Because I had been previously diagnosed (and treated with 1000mg Amoxicillin three times daily) with a sinus and left ear infection about a month earlier he suspected that I could possibly have some type of resistant sinusitus and prescribed Augmentin XR (1000 mg) 2 pills twice a day. I had oral sex again with the asymptomatic guy again on 4/11. I was informed by the guy who developed gonorrhea of all this today, 4/14, and have not had sex with him since before his symptoms began.
I test my own blood and adjust my dosage of warfarin. Usually I'm right in range 2.5 to 3.5 (2 art heart valves). About 6 to 8 weeks ago, I took augmentin for 10 days, 2 weeks ago, I took another antibiotic for 5 days. Since then, my PT/INR has been too low, 2.0. My diet and meds have stayed the same. I've been increasing my dose, yet it's still too low. Is it normal for this change? Please see my profile! Can it indicate my lupus activity?
s but will help in the bladder and if it is bladder infections leading to kidney infections it may help. The juice isn't that great. It is high in sugar, and not nearly as strong as the pills. Cranberry makes the bladder slippery so the infections can't stick to the walls of the bladder. Another tasty option is real dried unsweetened (or sweetened with applejuice cranberries. They are found at health food stores and cost a fortune but they are so gooooood. Craisins are just candy.
s why I would finish with Augmentin, do you agree? What problems could I have by taking Augmentin if I have no infections at all? Thanks.
Over the past 18 months I have had three anal abscesses, and I had another abscess approximately 6 years ago. In all cases these abscess presented quickly (within 2 days) and I have had to have 3 of 4 drained by the surgeon. My most recent was caught early so my doctor decided to try Augmentin before having me see a surgeon to have it drained. But, I'm getting concerned that this definitely doesn't seem normal for someone who is healthy and my age -- 29 years old.
Waited 14 days did another sputum and they told me pseudonomas has colonized but I have 2 new infections STENOTROPHOMONAS MALTOPHILIA and SERRATIA MARCESCENS.... The infectious disease doctor did not want to treat them , in fear of me getting c-diff. Since 9/15 i have been on ceftin, bactrim, doxycycline, amoxycillin augmentin , zosyn, cetamadine, gentamyacin, zithromyacin and cypro. I just seen my pulmanologist due to a cough she gave me ceftin i finished that on 4/18/2016.
It might be, it does seem a little light but it could clear a STD up if you had it. Best thing is always wait for tests. And I think this is why the Dr went light on the dosage.
It could also be due to tooth infections, impacted tooth or skin infections. The others are migrainous headaches and those caused due to brain disorders, disorders of the eyes , neck or ears to name a few. To find a cure you need to consult your primary care physician for proper assessment. If needed he may refer you to a dentist. In the meantime take OTC naproxen for relief from pain.

I have recently battled a sinus infection following a head cold. Treatment w/Augmentin helped the symptoms of the SI, but simultaneously I developed a very stiff neck pain. Augmentin always makes me feel "strange". Coincidence or related . Maybe others have experienced same?

I'm suffering inflammation of the tonsils and taking now augmentin 1g (875mg amoxcillin + 125mg clavulanic acid). Also, i take some antiseptic and anti-inflammatory medication like bradoral 0.5 mg (domiphen bromide ). Also, I take a syrup for common cold and influenza (dosage teaspoonful 5ml which contains 160mg paracetamol, 1mg chlorpheniramine maleate, 15mg pseudoephedrine HCI, and 4.5mg dextromethorphan HBr).
I had my first root canal (done 7 months ago) that became reinfected just 3 months after the initial procedure. It wound up causing a massive infection, along with near constant fever and previously a very ill period of 4-6 weeks where I had the most horrible waves of debilitating flu-like illness.
At the onset of the infection, which turned into an abscess, my white blood cell count was slightly elevated.
it was back and this time it went straight to dry inflamed mode. Augmentin did not help. In fact from all the augmentin I got yeast and/or BV. I was given flagyl which worked for 2 weeks then it all came back with a vengeance. I didn't just have vaginal inflammation but ulcerated sores in my rectum as well. I'm still suffering from that as medications didn't make it completely go away.
Some heart palpitations, but not as often as with the higher dosage, but not feeling myself that much. Anyway, I think I may have a sinus infection - lots of sinus drainage and feeling really down. But with the thyroid problem, it is hard to tell what is from what these days. I have not been to the doctor for the sinus thing as they say if it is viral, they can't do anything, but it doesn't seem to be going away.
On Friday, June 11th, I was diagnosed with otitis media (middle ear infection) and placed on Augmentin and pain reliving drops. I am still experiencing pain as if someone is stabbing me in the ear, it is keeping me awake, and my ear is completely blocked with what feels like fluid. I stil feel awful and cannot get comfortable at all.
Should I return to the doctor? My ear is hurting me a lot and I am having pain into my kneck and terrible headaches.

It sounds like you have somekind of infection, but I don't know. Maybe the HPV virus.
I had an abscess in my right breast 10 years ago and it left a little lump after it healed. Two weeks ago I developed an abscess in the same spot. My GP recommended a week of antibiotics (Augmentin) and it started to drain on its own two days back. I feel a thickened area which hasn't gone down. Should I be worried? The abscess continues to drain slowly and I have covered it with sterilized gauze. Please help.
I have had chronic infections since infancy (usually throat, lungs, urinary system. and joint and muscle pain since 8 years of age. Pain seems to come in "flares", muscle pain is burning and aching, joint pain is aching. Currently also having frequent muscle contractions and facial twitching and tremors in hands. Slurred speech and memory problems occasionally.
I've had a mild headache (2-4/ 10 pain scale) for the last three months. My doctor has put me on 6 weeks of augmentin, but it didn't help. I'm getting a sinus ct next week. I have enlarged parotid glands as well as lymph nodes. I'm dizzy at night and sometimes my headache gets so bad that I can't function. Migraines and tension headaches have already been ruled out. Any ideas? I would really appreciate it if anyone knows anything.
I was treated with antibiotics (Augmentin) appx. 4-5 weeks ago for a very bad sinus infection. I felt better and then appx 2 weeks ago I developed more symptoms, dental (teeth) pain, headaches, extreme tiredness, ear congestion, and finally went back to the doctor. He said that my throat glands were swollen and gave me a different anibiotic. I have been on the antibiotics for 4plus full days.
I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working.
I plan on calling my OB in the morning to double check. They are pregnancy category B. Although they are thought to be safe not many studies have been done on them. I'm nervous about everything. This is my first pregnancy and I am only 18.

Hi, this could be due to either tuberculosis, sarcoidosis or other kind of infections. Try a course of augmentin or third generation cephalosporin antibiotic along with amikacin, and if pneumonitis does not go after 4-5 days of therapy or fever still persisits, further evaluation i.e CT chest along with biopsy is needed to find out the cause.
