One final point I failed to mention. My final question. The girl was under the influence (we both were). I thought she was drunk but perhaps upon reflection it was drug use. I have no evidence for IV drug use but this worries me. How would this change your answer if at all. This will be my last point.
Having the symptoms and avoiding sex I went for a full STD test, all negative except herpes 2 (still waiting on Herpes 1). I thought I had Herpes 1 because I get an occasional cold sore (not tested until now), I also thought that tests can't differentiate which herpes virus until at least 6 weeks of exposure. I also thought it is very rare to get HSV2 from receiving fallatio.
Is it possible to get HSV2 from fallatio and how accurate is the test 12 days into exposure?
The doctor told me if it was herpes augmentin would not get rid of the sores, they would be there for weeks, they are almost gone also the cuts are doing really well, almost healed.The largest cut is taking a little longer than the rest. I guess I will find out on friday when I acutally see him again.
That said, prophylactic antibiotic therapy is not unreasonable. Augmentin has not been studied in this contact, but for sure it would successfully abort incubating syphilis. It's activity against gonorrhea is less certain, but 1,000 mg should effectively prevent or abort gonorrhea if taken twice daily for 5 days. The other STD of potential concern is herpes due to HSV-1, although the chance of that is very low.
I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working.
I plan on calling my OB in the morning to double check. They are pregnancy category B. Although they are thought to be safe not many studies have been done on them. I'm nervous about everything. This is my first pregnancy and I am only 18.

So could this be either an outbreak of herpes-1 that I have already tested positive for, or a new infection of herpes-2 caught from the recent encounter?
3 -Assuming it is herpes how easy is it to spread from deep kissing? Or from using saliva from mouth to lubricate prior to vaginal sex? Sores are on the roof of mouth and inside of cheek
4- How common is it to get herpes inside your mouth? Is the only reasonable way to get it from performing oral sex on a man?
Syphilis or genital herpes? I have also been feeling fatigued/lazy for about 3-4 days now. I insisted that I wanted to get tested for these STDs and resultantly he got me tested for Syphilis (VDRL/RPR: Non-reactive and TPHA Titre <1:80)
Do I need to get retested to confirm? Also, is the TPHA also an efficient/effective test like the TPPA?

I went to my doctor he said that it looked more like jock itch. I got some lotrimin and that cleared up.
t yet developed the infection, as would be indicated by the presence of a lesion or a positive blood test, than it takes for curative treatment. The augmentin taken twice daily for two weeks would certainly cure and prevent development of syphilis. The combination of cefixime and azithromycin would most probably prevent infection but it would not be curative if the infection was established.
In light of the treatment with Augmentin (the combo of Amox and Clav) and yet you still have enlarged axillary lymph nodes, further diagnostics need to be done. Has your CBC been repeated since the antibiotic was completed to see if numbers changed? In this country, Augmentin is given for 10 days for infections, and perhaps that's what you need to insure that the infection is entirely gone. Given that your axillary node is still enlarged, there is surely something going on...

Although Augmentin kills certain types of bacteria and is used for lower respiratory, ear, urinary and sinus bacterial infections, does not necessarily mean it will get help a sore throat.
To find out what type of bacteria is causing the sore throat and which antibiotic will kill that bacteria is to get a swab taken of your throat to identify the bacteria and then the correct antibiotic will be prescribed.
