Avatar m tn I have a NEW G.I. doc who keeps referring me to a colonoscopy and an MRCP before she decides to do anything but I've had a flare-up of UC for a month and need some relief. Today I saw a whole Asacol HD tablet excreted and the G.I.doc said "that's ok--it's still absorbed." Ok--so now I must be reasonable and ask a question as how is it absorbed when NONE OF IT--repeat, NONE OF IT---is degraded at all? This woman doesn't get it. Anyway, what should I do now?
Avatar n tn I started taking Asacol HD about one week ago. I noticed this morning that I had 3 whole pills in my stool. One pill looked like it was open on one side, but had something white still in it. Not sure about the others. Is this normal to see whole pills in stool, and to see three at one time?
Avatar n tn Crystalens is in my opinion the best choice. I have put it in a patient in his early 30s and he did very well.
Avatar m tn s disease for at least 2-3 years... I am currently taking ASACOL HD 800mg 2 tabs twice a day.. i also have ulcerated colitis... I have ocasional diarrhea nothing to bad. Avatar f tn Well I'm a stay at home mom. But when my bf gets paid we pay rent and whatever other bills we have then I take 100$ and hide it in our savings and it isn't allowed to be touched. Then whatever extra we spend. We're still working on it being our money haha because I still feel uncomfortable asking for money or just taking it and buying something. Its weird we live together and been together for 4 years its just weird to me.
539750 tn?1226521677 I spent an hour on the phone with the bank to see if they could reinstate our account while they do their investigation, this is obviously fraud – plus I couldn’t be in two places at once. I was using my debit card in San Diego, where I live will this criminal was using my card. That upsets me more then anything! The supervisor said they tried to call us, at an old number from six years ago.
Avatar n tn You are only one week out. I usually keep my patient in reader for two weeks then start the exercise card. If distance and intermediate is good, the near should improve. However, you will not get the maximum benefit until your right eye is done. Since it can not accommodate, it may limit your near. Accommodation is a binocular function. Dr. O.

Avatar f tn So I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis just about two years ago and I'm 9 weeks 1 day today, and I've noticed my symptoms of uc are flaring up again, even with being on asacol hd. This poses an issue, because I need to eat healthy for baby. Normally I can adjust what I eat and everything balances out after a few days, but with the pregnancy going on not much of anything sounds good, especially uc safe foods.
Avatar m tn Does anyone know how to interpret the patient id card you get after surgery? I am trying to figure out if the lens was specified correctly but the wrong lens was sent and implanted or if the lens was made correctly and the specs were wrong. I want to make sure I don't get the old run around when I go back to the surgeon. The specs on the card are: Model SN6AT5 Power 167.00D - 3.00 cyl Length 13.00mm Optic 6.0mm Any help would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn Regarding near vision with HD. HD eyes are harder to refract. Patients tend to accommodate. If near was not good make sure you are on target and have 0.50 diopters of astigmatism or less. Yagging the anterior capsule can decrease a minimal amount of hyperopia and improve your near. Also, 1% pilocarpine can also improve your near vision. Dr. O.
Avatar m tn i was prescribed asacol 2x 400mg, 3 times a day for two weeks. after this time i was also diagnosed with CKD at stage 3a with a GFR of 53 and a creatinine clearance of 87.14ml/min. i took asacol again for one month at a reduced rate of 1x 400mg, 3 times a day (3-4 tablets recommended for prevention of relapse). then i stopped taking it for 2 months. i took asacol again at 1x400mg, 2 times a day for 2 months.

Avatar m tn CalGal, Final diagnosis of colonoscopy 1) Ileum biopsy: small intestine mucosa w no significant histopathologic findings. 2) Random colon biopsy: colonic mucosa w mild chronic inflammation of the lamina propria. Microscopic description said everything was normal except for "there are areas w a mild increase in stromal inflammatory cells, predominately lymphocytes. Intraepithelial inflammatory cells are not increased".
Avatar m tn I take asacol 3 times a day and it keeps me in remission. As for food, some people have triggers (milk, nuts, etc...). Best to keep a food journal for a while to see if you react to certain things. I eat pretty much everything, but for some reason I get irritation from roasted meats--almost instantly. Watch out for dairy aswell, as lactose is difficult to digest and can cause problems in a sensitive colon.
Avatar n tn t finalized the lens choice yet, but I am leaning toward Crystalens HD. The doctor claimed that the HD costs him quite a bit more than the plain Crystalens, although he isn't yet passing those extra costs along. Are you aware of a wholesale and/or retail cost difference between Crystalens and Crystalens HD?
686769 tn?1236272131 it helped me out tremendously... i did it before and received asacol, not sure if asacol will even work for you, but i found it to be more effective than pentasa. also there's a generic available for steroid enemas (not proctor and gamble), i believe... still expensive but helps out.
Avatar n tn 00 and with insurance and the opana savings card thay are $20.00 and that savings card is only good for 12 refills! If the doc didn't offer you one you should ask if the price is high?
Avatar n tn I also have been taking Flowmax for over six years. My primary question is how does the patient and/or doctor determine which type of lens that are best for the cataract surgery/patient (how is the lens selection made)? What questions should I ask the opthamologist during my first visit about the surgery and after the cataract surgery is completed? The crystalens HD appear to be theoretically a good choice but have seen some problems with this type of lens on this forum.
Avatar n tn I have noticed that my asacol is not breaking down and is being passed in my stool! Is their a reason for this? What can/should I do?
