I recently took a 10 day course of augmentin for strep throat or tonsillitis (I took the prescription prior to testing to see which). Toward the end of the treatment, I started to experience some mild discomfort after urninating. Weeks later I am still experiencing that discomfort, in varying degrees. Usually if I am better hydrated it is milder. It is never terrible, just a mild burning or itching. The location is toward the tip of the penis, but inside.
On Monday I went doctor since I had some fever and sore throat, he said it was tonsillitis and prescribed me Augmentin 500g (amoxicillin/clavulanate potassium) and paracetamol. Okay now I don't have fever anymore and I don't feel the pain, it's getting better so I've stoped with paracetamol. But since yesterday I've started to have diarrhea. It's painless, I just notice some sounds in my stomach and a sudden need to go wc.
my wife (35 y), last week she had tonsillitis with high temp 38 c, she started antibioetec (augmentin) and panadol for high temp, after two days she felt better but high temp still measured on the thermometer (but you can't feel it by touch , it is internal temperature only) with no symptoms, she is active and doesn't feel any issue, the only problem is the high temp on thermometer for the 6th day now (we tried same thermometer on us and it is working, we tried also other thermometers an
I have the same problem.
I went to ENT for the pain in my throat (not sore throat, no pain swallowing) and he said chronic tonsillitis and prescribed 10 days of Augmentin, which has ended. The pain in my throat is now become just a nuisance/dull.
But the back lumps and pain are chronic and a 7 out of 10 pain.
Any ideas???
I developed a sore throat with white spots on tonsils and now runny nose. Immediate care says either strep or tonsillitis and gave me Augmentin. My common sense says one week is too early to be sick from HIV and that I probably got sick from the airplane. However, my paranoia says panic. Knowing that I do not know the facts about HIV, I turn to the group. Am I worrying about nothing?
If you have a viral tonsillitis, it will get better on its own in time (about the same time that was quoted for the Augmentin!). But you are also taking Augmentin. So, won't it be tempting to say that the Augmentin is what made you better? We'll never know.
It's not necessarily a bad idea, taking both -- especially if they are truly unsure and they're trying to get you better as fast as possible.
I saw a doctor several times from June-September. At the time I had tonsillitis, which cleared after Augmentin treatment, but the flushing and swollen tonsil, and white spots remained. Got blood tests and the opinion of an internalist, but everything came back negative. No abnormal counts, neg hep a, neg heb b, neg tb, neg hiv, neg ebv, no elevated CBC, WBC, everything tested normal.
Took 7 days of Augmentin (3x daily), 1.
I visited the doctor yesterday and she prescribed me Augmentin, stating that I had a throat infection. Today however, I noticed that I had very small white spots, visually very similar to tiny canker sores, spread across the back of the throat, tonsils, and on my uvula. I can count probably 15 or so, but as stated before, they are barely bigger than grains of sand. These appeared after my doctors appointment so I'm forced to ask here instead. Could anyone tell me what they might be?

There was this guy I was seeing last yeat, we made out, just kissing last september and then two days later I got something resembling strep, but the strep test was neg. Didn't see eachother anymore until December, when we had protected vaginal sex, which was actually my first time...which resulted in no illness.
Tonsillectomy is advised if there is recurrent streptococcal tonsillitis, recurrent peritonsillar abscess and chronic tonsillitis.
But please check to see if your symptoms could be due to a post nasal drip, which can cause a chronic irritation in the throat. This could be due to a sinus infection, a cold or a chronic allergy. It could be sinusitis, if it is accompanied by nasal stuffiness and facial pain or pressure. Post nasal drip could also be due to allergens.
Hello. I'm looking for advice and help for my 3 year old brother. He's frequently sick and is acquiring a range of illnesses such as the cold, high fevers, tonsillitis and viral pneumonia. When he was about only a year old he got severe bronchitis and was in hospital for a week. I don't know if that's severely weakened his immune system. But the main problem is this past few months, he's been getting high fevers (as high as 39-40.5 Degrees) tonsillitis and pneumonia.
I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working.
I plan on calling my OB in the morning to double check. They are pregnancy category B. Although they are thought to be safe not many studies have been done on them. I'm nervous about everything. This is my first pregnancy and I am only 18.

I should also note that for the last 3 months I had Tonsillitis 2 times.I currently take Augmentin and Aerius along with a Nasal Spray called Floxonase.The ENT said that I have Chronic Tonsillitis and that I should consider taking out my Tonsills. I am very sure this is Oral Hpv.I gave Oral Sex to my husband in July and I started having having Tonsils problems in September,October and now November.The ENT insists that this is Genetis since my parents too have bad tonsils.
t yet developed the infection, as would be indicated by the presence of a lesion or a positive blood test, than it takes for curative treatment. The augmentin taken twice daily for two weeks would certainly cure and prevent development of syphilis. The combination of cefixime and azithromycin would most probably prevent infection but it would not be curative if the infection was established.
To confirm the presence of HIV infection, the most specific test would be testing for its antibodies with an ELISA test which is a screening test which looks for antibodies in the blood. The antibodies are usually produced within 1-3 months of the infection. If this test is positive as a lot of false positivity exists with this test another more specific test to detect the antibodies is the Western blot test.
Sometimes persistent enlargement of the tonsil can sometimes be due to a lymphoma.
