplements but for some reason none of the numerous valerian supps I tried had any effect for me at all & I assumed it was just my biochemistry & gave up. Recently one of Australia's big pharma companies, (who I would never associate with quality), brought out a line of pure herbs with no fillers. i decided to give the valerian one more try & at last I get why people find it helpful.
Avatar f tn It can be effective when used in the short term for boosting the immune system, but for the long term is usually taken by men. Cod liver oil can be useful for dry eyes and other things that fish oil isn't that good for, but if you're taking it as a fish oil then use fish oil. Why are you taking this particular group of supplements?
560272 tn?1311350293 Has anyone tried the supplements for anxiety? From what I've read, it is recommended that people with anxiety take the following: Daily multi/mineral vitamin B-complex (50-100mg) Vitamin C (1,000mg twice daily) Calcium-Magnesium (1,000 mg cal-500 mg mag- ratio) (and then some women who still have periods need extra iron, and also natural progesterone cream) If you have tried this, does it help? Or can you even tell a difference?
Avatar n tn There are many brands out there. Good ones will have NO gluten and NO grains (this includes rice and corn), a good protein source (meat, fish, eggs, tofu, or poultry), green leafy vegetables, sweet potato, berries and some other fruit, fish oil (containing DHA), vitamins, minerals, probiotics, and digestive enzymes. The good food does not have to every single ingredient that I have listed, but will contain many of the ingredients.
Avatar f tn Buy a good book on vitamins and supplements. The above info probably comes from something, but the best way to take vitamins is to spread them out during the day so you don't excrete them all out when you go to the bathroom. I don't know how many of us are disciplined to do that, but that's the best way. It very much depends on what you're taking. By the way, all vitamin supplements are "synthetic," not most.
Avatar n tn Women have a higher demand for iron then men due to monthly menstrual flow. There are 2 types of iron in our food sources, Heme iron and Non-Heme iron. Heme iron is from animal sources and Non-Heme is plant sources. Non-Heme iron has more iron then Heme iron , however, it does not absorbed well into our bodies so it is important to eat foods with Vitamin C and Heme iron foods to enhance absorption.
Avatar f tn ANyone take any special supplements such as vitamins or mineral or other supplements to relieve the CFS symptoms. I currently take amino acid herbs and vitamin d3.
Avatar f tn Neuros do urge vitamin D, but the reason they don't recommend any other supplements, diets, etc., is that none have been shown to be effective. If something had, we'd all be on it. Eating a healthful diet overall, getting some exercise if possible, and generally taking good care of oneself are good for MSers and good for all. Everything in moderation, including moderation.
Avatar f tn What kind of specialist is best to see to find out which supplements would be best for me to take?
Avatar f tn What other supplements/vitamins are you ladies taking or suggest to take besides prenatals? !
Avatar n tn You stated that you were having muscle problems, are you eating enough potassium foods (oranges, orange juice, potatoes, bananas, etc)? Suggest you see your MD if the muscle issues continue. The best source for all vitamins and minerals are our foods. Fresh fruits and vegetables are the best sources. You get the needed vitamins and minerals and the additional fiber benefit too.
Avatar m tn Vitamin B6 is found naturally in our foods, however, B6 supplements are the main reason for toxicity of vitamin B6. Long term (2+ years) supplementation of 500-5,000mg/day will result in medical issues, such as neuropathy which maybe reversible with discontinuing the supplement and lowering high B6 foods. The recommended daily dose is 1.3mg for men & women ages 19-50 and 1.7 for men >50 years old.

935493 tn?1248796864 C occasionally. I did some research on what vitamins and minerals were good for inflammation and started this in 2005. Recently I've had so many inflammatory conditions show up and MS..that I can't say what is working or what is not. My doctors think that what I am taking is just fine. Personally I think that my recent conditions are a result from the stress during the winter trying to take care of a very difficult mother.
1126418 tn?1326165992 I have been on the Best Bet Diet for nearly two years now. I have not been diagnosed but have brain lesions. Radiologist said MS but Neurologist not sure. So I am in limbo. As well as cutting out wheat, gluten, dairy, eggs, legumes and yeast, I take a multivitamin, D3, B12, Co Enzyme Q10, Gingko Biloba, and Alpha-Lipoic Acid and Acidiphilus.
Avatar f tn Doctors are mostly afraid of all the 'fillers' in vitamins. They are ok for normal people but are toxic for Cirrhotics. As stated it's a case by case thing. Check with your doc.
