Hi, I was diagnosed with bronchitis three years ago. I didn't really have a bad life style but I change what I could. So I go walking most days I've given up dairy and eat lots of food that is good for respiratory such as pineapple, green leafy veggies etc. I do breathing exercise to bring up mucus. Three weeks ago I went to the doctors and they told me I had acute bronchitis after giving me a chest x-ray and I was given 250mg of azithromycin to take for five days to treat it. I took one cipro 500 pill and then decided I needed to see my doctor. I took that at 5PM. My doctor prescribed prednisone and azithromycin. it was horrible, i woke up at night with trouble breathing. eventually the cold lessened. but i had bronchitis for like almost 3 weeks. i have taken antibiotics azithromycin but it didnt do much. after 5 days i was still miserable. i was put on it again for an extra 5 days but it just didnt work. finally my doctor put me on amoxicillin/Clav 875mg and that helped a little. and the bronchitis seemed to have cleared. then a week later my ears begin to hurt. the pain was pretty bad.
