I have taken Astelin before being cured of hepatitis C. Astelin doesn't produce serious side effects like you are claiming. Your symptoms maybe connected to hepatitis C but very much doubt it's connect to Astelin and Hepatitis C. Regardless, I can tell you that I experience nothing like what you are suggesting while taking Astelin.
You can get it OTC in Nasacort nasal spray. Just spray you know where a few times in the evening (when it itched the most fir me). Five days later and everything is gone. Like a miracle.

I have several suggestions.
First, add a sinus rinse to your routine. They sound gros, but they are so effective.
Another thought is to cosider trying Patanase instead of the Astelin. Astelin wasn't a problem for me, but it sucesseors Astepro and Astepro 0.15% were horrible. I felt better when I didn't use the med then when I did. I got very congested after using it and it lasted about 5 hour with constant, Astepro drainage.
Lastly, it may be time to consider allergy shots.
I find myself waking up in the night short of breath, almost as if I am hyperventilating. Getting more cross-ventilation in my room and to using Nasacort helps ease the problem. However, the problem persists in varying degrees. I have a deviated septum and persistent rhinitis. Any advice would be welcome.
I currently take Xyzal and Nasacort for allergies and medication for asthma (Singulair and Symbicort). I'm also taking allergy shots for cat dander and grass pollens. When I go running by wooded areas I get a horrible runny nose. My runny nose goes away about 10-15 minutes after I get inside from my run. I'm wondering if it could be from allergies or if it could be from something else.

ve also been taking Atenolol and spraying copious amount of Astelin nasal spray up my nose several times in the evening and at night. I have even been letting it run down the back of my throat and swallowing it because it's the only thing that makes me feel at least somewhat relaxed and sleepy.
However, I have begun to wonder if the Astelin and/or Atenolol might be actually aggravating my anxiety symptoms and making me feel worse.

The doctor at her school decided she didn't need anything done and didn't need to come back for an exam for another year. That August BEFORE she was diagnosed, we both performed oral sex on each other. I then left at the end of August for an internship in Washington D.C.
Thanks. I did have a cold and the Dr. gave me a sample nasal spray called Nasacort. I tried it for 11 days straight and didn't get any good results so I just quit using it. I'm going to try it again, maybe this time it will work. I would like to smell again. Thanks for your input.

A quick trip to the doctor and I was told that I had some kind of nasty allergic reaction which clogged my sinuses, gave me a post nasal drip which in turn caused the sore throat and asthma to act up. She prescribed Astelin, a nasal spray antihistamine and described the allergic reaction as a sort of systemic thing and that the astelin should clear it all up. That was Wednesday. I've been using it as told since then and I've only really noticed a very very slight improvement.
I used Biaxin (anti-biotics), started with Symbicort (puffer), then on Alvesco and now I am on Nasacort, Advair and Aerius. Is this a post virus cough, asthma or something else...your thoughts?

You should get a nasal steroid such a Flonase or Nasacort and start using it a month or so before the allergy season starts. These are prescription medications but Flonase is now generic so it should be cheaper now. It really works great.
I have a horrible cough and it produces a very thick white mucus lumps. He gave me a breathing treatment, A 3 in1 shot, nasacort spray, and Ala-Hist. He said that I now have Asthma.
Is there anything else that could be done. None of this has had any affect on this crud. Is there something else to do. I think I have something wrong in the lungs or in the sinus. Nothing has helped.
(i first came up with this because i also took astelin and that produced similar bronchospasms...now i see that astelin has BAC in common with combivent and albuterol, etc.).
now my internist has order a blood sugar test and an eye test....so i'm really getting worried. thanks for your help.
I had done mri year back and it showed infection in forehead and cyst on left side of face....i am taking nasacort and fexofenadine hcl for months and tried other antihistamine also, but the symtoms persist....i am a liver patient with conginetal hepatic fibrosis and 31 years....liver enzymes r normal....should i take antibotics if so which one and dosae and days? And what else can i do....
What kind of nasal spray? Is it a prescription like Nasacort or Flonase or the OTC stuff like Afrin? If it's Afrin that is not supposed to be used all the time, it's really bad. If your nose is bleeding, that could be an infection or maybe from the spray. I'm not sure about the blood pressure.
I think you should try to wean off the Afrin. You are probably having what's called *rebound* congestion. Read the label on it. It tells you not to use for more than 3 days.
I have had post nasal drip as long as I can remember. I am a 52 yr old mail, 5'9", 195lbs. My PND gummed up the back of my throat enough in July of this year to wake me everytime I nod off. I am now on sleep medication, clonazepam, Lunesta, now but which is barely working, Atavan is better and I can sleep but sedatives cannot be taken forever and this PND doesn't seem to be going away.
She said that I have fluid built up behind my ears but no sign of infection. Now, she prescribed steroids (Medrol Dosepack 4 mg) to take for the next 6 days and Astelin nasal spray. She wants to refer me to an ENT if this hasn't helped in 2 weeks. What is going to happen from there? Why am I having these issues? I'm getting really frustrated by this and I'm tired of dealing with it. This has been ongoing for over 4 months now!

Initially, this is how it all seemed to start as well w/a cold turning into an infection. I am on Nasacort and I do take allergy shots b/c I do have allergies. I have tried Astelin but it seems to make my nose really really dry. I've been on allergy shots since 2005. when I lay down at night I sleep on my right side to keep my left turbinate from swelling up like a balloon and smothering me. Sometimes I can feel the bubbles pop in my nose when the turbinate swells...
