Avatar f tn I can feel the asthma attacks coming on most of the time and can lessen the symtpoms somewhat with nebulizer, rescue inhaler and cough medicine. But there are times when I started violently coughing for no apparent reason. Air travel worsens my symptoms which is difficult since I have to travel frequently for my job. I have had pulmonary function tests that indicate asthma, CT Scans essentially are normal except for a 4cm lesion that has not changed.
1205076 tn?1310609559 I also take Effexor XR, Wellbutrin, Lopid, tessalon perle, sonata, robaxin, nexium (for 3 months now), benicar, toprol XR, Ultram, Lyrica, aspirin, I cannot take NSAIDs anymore due to an acute kidney failure 2 years ago. I tell you all of the background so you will know all the variables. I have a sleep study on Mar 1, but I was hoping to hear a suggestion as to what it might be before that. Thank you.
Avatar n tn I do not have lyme disease, but I am on a low-dose antibiotic protocol for CFIDS and there are many patients on the protocol who have had chronic lyme disease and autoimmune conditions. Many of the lyme disease patients say that the Marshall Protocol is treating their illness and they are having much greater success on the MP treatment, than the standard IV antibiotic treatment for lyme disease.
Avatar f tn I was told by a notable researcher that 90% of the marshall protocol patients would not recover since it did not address the coinfections/viruses present. I was on the protocol and JackieCalifornia and I discussed it. That is why I am using a LLMD with a newer approach. My MP Dr did not even consider testing me for "other" infections. But Ree is correct that the Benicar helps the effacy of the antibiotics.
Avatar f tn he saved his own life with his protocol and his protocol is saving people who have sarcoidosis. This apparently is a cure for sarcoidosis. And Dr. Marshall discovered Benicar. Dr. Paul Cheney said this about Dr. Marshall: "My hat is off to Trevor Marshall for identifying that the Renin Angiotensin System (RAS) is a key element in the pathology of this disease and pointing out that it acts locally as well as systemically.
1260320 tn?1270394906 I'm on Benicar HCT, have been for many years. Benicar is in a group of drugs called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. Benicar keeps blood vessels from narrowing, which lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow. Benicar HCT has a diuretic included as well. I have been fortunate, Benicar has worked from the first day I took it and works well still today. My 90 day average BP is 108/67 down from 135/85 when I started. I have had no side effects as well, the best of both worlds!
Avatar m tn A guy uses Benicar off-label for chronic fatigue or something in the so called Marshall Protocol. While its effectiveness remains dubious. He claims Benicar reduces the need for exogenous thyroid hormones in hypothyroid patients even getting to the point of hyperthyroidism. "Patients who are taking thyroid supplements should be aware that their need for those supplements may change within a day or two of starting olmesartan (Benicar).
570898 tn?1286202161 m finding that even my doctors need prompting sometimes and I wanted to start a support group for those suffering from sarcoidosis. Please check out my sarcoidosis support group under user groups and join me in the fight to educate others about this little known, though sometimes tragic disease.
Avatar f tn I've been on Benicar HCT 40/12.5 for 3 years, it's the only BP med I've been on and it has worked wonders with no side effects. My BP is down to 110/70 from 150/90 and as I said, I have had absolutely no side effects to date. For me, it's a great med, but maybe not for you. There are many to choose from, just keep working with your doctor to find the one that works best for your situation.
Avatar n tn I recently had open heart surgery, 4 bypasses. I was on Benicar 20mg. a day before the surgery along with Zocor to control cholesterol. I am now on Plavix, Toprol XL, Zocor and Benicar. My blood pressure has been low, in the range of 90/60 since the surgery but the cardiologist wants me to continue the Benicar. He said it's "good for the heart". Has anyone ever heard of this before? My understanding was that Benicar is for high BP.
Avatar n tn I'm on Toprol XL, Cardizem, Benicar along with Lasix for HTN. I have a BUN of 32 (up from 24 a month ago) with a creatinine of 1.2. Can it be medication related? I am not overweight nor do I overuse salt, but am concerned about kidney failture.
Avatar m tn I've recently been having terrible anxiety and one of the changes in my life is that I've started taking Benicar 40mg for high blood pressure. I saw on a post somewhere that benicar can cause this. Has anyone else heard of this?
Avatar n tn s be caused by the benicar? I also was put on 20mg of Paxil 6 months ago for anxiety I think due to thinking there was a problem with my heart from feeling the PVC's all the time. The PVC's would come and go for the past year, but now seem to be getting worse and worse.
Avatar n tn My wife is 36 and diagnosed with Uveitis and on steroid eye-drops now. After lot of tests our doc suggested two reasons for it either TB or Sarcoidosis. She had no symptoms of TB so far but MT was 17mm and CT guided FNAC shows granulomatous inflammation and the chest X-ray indicated a possibility of sarcoidosis but later a board of doctors ruled out sarcoidosis. Having started the TB medication for a week we now wish to continue her treatment for UVEITIS .
Avatar n tn Mike, He just means you can feel them, Many people have them and never know its going on. The doctor is also right about the Benicar, I've been taking 40mg a day for a few years, never affected me. Bottom line, if your echo is normal and your heart is normal structurally, these are normally not dangerous, but they sure can be annoying though!
Avatar m tn I have being training for several running races for 5 months. Before going into a preparation for a half marathon training, I went to the cardiologist to do a check up, as I know my BP always was borderline to be considered high. I did Echo, Stress tests and 24h BP measurements. Echo and stress went all right, but BP was slightly high, my mean systolic pressure was 133 and mean diastolic was 83, with the maximum during the test being 148 an 100.
159619 tn?1707018272 I was told when I went on Benicar that it would most likely be for life, but I would like to cut back if possible. I have to admit I have no side effects from the Benicar, it has been a great drug for me. You thoughts?
Avatar n tn My dr put me on Benicar 20mg and Toprol XL 25mg to lower my blood pressure. I have a fast pulse too (always over 100). Will these meds lower my pulse also?
Avatar f tn I have been on medication for hcb for about 5 years.Six months ago I complained of chest pain and diastolic pressure was 41. My doctor took me off of metoprolol and ordered tests from a cardiologist.Tests were all fine the pain went away and diastolic pressure returned to normal until a week ago. The chest pain has returned and the diastolic pressure is 53.I am currently on benicar hct 40/25 and my bp has been 126/53. Should I stop taking the benicar? Not sure what to make of the chest pain.
Avatar n tn My blood pressure was 120s/60s on sotalol and Benicar. Is this opposite effect (higher instead of lower blood pressure) common with this medication? Thank you.
Avatar m tn just wanted to report that the Benicar HCT bp med seemed ok to keep taking for this particular outpatient surgery...can you tell I'm relieved?
Avatar f tn Definite diagnosis to check for antibodies to the bacteria such as ELISA for Lyme disease test and western blot test can also be done to confirm ELISA results. Pain medications may also help. Take care and best regards.
Avatar f tn Do you think this could be sarcoidosis? and Can you have both lupus and Sarcoidosis? My father has some sx also seem to fit. Would either parent have to have it for me to have it? Seems like all females in my family have health issues. Aunt with sever Rheumatoid Arthritis. Is there any genetic testing that can be done to see if this could be my health issues? Avatar m tn Why can't we find a cure for SARCOIDOSIS? Why is there not more awareness for this terrible disease? It has affected my husbands liver. He now has cirrhosis and needs a liver transplant.
