I'm not making definitive statements that avandia is bad (or good)... just explaining my reasons for being cautious until lots of other people (who need it more urgently... for diabetes, etc.) try it out.

It is entirely possible that you can have a normal blood pressure, lab results, and other testing, but still be at risk. There are are many things that also put us at risk for developing heart disease, which include obesity, smoking, and genetics (family history). If your parents or siblings in particular had heart disease, that increases your risk significantly (especially if they had heart disease before the age of 55).
I am still alive up to now, shold I go the ER and check to see if there was heart damage or was this a panic/anxiety attack ? Am I at risk for a heart attck ? I have constant chest pains sensative to touch. What's the risk of developing an arrythmia after two months when all the test came back negative ?
Hi, im an 18 year old female I weigh about 160, my mother & sister has high blood pressure, other than that no family heart issues/attacks. For the past 4 days my left arm (upper) and my left coller bone has been aching, I wouldn't say pain.. its more like pulling a muscle feeling and also my left side of my neck, it can really feel it if I lean forward.
It is a sign of a warning. Being overweight you have much higher standing risk factors. You should lose weight to decrease the risk for heart disease. Use a body mass indicator.

My mother in law is 60 years old, smokes 1 pack a day x 40 yrs and had a triple bypass in Dec 23, 2009. Four months later in April 2010, she had another mild heart attack which resulted in three stents in the bypasses. Her interventional cardiologist told her she was in a rare percentage of the population whose vessels reject stents (i am sure he used more specific terms).
First of all, I am sorry to hear of the loss of your Dad. Something caused the heart attack like a blood clot or blockage in the artery. I am not sure why the nurse would tell him to quit taking the heart medication. The medication is very important. Did he die of a heart attack? Now, it is important for you to know your cholesterol levels, make sure that you are eating healthy. LDL levels should be 100 or below, HDL for men 40's, for women 50's, triglycerides below 150.
Also go on the websites of the manufactures, sometimes they have coupons for a % off your bill. When I joint the avandia program I got a couple months free avandia, plus they send coupons at times. Also ask your md for samples. I use to work at a doctors office and we got enough samples to open a pharmacy. Another thing, if your job offers a flexible spending account, I find that is nice as well. it reduces your taxes and you can contribute up to 3000 a year to them. good luck.
