Are you nursing the babies? I had an infection while nursing my youngest and as I remember (he is now 13 years old), you need to make sure to keep the milk flowing....pump that breast every few hours and nurse off the other side until it feels less sore. The antibiotics should take care of it I would imaging. If you can call a nurse hotline, or speak to a nurse at the hospital it would probably be a good idea! Congrats on your twins!

I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working. I plan on calling my OB in the morning to double check. They are pregnancy category B. Although they are thought to be safe not many studies have been done on them. I'm nervous about everything. This is my first pregnancy and I am only 18. Thank you!!

I was just curious if anyone is or has tried to concieve while nursing. My DS is almost 6 months old and I have had AF twice since birth, but it is irregular (which is normal for me b/c AF was irregular prior to concieving baby number 1). I was just wondering if there are any tips besides the normal stuff for TTC - like any special considerations, is it harder/easier, etc. thanks!

My lung Doctor called me in some augmentin because I have been coughing up thick yellow mucus. I just don't know if I can take it on treatment. Does anyone know??

anyone else have side effects AFTER STOPPING augmentin after the full 10 day dose? I have been off for two days and have awful sweating and hot flashes. I am male, and in relatively good shape. bp has been in the 140/70 range for three days. odd stuff. Ive usually had plain ole amoxicillin, but this stuff takes the cake.

As long as you and baby are happy, and you have no medical issues preventing it,there is no reason to stop nursing even after baby comes. A few nursing support groups to help with tandem nursing I found are the La Leche League (LLL) and breastfeeding mom talk.

Being treated with metronidazole should have cleared a BV or Trichomonas infection but it didnt work.. When He Went To The Doctor, they Just Gave Him More augmentin.

Augmentin will affect your pill. The other one I do not know about. It probably takes a couple of days for the antiboitics to get out of your system. You might wanna use a second form of protection just in case.

However, unless you want to be BFing 2 babies at once, I would try to make sure your baby is weaned before the next one is born. Some people do tandem nursing, but not my thing. Nursing one is enough work already...especially a newborn. Good luck!!

I have recently battled a sinus infection following a head cold. Treatment w/Augmentin helped the symptoms of the SI, but simultaneously I developed a very stiff neck pain. Augmentin always makes me feel "strange". Coincidence or related . Maybe others have experienced same?

it was back and this time it went straight to dry inflamed mode. Augmentin did not help. In fact from all the augmentin I got yeast and/or BV. I was given flagyl which worked for 2 weeks then it all came back with a vengeance. I didn't just have vaginal inflammation but ulcerated sores in my rectum as well. I'm still suffering from that as medications didn't make it completely go away.

I really thought I felt better when I was getting the shots. The Rocephin interrupted the course of Augmentin, so I finished the Augmentin after the shots were complete. I think I finished the Augmentin on a Friday, and that Saturday I had virtually no symptoms at all. Sunday they returned and have been bothering since.

Hey all! I'm still nursing my 15 month old about 4-5 times a day, I am about 5 weeks pregnant and I feel extremely drained/fatigued! I never felt this tired with my first. Anyone have any advice or know of a good way to boost energy safely? I'm drinking lots of water and trying to eat a good balanced diet and going strong on the protein. But still want to sleep all day. Any advice??

It only came out if I squeezed. So anyway, this time around I was nursing when I got pregnant and my son just stopped about 9 weeks ago and my milk dried up within 3 days. I then noticed that just a little bit of what I thought was colostrum was just coming out and only if I would squeeze it. Anyway....I noticed today that nothing is coming out anymore. Is that normal? Because I had been previously diagnosed (and treated with 1000mg Amoxicillin three times daily) with a sinus and left ear infection about a month earlier he suspected that I could possibly have some type of resistant sinusitus and prescribed Augmentin XR (1000 mg) 2 pills twice a day. My RE will reluctantly start me on a medication protocol most likely this week but has asked that I refrain from nursing 2 days post implantation as nursing may cause uterine contractions. There are studies that suggest that nursing does not negatively affect outcomes. Anyone have any info?

I know you have to take special BC without a certain hormone cause your body is producing it while you nurse but is the pill the only option when your nursing? or are there other methods for while nursing?

So my doc did to take the Evening Primrose Oil to try and help soften things up. But the smallest bottle had like 90 pills in them. I doubt I'll use all of them and have heard that it's a good supplement to take all the time including while nursing... But I've also heard it can dry you up... sigh does anyone know?? I do not use any form of birth control and I know it could be possible. Has any one else gotten pregnant while nursing and how did you know. I have gone up to cup sizes in about the last 3 to 4 weeks, I am extremely tired, my breast hurt and nipples are tender when my daughter nurses. I had one time spotting about a week ago and took a test the day after the spotting and it was neg. I was told it could have been implantation spotting so it would have been to early anyway.
