Avatar n tn Hi, I was diagnosed with bronchitis three years ago. I didn't really have a bad life style but I change what I could. So I go walking most days I've given up dairy and eat lots of food that is good for respiratory such as pineapple, green leafy veggies etc. I do breathing exercise to bring up mucus. I had things under control till i was 12 wks pregnant, I got a chest infection around Sep. and still have it now. I've taken 8 lots of antibiotic's over this time.
442628 tn?1204892851 I went to the doctor last night and was diagnosed with bronchitis. Now I am having severe localized pain in my upper back region kind of around where my kidney is. Should I be concerned. I also have fever of 102.3 and severe congestion.
Avatar f tn Yes, a ZPack is azithromycin, but a ZPack is actually a pre-packaged 5 day course, at least here in the US. And I just learned that it's Z-Pak. Cute. This is an image of what it looks like - https://www.grxstatic.com/d4fuqqd5l3dbz/products/tms/Package_14438.

Avatar n tn Three weeks ago I went to the doctors and they told me I had acute bronchitis after giving me a chest x-ray and I was given 250mg of azithromycin to take for five days to treat it. The problem is i never took the medicine and now three weeks later i feel worse than ever. Orginally, I had a dry cough, no fever, no body aches but i did have sharp pain when i took a deep breath but i did have blood streaked sputum.
Avatar n tn I have started the normal dosage of azithromycin for it's common use (I am sick), but found out that someone I slept with may have had chlamydia in the past. Would the dosage of 500 mg per day for 3 days (total of 1500 mg) be effective for treating chlamydia if I have it? I have already talked the first 500 mg tablet today. Should I take 2 x 500 mg tomorrow? Or continue my current dosage?

Avatar n tn I wasn't entirely sure what topic to put this under but here is my quesiton... For months and months I've had trouble with my water works, I've had numerous urine samples, an ultrasound on my kidneys, x rays and I am now waiting on a cystoscopy. I've never felt the need to have an STD test because I have always believed my boyfriend was completely honest about his previous sexual encounters.
Avatar m tn This wouldnt be the correct dosage? Is there a difference between azithromycin 250mg and 500mg, even if they are added up to the same exact dosage? Would 1000mg of azithromycin (from a zpack) cure chlamydia is my question.
Avatar n tn drink plenty of fluids, if you feel worse go to the doc I just got over it and they gave me Azithromycin and codeine cough med..
Avatar f tn I took one cipro 500 pill and then decided I needed to see my doctor. I took that at 5PM. My doctor prescribed prednisone and azithromycin. I have checked and seen that there are interactions in taking these drugs together. How long until the cipro 500 is out of my system so I can begin the other antibiotics and prednizone? Thank you.
Avatar m tn I have just finish the treatment for gonorrhea after finishing the prescribed 5 day dosage of azithromycin. After further reading on azithromycin in the internet, I stumbled upon some people saying including in this forums that taking azithromycin can affect the vdrl for syphilis. I'm starting to get worried. I didn't notice any symptoms of syphilis on me at all. So is it possible that azithromycin can affect the vdrl for syphilis? I hope my doctor knew what he was doing.
Avatar f tn I had some azithromycin prescribed to me for diarrhoea from my doctor before I came overseas, to use in case of illness/travellers diarrhoea and inability to see a doctor. I looked up the uses of azithromycin and saw that it could be taken for chlamydia. Unfortunately at that time I didn't read the prescribed dose, so I took 1000mg in the way that is recommended for travellers diarrhoea, two 250mg tablets Day 1, Day 2 + 3 one 250mg tablet.
Avatar f tn Can anyone help me please! I know the standard dosage for chlamydia is 1g of azithromycin usually 2 x 500mg pills, my question is would 500mg over 3 days cure the chlamydia as it's over the 1g?
757137 tn?1347196453 you might just try eating one banana a day. That might help both your potassium levels and your hypoglycemia, as you say both are mild problems. And you might try supporting your adrenals with adaptogens such as eleuthero and ashwaganda. For exact potassium levels, that's hard, because potassium is a nutrient one has to be careful about -- you don't want too much, don't want too little. You might look into an electrolyte supplement -- and I don't mean Gator Aid!
Avatar f tn I have bronchitis this week and the doc put me on antibiotics. I feel like sh*t, coughing up green **** and my chest hurts and my head is all stuffed up -- but on the other hand, I have to laugh about it! hahaha As bad as the bronchitis is -- it's a piece of cake compared to what the bipolar puts me through on a daily basis.
Avatar n tn I just went to the doctor for bronchitis today and he prescribed azithromycin. in looking up the side effects, they talk about prolonged QT waves and ventricle tachycardia. The doctor had me go to get an keg on my way out...for a baseline? Should I be worried about being on this medicine? Thank you.
Avatar m tn it was horrible, i woke up at night with trouble breathing. eventually the cold lessened. but i had bronchitis for like almost 3 weeks. i have taken antibiotics azithromycin but it didnt do much. after 5 days i was still miserable. i was put on it again for an extra 5 days but it just didnt work. finally my doctor put me on amoxicillin/Clav 875mg and that helped a little. and the bronchitis seemed to have cleared. then a week later my ears begin to hurt. the pain was pretty bad.
Avatar n tn 2) What other drug/dosage is commonly prescribed for UTIs? I cannot afford to visit a clinic/doctor right now at all, so telling me to ask my doctor, consult my care provider, etc, though understandable, will be of absolutely no help.
Avatar f tn t going to clear a lingering cold, for example. Diagnosed strep throat, sure. Viral bronchitis, no. A clear diagnosis should be your first step. Azithromycin is good at lots of things but it's extremely overprescribed and is leading to the evolution of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Don't take it unless you have to.
