i m 26yrs old, n i started having acne wen i was 23yrs...i have used azithromycin for acne, for about 2years.. not continously though... i want to know what effect it would have on my liver.... i also had peels done, but acne is still persisting....n i hv got acne scars also.... can u suggest a treatment for my problem.....

First derma. Prescribed dosage worked out in 20 days, but again acne started coming in 7-8 months. Again I consult with second, he prescribed me mentioned above, But I read from Internet that Isotretinoin has many side effects including hair fall, so I neglect that dosage of Isotretinoin by afraid , only azithromycin took for 6 days.
Iwent to a doctor to treat a acne outbreak and they prescribed a wide spectrum antibiotic, azithromycin, a topical cream, clindamycin and a moisturizing cream contain allantoin and panthenol, I'm on my second weak of treatment and ive noticed red dry painful areas on chin and side chin what could be the cause of this
But the acne keeps coming back. My doc has now told me to take Aziwok (azithromycin) tablets thrice a week and discontinue Minolox.
The ointments show very little improvement if used alone. It's only if it's accompanied by tablets do they show any results.
I've been prescribed Deriva, Nadoxin, Clear gel, Brevoxyl, Retino A, and Clindac A till date.
What is your advice? Is there any other way to get rid of acne? Please help.

I planned on getting STD tested in a few weeks but just completed a ZPACK (azithromycin) for a sinus infection and my dermatologist has put me on 100 mg doryx (doxycycline) for acne. Other then the HIV test should I go ahead and get tested for gono, syph, chla? The reason I ask is that from what I am reading on this forum, often times those antibiotics would clear up those infections.

I also had the same problem at the begining of last summer. I was given 2 doses of 1000mg azithromycin and it went away in 2 days. Could it be that the std is ammuned to the azithromycin after i got rid of it the first time? Oh also i took azithromycin a week prior to seeing the Dr and getting tested..could this be the reason that no bacteria showed but there was still red and white blood cells in my urine? I am at a loss with this. Any advice will help greatly...
I just received my chlamydia treatment in the form of 4 tablets to be taken in one dose of Azithromycin. I starting menstruating today and I didnt know if there would be any reason this would affect the effectiveness of the drug. Also my partner was just treated yesterday...How long before we can resume having sex?
After taking Azithromycin and getting a shot in my butt and waiting 7-8 days is it safe for me to receive oral sex from a female even if my symptoms cleared up the next day I took them and after being treated and given a shot and if I got treated within 5 days in noticing something is my chance of getting rid of a STD higher since I reacted on it faster and after waiting 7-8 days after taking azithromycin and getting a shot can not use a condom and still be safe even when the symptoms cleared up
I was diagnosed with Chlamydia about a week ago. They gave me Azithromycin, 4 tablets at 250mg to take all at once. I took them and have severe stomach cramping and nausea, and ended up getting sick about 45 to an hour after taking the last pill... hoping that I would have already digested it before I got sick. The stomach pain lasted the rest of the day. It's been about 3 days now since I have taken it, but I still have that "burning" sensation after I urinate.
They are all stumped and confused, but my current dermatologist believes that my acne may be contributing to this constant skin outbreak, and is treating my acne with Duac, Defferin, and Minocycline each once a day. He believes that if my acne problem gets managed, it will leave room for this unknown skin infection/inflammation to heal. Doesn't seem to be helping so far unfortunately.

After further reading on azithromycin in the internet, I stumbled upon some people saying including in this forums that taking azithromycin can affect the vdrl for syphilis. I'm starting to get worried. I didn't notice any symptoms of syphilis on me at all. So is it possible that azithromycin can affect the vdrl for syphilis?

I have been taking Azithromycin for 4 days. I have gotten worse. Still have fever and have developed nasal congestion with yellow discharge. ENT gave me Spectracef. I read that Spectracef does not treat mychoplasma. So, is there an antibiotic that would treat both mychoplasma AND sinusitis incase I have one or both?
I was prescribed 1g of azithromycin 3 weeka ago in the UK for chlamydia.
Unfortunately from a bad reaction I had to a medicine years ago, I have a phobia of tablets, so I crushed the azithromycin, mixed it with water, waited for it to dissolve (about 2 hours), and drank it (very foul bitter taste).
After 3 weeks, my chlamydia is back, exactly the same stomach cramps, and discharge (I'm female).

After a couple of weeks felt fever like symptoms, felt heat in the body, but no actual fever. (measurement was highly normal through digital thermometer), went to a doctor, after examining gave ciproflaxacin for 5 days (500 mg twice a day). Took test for HIV (Elisa) at 9 and 14 weeks, was negative.
