After two days of treatment, I developed side effects to the Cipro (muscle and joint pain). I was taken off the Cipro and was put on Augmentin (twice a day) for 21 days, which I began taking today. My urologist advised me that if the Augmentin does not work, then there is not a whole lot he can do to improve my condition given that there are no other antibiotics that could be helpful. I just got a PSA done, and I am awaiting the results.
anyone else have side effects AFTER STOPPING augmentin after the full 10 day dose? I have been off for two days and have awful sweating and hot flashes. I am male, and in relatively good shape. bp has been in the 140/70 range for three days. odd stuff. Ive usually had plain ole amoxicillin, but this stuff takes the cake.
m wondering if maybe I should try it again in conjunction with the Augmentin, since it may now have a better chance of working since the 2 teeth were pulled and the bone cleaned out.
My oral surgeon would like to try me on clindamycin again, but my infectious disease doctor says the Augmentin should be fighting all of the bacteria. But it doesn't feel like it is at all, the infection has been getting worse for the past 3 or 4 days.

The allergist still thought I had a sinus infection, so she recommended a sinus CT scan, which showed no infection.
I, too, have a bad taste for the past month since my implants. I've had x-rays to check if there's any infection. Periodontist prescribed amoxicillin, then Augmentin, now Levaquin. It's still there!
and yes I am taking similar to you like Nexium 1x but after seeing what you took I might take it 2x and also Maalox and yes I was taking Augmentin, Levaquin, amoxcillan Mucinex and feel like there is something stuck always at my chest... yes I too feel quality of life has gone down. Due to this I started working out everyday now.... for 1+ hr a day intensively doing Cardio and some weights.
11 weeks ago I was diagnosed with a kidney infection and took a week of Levaquin, then Ceftriaxine IV, then three weeks of Augmentin. I was fine while on the medicine, but two days after I went off I started having diarrhea and/or loose/soft stools. This has lasted for 8 weeks now and so far I've not gotten any answers from the doc. They've put me on probiotics, which I've taken faithfully, to no avail. Augmentin 875/125 2x daily made my hands and abdomen swell very badly and didn't seem to fight the infection that well, but it was also before the 2nd tooth was removed. The pain is becoming unbearable now when i urinate which is about 20+ times a day and 2-3 times during the night,after taking a course of Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanic acid) for 7 days the problem persists and have had to make another appointment to see my doctor this coming Monday,I was told i had a kidney infection after doing a urine sample and that the pills should clear it up,but they didnt work for me.
Recently I saw my MD and she ordered several blood tests and MRI to look for MS and other peripheral neuropathy causes. All blood tests and the MRI were normal. I think that I have had a severe drug reaction and do you think the shooting pain is Levaquin related? I took Ibuprofen for the tendon pain for 2 years starting the day after I finished the Levaquin 3 years ago. Did this increase the nerve damage? I have no balance or muscular strength problems.
Tonight is the first time in almost one month that the tooth has quieted down. I was on levaquin and then Augmentin and no help. Amoxicillan 500 seems to be doing soemthing. I have not taken an antibiotic in years. I only had this test with alot of other testing my gynocologist did. She tried treating me with high powered probiotics first but then after 4 months she tested me again and I was still positive. I have not started taking the Flagyl yet. She had first prescribed the vanomycin but it was so expensive and the pharmacy would have to special order it. So i had her switch to Flagyl.
so I took my STD test but before I got the result I panicked thinking of gonorrhea or syphilis and took Augmentin for 3 days. Now the tests are all negative but considering the window period for some STD, should I finish taking Augmentin as a precaution to get rid of the possible infection? Thank you.

After the 10days I still had a sore throat that feels like an ulcer down my throat, and I also still had about 10 mouth ulcers as well as swollen gums. I went to my Internal MD and he put me on Medrol dose pack and Levaquin. This initially helped w/ the mouth ulcers but the one down my throat got much worse. I was given a Celestone inj and put on Orapred.

I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working.
I plan on calling my OB in the morning to double check. They are pregnancy category B. Although they are thought to be safe not many studies have been done on them. I'm nervous about everything. This is my first pregnancy and I am only 18.

Later, the Pharyngitis got worse and I had to take a dose of Augmentin after my Amox dose. I also developed Allergic Rhinitis and also started having mild eye infection (1st right eye and the then left). Since last 2 days I started having discomfort near my groin and passed a drop of blood late last night with urine.
Yesterday, I went for a Urine analysis and CBC and CMP. Urine analysis shows Blood at 25 high, WBC 20-50 and Leuko at 500 High. The WBC in CBC is 15.9. My FP gave Levaquin now.
