I was diagnosed with epididymitis after a surgical procedure in early August. I was prescribed doxycycline and cipro and it seemed as if the swelling was going down and the pain was easing. After a few weeks, I ended up back at the ER 8/25 from pain and learned that the epidiymitis was caused by an UTI that must've occured after surgery. The doctor prescribed me doxycycline again. Things seemed to normalize but after I decided to seek other counsel.
Had to go to Doctor`s Care today, due to a miserable UTI. I am a myoclonic seizure patient and due to this UTI issue Am on no sleep. Not good for seizure condition. The Dr. was aware I had the seizure problem and prescribed cipro, which I had to call and tell them to send me something different. The one at the pharmacy now is Augmentin. Just need a neurologist`s expert opinion as to whether or not it is alright to take Augmentin with my myoclonic seizure condition.
December 16, 2016, diagnosed with UTI was placed on the antibiotic Bactrim, symptoms did not go away went to the walk in clinic they repeated the urine and it showed UTI. Placed me on Cipro symptoms were not any better,culture from walk in showed contamination so they wanted to repeat the specimen. Went to the clinic and gave a repeat specimen, it showed Entercoccus was placed on Augmentin. From research I have found that the only thing that works on Entercoccus bacteria is vancomycin.

This is not a STD and has become more resistant to medications. Follow up with your Dr.
If you took augmentin, and it cleared up for you, it was a UTI and not an STI.
You bought her clotrimazole? That's medication for a yeast infection, which can happen for lots of reasons, and is also not an STI.
Your wife is pregnant, though, and I understand why you are worried. After you've been off the augmentin for 3 weeks, test for all STIs to be able to put this behind you.
2) Is doxycycline the usual treatment for STDs? and not treatment for UTI ? If my pain is reduced due to doxycycline does it mean I belong to STD problem?
3) can an STD show up positive on a UTI test (blood + urine)? I think the doctor only took the UTI test because I don't have a partner and don't have sex. it is possible that they focus on UTI. but the result is negative. no infection.
My Dr has treated me with Metronidazole- brand name used was flagyl Nylstatin for yeast, clamycin,spandnox (for yeast), and recently had some relief with Augmentin(which was prescribed for a chest infection). When i was on augmentin all the above symptoms went away however came back 1 or 2 days after i came off the anti biotic.
I do have pain when I urinate on some occasions if the stream of urine is not forceful enough. I got a full UTI test and whatever else they can pick up through urine and my doctor said it was clean. About a week later i developed what i thought was a UTI with burning on urination. I called the dr. and they prescriped Septra. I took 2 doses and broke out in a rash all over and had to stop the anti. I called Dr. back and they said to wait and see if it gets worse. I was prescribed augmentin 875 and I am taking that 2 times a day for the past 4 days now. I was also prescribed sudafed 4-6 hours that I have been taking for 2 days. UTI, fatique and mouth sore since long by antibiotic it was not controlled. Did all test CBC, Urine culture, HIV 1&2, Hepatetis B and VDRL. All all clear. What will be the reason. I had a un protected sex three years back. At present all are clear, is there any chance of HIv in future.

I'm a 25 year old female with no history of UTI or other urinary problems. about 3 weeks ago i experienced vaginal burning/itching, went to gyno, swabbed for multiple stds, bacteria, and yeast. all came back negative, but he put me on 7 days of augmentin anyway. symptoms subsided. the morning after i took my last augmentin, i woke up with severe pain/cramping in my bladder and needed to urinate about every 20 min. got a home uti test, it was negative.

You do not need to rush to the hospital at night, but will definitely need to meet with your doctor in the morning to have routine tests, such as urinalysis and blood tests, to identify signs and type of infection. Treatment and further investigations will depend on physical examination and initial test results.
Ensure that you keep your fluid intake over 2000 ml and avoid irritants such as caffeine and alcohol, in the meantime.
