for a while I was off the metformin theory due to the newer drugs such as Byetta and Victoza being more "liver friendly". However, sice succoumbing to a throat tumor (victoza in particular known for thyroid issues) which will removed Monday, I'm off the liver spit drugs and back on the metformin band wagon.
I would really like some help with this. Byetta has been wonderful so far, and I've lost 30 lbs, yay! But now I've developed insomnia - terrible, only 3 hours of sleep a night insomnia, which has never bothered me before. If I skip my second Byetta shot for the day, I can usually get a full night's sleep. So that's certainly a clue that I may not be able to take the full two doses of Byetta a day.
My initial HgbA1c was 8. My fasting insulin level was high (sad to say I don't remember the number). I do random fsbs's twice a day, always below 200. The fasting bs's were between 130 and 150 initially, now usually between 100 and 120. The 2 hour post prandials are unpredictable (but always below 200).
I used Byetta for a long time and I am not an expert or medical person. You are best to get the information from your doctor. Before I started using Byetta, I had to take classes from a nurse on how I had to inject Byetta into my stomach. It was prescribed by my Doctor. Byetta has side effects reported by some people but I had no problems with it other than the expense. It does give you a feeling of fullness and it has a nickname (Spit).
Does anyone know what autoimmune disorders can cause hypermobility? I would love to know if there really could be a link between that and my constant injuries, also if there is treatment for whatever it is that could help lessen my propensity toward dislocation injuries. I'm really quite frustrated with being known as the klutz and having the nickname "boom.
I actually started on Victoza about 3 months ago. I had to change to Byetta in about 2 weeks (finished Victoza sample and insurance would only pay for Byetta). I developed nausea at the smaller dose of Victoza, and never used the larger dose. The nausea was unchanged with the change of meds.....and I have lost a LOT of weight (29 pounds). But the nausea started within a day or two of starting it. At least for me.
I personally believe antidepressants are linked to autism. You are way better off going the natural route. My midwives suggested these for my depression and its help a ton! Take a very large amount of dha fish oil. I recommend Nordic natural brand, strawberry flavor. I take 1200mg. Also, I started taking a prenatal yoga class. I suggest either that or water aerobics. Exercise will save you and the social aspect is truly important. Cut out the craps food and focus on good nutrition.
Can I take Evening Primrose and Femara together? I'm also taking Avandia. Any thoughts would be great!
i always suffer with muscle pain im very active but some days i feel like i been hit by a bus and i feel exuasted i find it worse if i eat white flour or unhealthy foods n not active but if im too active i suffer also.

I have been sick with a cold/flu for three weeks. Two days ago, I developed diarrhea. It seemed to occur immediately after eating. Today, the diarrhea was bright yellow and I passed something the size of a small grape (also yellow in color). I'm currently on synthroid (for hypothyroidism), effexor (for depression), and metformin & byetta (for insulin resistence). I've been on the Byetta for nearly a month, but have not suffered any side effects to date.
t seem to be experiencing the usual side effects (nausea, headache) others do or that I did when I was on Byetta (I was told Victoza is very similar to Byetta) a few years ago. However ... and this happened to me on a prior med (I forget which one) about 6 months ago, but I started feeling pretty severe anxiety: my face is flushed, my heart is racing, I have a knot in my stomach, and I started getting paranoid (like thinking a friend was going to betray me) for no reason whatsoever.
This is because lansoprazole and other proton pump inhibitors weaken the bones and have been linked to the development of osteosteoporosis.
People who are at higher risk for sustaining such injuries are those who take higher doses of this medication and those who take this medication for one year or longer. Also, people who are 50 years of age and older are also at risk of sustaining similar injuries.
