Astelin vs veramyst

Common Questions and Answers about Astelin vs veramyst

astelin

Avatar m tn Thanks for the answer. I visited my dentist just about 2 weeks ago and reported the sinus and tooth pain problems. He checked the x-ray, teeth, and gums and found no issues. The tooth pain tracks the yellow mucus. Thanks for the suggestion. Sinus Dynamics is an inhaled anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, antifungal. I found it on a web search.
Avatar n tn Hi All, I have been suffering headaches, scratchy throat, malaise, vertigo and eustachian tube dysfunction for the past 4 months, ever since getting over a bout of Otitis Media. After several rounds of antibiotics and 8 weeks on Veramyst, my symptoms haven't improved. I finally went to an allergist yesterday, and had a postive skin-test for dust mite.
Avatar m tn Hello everyone, I have suffered from seasonal allergy attacks, and my current doctor suggested I have rhinitis. I have been taking Veramyst nasal spray for about 6 months now. About 4 months ago I went to my doctor and asked him for a testosterone test which came back normal, I also asked him to run some blood work because I was always fatigued and took naps most days around 3pm. Everything came back normal.
Avatar f tn I have taken Astelin before being cured of hepatitis C. Astelin doesn't produce serious side effects like you are claiming. Your symptoms maybe connected to hepatitis C but very much doubt it's connect to Astelin and Hepatitis C. Regardless, I can tell you that I experience nothing like what you are suggesting while taking Astelin.
Avatar m tn Yes, I have all those symptoms. My allergies give me those weird symptoms and more. Allegra, Singulair, Astelin, Veramyst, and staying inside with Air on helps me. Good luck.
Avatar n tn I would start by giving the Veramyst more time. It should reduce the inflamation of the olefactory nerve that is most likely causing your phantom smoke smell. In addition to that, you should research phantosmia ( searching parosmia might help you find them faster). There are several groups devoted to the subject out there with good resources and tips. Hang in there. My friends who have dealt with it did get better.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have several suggestions. First, add a sinus rinse to your routine. They sound gros, but they are so effective. Another thought is to cosider trying Patanase instead of the Astelin. Astelin wasn't a problem for me, but it sucesseors Astepro and Astepro 0.15% were horrible. I felt better when I didn't use the med then when I did. I got very congested after using it and it lasted about 5 hour with constant, Astepro drainage. Lastly, it may be time to consider allergy shots.
Avatar n tn I recently heard about this allergy nasal spray called Veramyst and called my physician for a perscription. They told me they could not perscribe because of my melanoma diagnosis. Because this medication is a steroid they do not perscribe to patients with melanoma and I would need permission from my oncologist. I don't understand how this nasal spray could have any effect on my melanoma diagnosis.
Avatar f tn ve also been taking Atenolol and spraying copious amount of Astelin nasal spray up my nose several times in the evening and at night. I have even been letting it run down the back of my throat and swallowing it because it's the only thing that makes me feel at least somewhat relaxed and sleepy. However, I have begun to wonder if the Astelin and/or Atenolol might be actually aggravating my anxiety symptoms and making me feel worse.
Avatar m tn it revealed several polyps through out my sinuses, pus in my left cheek sinus, and airpocket in another sinus, deviated septum and my turbinates are 4x larger then they should be .im on xyzyal which is like zyrtec, veramyst, singular and i take claritin every day...
Avatar n tn methylprednisolone(steroidpack),clerinex, avelox,&i called her got cheratussin ac syrup, veramyst spray(this dries my nose so i dont take it eryday), halls, soup, hot h2 o, more soup, hot cocoa,& gained 4 lbs. in 3 days HA!
Avatar n tn A quick trip to the doctor and I was told that I had some kind of nasty allergic reaction which clogged my sinuses, gave me a post nasal drip which in turn caused the sore throat and asthma to act up. She prescribed Astelin, a nasal spray antihistamine and described the allergic reaction as a sort of systemic thing and that the astelin should clear it all up. That was Wednesday. I've been using it as told since then and I've only really noticed a very very slight improvement.
Avatar f tn My daughter takes singulair every night and still has asthma and allergies flare ups. Veramyst nasal spray works best for me and nasonex is ok. I don't know which antihistamine medicine works best, I've tried them all too and they all have a side effect,.
Avatar n tn (i first came up with this because i also took astelin and that produced similar bronchospasms...now i see that astelin has BAC in common with combivent and albuterol, etc.). now my internist has order a blood sugar test and an eye test....so i'm really getting worried. thanks for your help.
Avatar n tn I have had post nasal drip as long as I can remember. I am a 52 yr old mail, 5'9", 195lbs. My PND gummed up the back of my throat enough in July of this year to wake me everytime I nod off. I am now on sleep medication, clonazepam, Lunesta, now but which is barely working, Atavan is better and I can sleep but sedatives cannot be taken forever and this PND doesn't seem to be going away.
Avatar f tn She said that I have fluid built up behind my ears but no sign of infection. Now, she prescribed steroids (Medrol Dosepack 4 mg) to take for the next 6 days and Astelin nasal spray. She wants to refer me to an ENT if this hasn't helped in 2 weeks. What is going to happen from there? Why am I having these issues? I'm getting really frustrated by this and I'm tired of dealing with it. This has been ongoing for over 4 months now!
Avatar m tn would a nasal spray help with the clicking and head aches and feeling of a full head and ear??
Avatar n tn Now, its happening and I think its due to the allegeries I am having, I have been on Allegra D for quite awhile, but it got so bad with the ragweed, I needed veramyst to sleep, I was THAT congested! Then I ran out and sure enough, and yesterday my left ear started ringing and my teeth started aching...did some poking around and sure enough, people on antihistamines and allergy meds are very suspetible to it. And by stopping, I made it worse...
Avatar n tn The only changes that I can think of, are that I began allergy shots about a month ago and have been taking Veramyst nasal spray. What is wrong and what should I do?
Avatar m tn I had noticed a small amount of sound delay while in the car listening to the radio prior to this, but had thought nothing of it. I was told to take Veramyst to help with my ear drums, and after taking Veramyst for a few days, I was able to watch TV, look at electronic screens, and focus on things for prolonged periods of time with no problem, but was still having the regular everyday out of body feelings. By the way, these feelings can occur any where between every minute to a half hour apart.
Avatar n tn I have googled it to no end. He also put me on Astelin which has helped a ton and he said Docs cant be so quick to judge and just call everything allergies. The reason I dont have allergies is I am just congested in the face and nose I dont have anyother sypmtoms such as Itchy anything or sore throats.
Avatar f tn I feel your pain. I have had chronic sinusitis for probably 25 years. I was a smoker and all of the doctors said what can you expect, you are a smoker. I quit 20 years ago and the chronic sinusitis never let up. I have had the classic allergy tests and gone in for shots 3x per week and that did nothing. I have gone to a dozen allergists and they have tried sprays and medicine that work for a month and assumed that I had asthma which none of the treatments work.
Avatar n tn 5mg prn ( about once a week , which does help but makes me tired) and chochizine one daily, Flonase and Astelin for seasonal allergies/ sinus but still continue with chest heaviness, light headedness, neck aches and what seems to be feelings of anxiety . So, here are my questions, have you seen such a collection of symptoms after meningitis? Do you think that what I am experiencing is even related to having meningitis?
