Benzaclin topical gel side effects

Common Questions and Answers about Benzaclin topical gel side effects

benzaclin

Avatar m tn The skin on my cheeks seems to be dry right now because of the topical stuff from my dermatologist (retin-a micro gel, used in the morning and left on till night, and benzaclin gel used at night and left on till morning) but normally it feels pretty smooth and kind of soft but also kind of dry. My forehead feels scaly-ish which is probably because of all the imperfections on it but in the summer it is pretty oily and right now in the winter is feels dry and scaly. My jawline is pretty average.
Avatar m tn I've recently went to the doctor and was prescribed Doxycycline and Benzaclin a topical gel which consists of 1% clindamycin and 5% Benzoyl Peroxide it seems that its getting better, I just wanted to know what your opinion was on this?
Avatar n tn The treatment that you have been prescribed is correct. If you are having any side effects then get the antibiotics changed and even oral antibiotics can be added. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar n tn Dermatologists have found the most effective topical prescription gel to be Differin especially when used in conjunction with oral antibiotics or an anti-androgen contraceptive pill like Diane35 (females only). Also check out our Acne forum.
1840891 tn?1431547793 I would love to hear from anyone who can offer some info such as how most hepatologists feel about the use of this gel (or any other topical NSAID) in cirrhotics. I just have this lingering doubt that my hepatologist tends to be a little bit too relaxed about some things – it does seem to take quite a lot to actually alarm him. Thanks!
Avatar m tn Hi everybody, Would anyone be so kind to share his/her knowledge on how the side effects of topical corticosteroids, namely that of swelling/edema in subcutaneous tissue, as well as dilation of superficial blood vessels(capillaries), develop. I have developed these side effects from usage of two different corticosteroids for different skin problems.
Avatar f tn Aloe vera juice is quite different from topical gel versions, so make sure the label specifies use as a dietary supplement or juice. Supplements aren't put through the same rigorous testing as drugs, so safety levels remain unknown; consumption may cause interaction with other items like drugs, herbs or foods, according to the American Cancer Society.
Avatar m tn I had seborrheic dermatitis for 7 years now and because of that i had to use Corticosteroid , but unfortunately i did not know about the side effects of that and i used it on the scalp and bear for many years , now that i am 31 i was diagnosed with rosacea, i was wondering can this be steroid induce rosacea and if yes would it go away.
Avatar f tn I haverecently gone to my primary physician and dermatologist and they tell me it is acne and prescribed benzaclin/ Atralin and sumaxin. Benzaclin seemed to work at first, but now it seems to make my breakouts worse. The other two prescriptions just dont seem to work at all. What could this be?Herpes? I do have herpes, but my doctor tells me it should only be on the lip (I have it next to the lip) it's not noticeable at all.
Avatar f tn Yes she prescribed me metronidazole topical gel. I stopped using it because it was irritating my skin and it was drying it out, although I read that it is a common side effect of using the gel. It also says that I wouldn’t see results until around the 8 week mark but I haven’t consistently used it for that long so I don’t know if it helps my rosacea. Should I start using it again??
Avatar m tn He later told me he is on testosterone therapy. Apparently he applies a topical gel to his shoulder area. I am 18 wks pregnant and overly anxious about my baby's health. I googled the subject and everything I found said it can be very harmful to the baby and if pregnant woman comes into contact with the gel it is important to wash it right off. I probably did not get any of the gel on my skin, but assuming I did, how dangerous is it? I mean...one time...small amount...

Avatar n tn Are there any side effects with this disease other than the outbreaks? I'm having an issue with vaginal lubrication and I was diagnosed 3 years ago. And I'm wondering if this virus could be the reason.
230262 tn?1316645934 I was just given Voltaren Gel(diclofenac sodium topical get 1%) for my neck pain(spinal cord nerve damage) and muscle spasms in my shoulders. I've been using it for the past few days and it has worked wonders for the pain in my shoulders. It comes in pill form too and it is geared for arthritis and pain. I was surprised how quickly it reduced my shoulder pain.
874521 tn?1424116797 rarely antihistamines can cause paradoxical excitement, so discontinue them if side effects occur. Topical benadryl or hydrocortisone cream can also be tried on localized areas of skin inflammation, but since cats groom themselves, topical products may not be particularly helpful.
