Avatar m tn Widely available OTC bactericidal products containing benzoyl peroxide may be used in mild to moderate acne. The gel or cream containing benzoyl peroxide is rubbed, twice daily, into the pores over the affected region. Oral antibiotics used to treat acne include erythromycin or one of the tetracycline antibiotics, but this is required only in severe cases. Apart from this ,keep skin clean. apply non-oil based moisturizers to prevent dryness of skin and avoid stress. ref:http://en.wikipedia.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with ulcerative proctitis (in December 2007) and have recently be suffering with acne on my face (chin/ mouth area). I have been given Acuatim cream to use twice a day, and have been told that I should take oral antibiotics if the cream doesn`t work. Every acne antibiotic I review on the neet suggests that they can cause coltis (pseudomembranous?), so I am concernd as to what oral medication I can take? Any other colitis sufferers out there taking oral acne treatment?
Avatar f tn Hi there, based on my experience ******* oil or cocounut oil on a hot day is the best moisturizer I would recommend. I used it from the very beginning till the today and thank God I don't have any. I did try bio oil and other anti-stretchmark cream trust me ,it doesn't really work. Key point is , keep your tummy moisturIse at all time. Especially when you about to go to bed, it helps.
Avatar n tn So I went to see a doctor and he told me its a typical case of acne, and gave me a antibacterial soap and cream to use. This, in my opinion, only made things worse. I used to cry when i used the cream cause it stung like crazy and the soap would only make things worse. So i went back 3 weeks later and he gave me birth control and told me to come back in a month. A month passed and nothing changed, so i went to a new doctor.
Avatar n tn This all started with a good old fashioned case of acne on the inner hip back in January...I live in an exceptionally cold winter climate (temps of 20 to 30 below F are not uncommon) and those first few weeks trying to find clothing that was soft enough to not irritate the acne was a challenge to say the least. Initially I thought it was jock itch and probably put way too much Lamisil (spray + cream) on the area, including the groin fold.

Avoid picking, harsh scrubbing, and abrasive treatments unless prescribed by a dermatologist during this period. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing and if you have any additional queries.

Avatar m tn Acne is caused by high levels of androgens (hormones) common in teenagers and people in their 20s. Androgens stimulate the oil glands in the skin. Bacteria on the skin feeds off this excess oil, blocking the pores and resulting in acne. The best way to treat this is with a course of oral antibiotics such as Oxytetracycline to kill acne-causing bacteria. In addition use a topical retinoid cream called Differin (adapalene) which is very good at clearing up the redness and soreness.
Avatar n tn No it's not acne, it does not have a head or a bump and the clear liquid that comes out once in a while is not something from acne its almost like a blister liquid but no bump or head, plus there is only about 4 of them that come out. I just am not sure what treatments I should look into or what this is.
10678677 tn?1413254266 I cant help you but i can share in your pain! I havent had acne since my teens and i am now 30 but boy is it showing its ugly face! I dont ever wear foundation or even a tinted moisturizer and it is still acting up. Best advice i can give is "this too shall pass" hopefully your skin clears up for you.
Avatar m tn ve read various reviews on using hydrocortisone cream for the face with people stating it thins out your skin and worsens acne symptoms. I feel the Clindamycin is acceptable, but I am wondering if it is safe to use the hydrocortisone cream or if I should substitute it with desonide OR just skip those two ointments altogether? I don't mind using Differin by itself if it comes down to it.
Avatar f tn local treatment with azelaic acid, salicylic acid, topical retinoids, benzoyl peroxide. Mild papulo-pustular (inflammatory) acne: benzoyl peroxide or topical retinoids, topical antibiotics (such as erythromycin). Moderate inflammatory acne: benzoyl peroxide or topical retinoids combined with oral antibiotics (tetracyclines). Isotretinoin is an option.
