Avatar f tn Hello, Is there anyone, I mean anyone, out there that has rhythmic movement disorder? I have been violently thrashing my body and head, laterally while asleep or mostly somewhat asleep since I can remember. I am 30 now. It use to consume maybe an hour or two a night but now it is getting drastically worse. I find myself doing it or am told that I, "rock", 4-5 hours a night.

1393879 tn?1288729049 If you look outside western medicine, mainly in alternative and complementary medicine, there have been successes in nutritionally helping conditions, including Attention Deficit Disorder, mental conditions, and other conditions. George Eby is one example of how magnesium taurate cleared up his severe depression; it has helped many other people, too. There is a nutritional product: EMPowerPlus and similar, Quiet Minds, that have helped people with ADD, bipolar, depression, etc.
Avatar m tn An Australian study suggests daily dose of fish oil helps calm children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Children in the study were given a commercially available dietary supplement containing a combination of fish oil and evening primrose oil, in a ratio of four to one. They were given just under a gram of fish oil a day. The results showed that children on the active fish oil capsules, rich in omega-3 fatty acids, had improvements in attention, behaviour and vocabulary.
Avatar f tn I sort of liked Huckabee (although I am a liberal) but these religious zealots, especially those that want creationism taught in schools and those that change their minds as the winds blow will certainly not think that the druggie diseases are worth fighting for. Probably want us to crawl in a hole and die. Who was it that NEVER mentioned HIV back in the 80's during his presidency? I agree with Goof. Nothing will be done. And to be fair remember Hillary's health plan?
Avatar n tn I too have this problem with the involuntary breath every so often. I chalked it up to anxiety. I have had anxiety disorder for years. I have had this involuntary breath for maybe 5 years I guess. I had my gallbladder removed maybe 20 yrs. ago. I myself did not experience any problem with this involuntary breathing after that surgery. But, 2 yrs. ago, I was diagnosed with moderate stage COPD. I honestly think that is what causes my involuntary breathing.
Avatar n tn I just had blood work done by my GYN (no other Dr. suggested it) so it'll be 2 weeks before I know any results from that. I also have panic disorder...so being like this for so long has caused that to kick in even more and I'm taking more Xanax. I'm thinking something's just weird this year....and whatever it was, I got it! I've heard of a lot of people being like this this year. I don't have a deviated septum and Dr. said I didn't need surgery...but if it would help me I would try it!
Avatar n tn Probably, I have some type of seronegative arthritis such as a.s. I also have an ai blood disorder. I'm glad I'm SVR and I'll do what I need to do to treat these autoimmune issues as well. In my view, the ai problems are still better than the alternative.
1697690 tn?1329127238 Now I have to decide if I'm going to quit the others CT or Taper...I do have Klonopin for an unrelated Anxiety Disorder and that didn't even touch the anxiety I had withdrawing...so I just stopped it...I'm hoping quitting the last two will be easier..but I'm not so sure how my body's going to react without any foreign substance in it...For me...the anxiety, depression and mental anguish are the worst....Hang in there and we will ALL get thru this together....
Avatar n tn Do you correlate with the initiation of these episodes with any particular event? You might be having a rhythmic movement disorder, which more or less resembles the symptoms or even age related. Has your doctor done a sleep study? You need to continue the medication for couple of weeks as advised by your doctor and try to avoid trigger factors like alcohol, smoking and stress. It is better to consult a neurologist and get evaluated. Take care and updated on your thoughts and progress.
Avatar f tn sometimes it drives me nuts, other times if im not really paying attention I don't notice it much. nerves are a crazy thing. I read where some one who had this problem got some one to punch him in the mouth just so he could get his lip stitched and possibly given something that would help, and of course it didn't. but its probably true that 85% of people who had this issue NEVER recover while the 15% recover in 6 months to a year.
Avatar n tn FYI, I also ordered the posture book you recommended and am going to immediately start paying attention to my mid-back posture etc. This is likely a heal-thyself issue due to weakness in the back. Good luck, y'all!
