5 to 3.5 (2 art heart valves). About 6 to 8 weeks ago, I took augmentin for 10 days, 2 weeks ago, I took another antibiotic for 5 days. Since then, my PT/INR has been too low, 2.0. My diet and meds have stayed the same. I've been increasing my dose, yet it's still too low. Is it normal for this change? Please see my profile! Can it indicate my lupus activity?

He advised against this but gave me a prescription of Azithromycin, with 500mg dosage twice a day for three days. In all my research online, I have read that the recommended dosage is 1g of Azithromycin taken once. Is the dosage I was prescribed as effective?

it sounds like you had an allergic reaction or OD to the Augmentin. My Mom nearly died from Augmentin. It is a very strong drug and sometimes doctors go over board on the dosage. Don't take anymore. Call your doctor and get a different, less harsh antibiotic.

I had an abscess in my right breast 10 years ago and it left a little lump after it healed. Two weeks ago I developed an abscess in the same spot. My GP recommended a week of antibiotics (Augmentin) and it started to drain on its own two days back. I feel a thickened area which hasn't gone down. Should I be worried? Hello, I am desperately seeking answers to my 7 yr old son's problems. About 8 weeks ago, he started complaining of tummy ache after school. Within a couple of days, he also started having headaches always on his forehead. The ped. put him on Amoxycillin due to a possible sinus infection. He also had bloodwork done and his T4 and TSH came at borderline. He responded to the Amox. for a few days and the headaches returned.

I'm suffering inflammation of the tonsils and taking now augmentin 1g (875mg amoxcillin + 125mg clavulanic acid). Also, i take some antiseptic and anti-inflammatory medication like bradoral 0.5 mg (domiphen bromide ). 4 days on augmentin 825 for a chronic dental infection (now a bone infection), I started having major swelling in my hands. This is new, I've never had swelling like this. Yesterday my one hand looked freakishly red and swollen. It was so swollen, that when I straightened out my hand (which was difficult), everything turned white, inbetween the redness. So doctor now has me on Augmention 875 and gentamicin cream the dosage is augumentin 2x day and gent cream 4x days !

I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working. I plan on calling my OB in the morning to double check. They are pregnancy category B. Although they are thought to be safe not many studies have been done on them. I'm nervous about everything. so I took my STD test but before I got the result I panicked thinking of gonorrhea or syphilis and took Augmentin for 3 days. I recently took augmentin for three days, had to discontinue because of allergic reaction ( rash, jitters, fever) Today I awoke with a stiff neck which progressively became worse as the day went on. Now 12 hours later the pain has spread down my back and to all my joints. Could this bee the Augmentin or something more severe. anyone else have side effects AFTER STOPPING augmentin after the full 10 day dose? I have been off for two days and have awful sweating and hot flashes. I am male, and in relatively good shape. bp has been in the 140/70 range for three days. odd stuff. Ive usually had plain ole amoxicillin, but this stuff takes the cake.

Treated with Omnicef, Augmentin, Cliacin, Rocephin Shots, Bactrim, etc. Also on Claritin/Singulair at 10 months for sinus/allergy issues. -Myringotomy at 12 months, with 10 day run of Augmentin and 6 day run of antibiotic ear-drops post-op. -2 subsequent ear infections from 12-16 months. Treated with Augmentin, Bactrim. Still on Claritin/Singulair for sinus/allergy issues. -Second myringotomy and adenoidectomy at 16 months. Very infected sinus cavities and ears.

So He Took It For 10 Days And Then He Started Feeling Better But Not Quite Good. Then Two Days After He Stopped It, He Woke Up At 1 Am With Pain All Over His Tummy, Top, Left, Right Bottom, And Pain In All his Joints AS Well. When He Went To The Doctor, they Just Gave Him More augmentin.

When i was on augmentin all the above symptoms went away however came back 1 or 2 days after i came off the anti biotic. Dr said that if it went away on Augmentin then it must be bacterial - but why would he then prescribe a yeast medication (spandnox -sorry about spelling) - wouldnt augmentin make yeast worse? Has anyone has a similar situation and had success treating the infection?? What was it treated with successfully? Is it possible this is a problem related to Group B strep??
