When He Went To The Doctor, they Just Gave Him More augmentin.

Even after treatment diarhhea has been evident with extreme nausea on some days, and painful abdominal spasms.

They did a CT scan and said I had diverticulitis. What a nasty little surprise. They did an IV bag of Zosyn, sent me home finally with plenty of metronidazole (QID) and SulfaTrim (BID).

it sounds like you had an allergic reaction or OD to the Augmentin. My Mom nearly died from Augmentin. It is a very strong drug and sometimes doctors go over board on the dosage. Don't take anymore. Call your doctor and get a different, less harsh antibiotic.

I have had lower left stomach pain for over 3 weeks..I took augmentin for 8 days it seemed to do the trick. But it came right back..went to ER and had a CT scan with contrast and white blood count was normal..doc said CT looked OK..I'm confused and still very sick even have pain in my groin and down my leg..it's never bee. I had an abscess in my right breast 10 years ago and it left a little lump after it healed. Two weeks ago I developed an abscess in the same spot. My GP recommended a week of antibiotics (Augmentin) and it started to drain on its own two days back. I feel a thickened area which hasn't gone down. Should I be worried? I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working. Hi all! I'm 3 weeks into dealing with an attack of diverticulitis. Spent a couple days in the hospital, and they checked my thyroid. I sent for a copy of my records, but haven't gotten them yet. SO..all I know at this point is, as the hospital staff Doc said" you don't have enough thyroid hormone..AND your T3 is low" ..This is after having my levo increased in June..from 125mcg to 137mcg. So the hospital doc gave me 150mcg..been on that for about 2 weeks now.

The augmentin taken twice daily for two weeks would certainly cure and prevent development of syphilis. The combination of cefixime and azithromycin would most probably prevent infection but it would not be curative if the infection was established.

I should add that I was prescribed Augmentin at the same time post operatively for a knee arthroscope and wondered whether this could interfere with the efficacy of the azithromycin?

I have just gotten over bronchitis two weeks ago and not much rest with being a teacher and all. I took augmentin for 10 days and it really cleared me up. A few days later after last dosage I began yellowish post nasal drip and tightness in chest. Urgent care gave me an inhaler and said to take Claritin D. Claritin D cleared me up on day 1 but all congested again on day 2. They gave me a zpack as a backup. Do you think this is something more? Chest still feels heavy not coughing.

I have read about overgrowth and did take cipro 500 mg daily for 5 days and came out of being so weak I could hardly walk episode!..the dr said just try and it helped..thank you! I know taking antibiotics when no fever or culture sounds questionable but it did help a few months ago.....I am in pain a lot but when I am really weak..I wonder if something else is going on..
