Astelin or astepro

Common Questions and Answers about Astelin or astepro

astelin

Avatar f tn Hi, I have several suggestions. First, add a sinus rinse to your routine. They sound gros, but they are so effective. Another thought is to cosider trying Patanase instead of the Astelin. Astelin wasn't a problem for me, but it sucesseors Astepro and Astepro 0.15% were horrible. I felt better when I didn't use the med then when I did. I got very congested after using it and it lasted about 5 hour with constant, Astepro drainage. Lastly, it may be time to consider allergy shots.
Avatar m tn He has been to an allergist a few years ago foudn out he was allergic to trees, grass etc and animal dander and was prescribed steroid spray and it helped some after a few days but I wanted to know is there new drugs that will help or should we just try to suffer through? Someone has mentioned antihistimine spray??? PLease give any and all advice on heling his allergies.
Avatar f tn You might try to get in with your primary and see if he/she will prescribe some thing like Nasonex and/or Astepro. Nasonex is a nasal steroid which reduces inflammation of the sinus passages and therefore reduces allergy symptoms. There are many other name brands for that class of medicine. Astepro is a nasal spray antihistamine. It stops the sinus cells from reacting to allergens. There are only two meds in this category. Astepro and Patanase.
Avatar f tn She said that I have fluid built up behind my ears but no sign of infection. Now, she prescribed steroids (Medrol Dosepack 4 mg) to take for the next 6 days and Astelin nasal spray. She wants to refer me to an ENT if this hasn't helped in 2 weeks. What is going to happen from there? Why am I having these issues? I'm getting really frustrated by this and I'm tired of dealing with it. This has been ongoing for over 4 months now!
Avatar n tn s flonase spray and Astepro, spray ?? 15%.
Avatar f tn I have taken Astelin before being cured of hepatitis C. Astelin doesn't produce serious side effects like you are claiming. Your symptoms maybe connected to hepatitis C but very much doubt it's connect to Astelin and Hepatitis C. Regardless, I can tell you that I experience nothing like what you are suggesting while taking Astelin.
Avatar n tn Hi, I've had a very distressing problem that's been going on for about a year now. I have a constant feeling of phlegm in my throat, though I'm not able to cough anything up, and while I am always clearing my throat, it barely helps for more than a minute or so.
1687346 tn?1305586491 Some other things you may want to try are sinus rinses, a pulmacort sinus rinse instead of the Nasonex, and Patanase instead of the Astepro. Astepro really stuffed me up while I was on it. Patanase works much better for me. You may also want to see an allergist for testing and possible shots. I was going to ask how old you are, but I will refrain.
Avatar n tn On Sunday I thought I was coming down with a cold. Figuring it wasn't too bad I went to work and ended up coming home feeling like ****. I developed the typical clogged sinuses, sore throat, and cough I usually get. Here's the kicker: when I get a cold it starts out with a pretty weak case of the clogged sinuses and sore throat and then migrates into a nasty chest cold that takes a while to get over.
612551 tn?1450022175 My personal interest in this Community is my chronic night time (sleep time) nasal congestion. I have tried the generic for Flonase (fluticasone) which didn't help much, not ow Astepro (not a steroid) which is a little more help, but none are as good as the over the counter Afrin (or similar) which can not be used for long periods. This congestion led me to recognize I have some trouble waking up with a suffocation sensession. .
Avatar f tn I take zyrtec, singulair, flonase and astepro for the allergies and sinus. My ENT is stumped. How can I get my taste and smell back?
Avatar n tn I am ok during the day, when my throat momentarily clogs, the phlegm bubble pops and I am fine, but at night my brain is convinced I am drowing and all sorts of things apparently happen, namely I wake up with the fight or flight sensation, when this happens 4 or 5 times over a 20 minute period sleep, anxiety takes over and sleep is over, I can go days without sleep, then back back to the doctor for mor narcotics.
Avatar n tn Do you use Astepro nasal spray? That stuff has four artificial sweetners in it and makes me sick because of its sweetness.
Avatar m tn would a nasal spray help with the clicking and head aches and feeling of a full head and ear??

Avatar m tn We have newborns in the NICU and the last thing I want to do is get them ill. I have stayed away throughout the week not able to differentiate my allergy symptoms from a cold or flu. I have seen two doctors and they have not been able to find anything that indicates a virus thus far. I have had a fluctuating body temperature from mid 97 range to mid 99 range. When I am at the medical offices I have had a normal temp.
Avatar f tn g. Astepro, Nosenex, Symbicort, Singulair) Are there any food, additives, or environmental things connected with the ibuprofen allergy? Any additional test besides the obvious ones I should have?
463897 tn?1468013750 t know if this is related to the cough, but when I am stressed out, I get clusters of bruises on my arms. (a circle of 5 or 6 small bruises) I also have tenderness in the right upper quadrant (cholecystectomy in 07), with occasional severe cramping, nauseating symptoms. I am currently on plaquinel, nexium 2x/daily, and astepro nasal spray. I also take tylenol arthritis for pain. What could possibly be going on?
Avatar f tn It is possible your husband has a non-allergic inflammation of the upper airways called vasomotor rhinitis. This can cause drainage and can be quite annoying to some. This gets worse with different temperatures, certain foods, increased activity or generally anything that increases blood flow to the area. One therapy that sometimes works for this condition is a nasal inhaled steroid which temporarily decreases the inflammation, but does not cure anything.
Avatar m tn This could be a case of eczema like the one you have on your hand. Also SLE or lupus should be ruled out as it typically causes rash on the face on either side of nose. Also it could be due to contact dermatitis due to any eye cosmetic or any other cosmetic you use. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn I've used several bottles, or several months, of Fluticasone Propionate, which is a steroid nasal spray... I think it is the generic of Flonase. It may be that I can't tell because I am in permanent atrial fibrillation. But I haven't identified any problems other than it doesn't help reduce my nasal congestion. I just switched to Astepro, not a steroid, and it too doesn't give my congestion much relief.
Avatar m tn Instead, I have been taking it once every 24. I also stopped using the nasal spray he gave me after the second day (astepro). I was feeling much better at that point. I started taking the meds about a week ago. Prior to my doctor visit I stayed home from work for eight days (luckily school was cancelled). Anyway, I started to feel sinus pressure again last night. By the time I had put my head down to sleep I felt much worse than I had ever felt before.
Avatar n tn I have googled it to no end. He also put me on Astelin which has helped a ton and he said Docs cant be so quick to judge and just call everything allergies. The reason I dont have allergies is I am just congested in the face and nose I dont have anyother sypmtoms such as Itchy anything or sore throats.
Avatar n tn all i have is my nose that gets blocked so often that i have to breathe with mouth and also have a permanent sore throat. currently in indiana. If someone can give me professional advice or recommend a specialist it would be appreciated!!! As i think my condition keeps getting worse. also i smoke but the doctor tell me it has no relation to my allergies!(i'm quitting) and when i stop smoking it gets a looot worse as i have much more mucus coming. (seen doctors in both india and US) .
