avalide

Avatar f tn Is this the proper treatment?? He gave me samples of 150 mg tablets and said I could cut them in half and just take a half a pill once a day. What do you think about that?
Avatar n tn The medication prescribed to me is Avapro HCT 150mg/12.5mg (Irbesartan and hydrochlorothiazide) taken once daily (1 tablet) mainly to help ensure the blood pressure remains under 140 systolic, which is believed to help reduce the pressure on the aorta and root. I am booked in for a second opinion with another cardiologist next week mainly to re-assure myself and my wife (and kids) that things are chugging along okay.
Avatar n tn I had been taking 150 mg of avapro for 10 years for high blood pressure. I recently lost 25 pounds and was able to maintain my blood pressure on 75 mg. in fact with a home machine my blood pressure is consistently low. It never goes above 106/70 and most often is 90-97/70-75. Would it be safe to stop taking the medication to see if I can keep the pressure from getting high? Or would it be safer to cut the pill in half and if so, for how long?
Avatar m tn Hx: Hubby 47 has had HBP for 1 year? systolic(136-150) dyastoic(104 118). Heart rate high 90's or 100 - 110. Took Avapro o/d x 1 month July/08. Stress test after second appt. was okay. Cholesterol ok. BP still up. ie: dyastolic 108 - 118. Ht rate 100 - 120. Hubbies father has MI at age 51 died. Hubbies bro at 49 had a massage coronary and died. (2002). Family doc doesn't seem concerned. I think his heart rate is too high. His dyastolic pressure is still high.
Avatar m tn I am a male 70 years of age. I have been on 150mg Irbesartan and 5mg Amlodipine daily since October 2010. This controlled by BP within acceptable limits. Since late April, however, the systolic has risen to an average of around 150. My doctor wants me to add a beta blocker to the other medications. Since last October my heart rate was averaging below 60. Since late April it is averaging around 70.
Avatar m tn Stef, I understand the safe dosage is 300 mg/day.. is this correct?
492329 tn?1290883385 I take Avalide 150/12.5 and Atenolol 50 mg, am/pm for Avalide and he did up my Atenolol to twice a day. He wants me to walk 30 mins a day and lose 25 lbs in 6 mos. However, my head aches the minute I more my ears ring to. He seems to think they are not connected. I'm really, really terrified! Oh and I had a heart cath in Oct 2008 all okay, but he did mention an S4 but said it would go away when the pressure comes down.
Avatar n tn m currently taking Irbesartan every morning and is now controlled well. I enjoy traveling in hot conditions, some days can be up to 39 degrees. Can my blood pressure medication stand such heat if I was to say just put it in my wallet? I'm always traveling to different places and don't always have access to a fridge or ice to take on hand. If not, are there any other heat resistance BP medication i can try?
Avatar n tn nortriptylene, however, they were not good for concentration! I noticed that other people take higher doses of Wellbutrin150 mg in the morning and 150 mg evening! I tried Wellbutrin awhile back and they certainly didn't make me tired in fact it was the opposite! That is why I am wondering if I am on too low a dose, although you say it maybe too high! I am definitely going to try them at night ... makes sense if I am tired after I take one..and start feeling better early evening!
Avatar n tn A year ago, my doctor gave me Lescol/Fluvastatin to take because I am a high risk for heart disease due to genetics and diabetes. At that time my Lipids were within normal range. After a month, ALT/AST results were very elevated. and medication was discontinued. Since then, I've gone through ultrasound, HiDa Scan and finally diagnose of fatty liver. The Gastroenterologist recommended Liver Biopsy to check for liver damage.
Avatar f tn m back to the CTX -150 mg/day,now, and it seems to be finally keeping the brain fog away. I did nothing for the deadaches, and I am now taking divaloprox for them. This is helping too. I am also on verapamil, prednisone, avapro, vit B-12, vit-D, calcium, cymbalta, plavix, and ambien. I'm a walking grugstore I have recently develped Hoener's Syndrome, choking on liquids, a chronic cough, fecal urgency, and regurgitation. I fel as though I will drown if I lay flat.
Avatar n tn I do what I want in terms of exercise and activities, I take 5 mg of Bystolic and 150 mg Avapro with zero effects on my activity level. If your surgeon and cardio say have the surgery, I'd listen to them. Not sure who you have for a surgeron, I strongly suggest you go to someone who has done hundreds of these, not someone who does one now and then. I suggest Cleveland Clinic, or my surgeon Dr. Vincent Gaudiani (Sequoia CA), or Dr. Craig Miller at Stanford. Good luck.

Avatar f tn What's the difference? I think I take 150 ml of methadone and I thought it was mg?
Avatar n tn Can you please advise if I am taking high blood pressure medication (irbesartan) and Altorvastatin for high cholesteron and I am also taking Tamoxafin for breast cancer (about to come off this drug), is it adviseable to take Leptin Cocoa for health weight loss or would this affect the medications?
Avatar n tn put me on lowest dose of Losartan and I got joint pain in my thumbs and then in a knee so I weaned myself off but my BP was very high (systolic) during visit. He puts me on Irbesartan, SAME class of drug, then goes on VACATION. It's the smallest dose and I took a corner of a pill yesterday, no pill today, BP is fine, I'm in PAIN. My thumbs hurt, my right foot and left knee, I don't feel well and then I read that all of this are side effects of this drug.
Avatar f tn I currently take 150 mcg of generic synthroid. I asked Dr for Armour. She gave me a script for 90 mg and instructed me to take one tablet a day. I haven't picked it up yet but this seems odd based on what I have read about this medication. I'm concerned I might turn my life upside down if Its dosed wrong. Any suggestions? Should I take a half of it twice a day? Thanks...
863754 tn?1239144755 First off... Hi everyone and thanks for making such a great site! My aunt's doctor gave her Budeprion SR 150 mg to help quit smoking. A friend of her's told her that you're not supposed to take it, if you take any medications for diabetes. She does take a pill (not sure which and didn't think to ask her) for her diabetes and I told her I'd try to find out if it could cause any problems.
