t know anything about that - all I know is that before Aricept, I was in a gray mist, and after five months of Aricept, everything seemed to make more sense. Before Aricept, it was as if I had low water pressure - I just couldn't get enough juice in my brain to put thoughts together. On Aricept, suddenly my brain could make connections.
The only trippy thing I noticed was an almost hi-def moire behind my eyeballs when I went to sleep.
If a person has not been diagnosed with alzheimers but is taking aricept, is it okay? will it hurt to be taking it?
my mum was diagnosed with alzaheimer in October 2008, she was prescriped dogmatile fort 200, aricept, trittico and lustral, I wonder if this combination goes well as she is more depessed since she took the medication.
My husband has been taking 10mg of Aricept for 2 years now and I have not noticed any significant difference in his memory. Actually, my observation is his memory is becoming worse. I'm struggling with whether I should discontinue the medication since I don't see improvement and because it is quite costly. I also know Aricept is designed to slow down the dementia so if I discontinue it I'm wondering if he will become worse much faster.
I have been taking aricept for about 9 months. It is hard to tell if there is an improvement. It has been a while since I forgot my way home but I still forget a lot of little stuff. I keep taking it because I am convinced it cant hurt anything and it just might help a little.

If someone has a small cavernoma and is asymptomatic, received a mild TBI due to motor incident would this be the cause of the bleed? or is it purely genetic and going to happen regardless of the TBI??
The combination of TBI and addiction is very difficult to treat. I do not know of specialized centers for that combination, but as both are unfortunately all too common, most large treatment centers or University-based programs would have experience with the combination. There are a few medications that reduce impulsive behavior to some extent-- primarily the atypical antipsychotics-- but they are not much of a match for opiate dependence.
My question is a (simple) one so I suffered a TBI seven years ago what on earth would my liver have to do with any of this?

After a clipping of PCOM aneursym I became increasing fatigued and apathetic- to the point of being close to non-functional. Testing showed I now have a verbal learning deficit, but my MRI is normal. A neurologist decided to treat it as TBI and prescribed the Amantadine. He said it might improve my memory, but what actually happened was a huge change in perception and the disappearance of the fatigue.
I suffered a TBI years ago. Currently on disability because of this. I have never exercised trying to improve energy, strength or emotions. But if you have a true TBI you know how hard motivation can be. Has someone started excercising and noted a difference.
I am not on any depressant but reading more literature on tbi I need to at least join a tbi group in the community. I do have a very good support system of older children and friends and extened family. You are not alone. Keep your head up. Everyone has a story. It does get better. You can only pray and be productive. something which i am learning is not one of my strong points in frontal lobe tbi.
If I almost hit my head in bus caused by speed changes of it, can it cause tbi? My bus driver is driving pretty bad, he always use brake and accelerate the bus. That makes me move my upper body and head throughout the way. Should I be concerned for TBI?
its been 8 months since my mothers TBI- she had a seizure yesterday-she has been off keppra for 1 1/2 months-the side effects of keppra are aweful-they ask her questions and wonder why she is out of it and doesn't know her last name-(after they gave her keppra in the hospital) what can she take that is less evasive to her health and recovery??

I am confused as to which is the most important issue and how I approach each. I see a neurologist this week and have been placed on Aricept. Yet still the confusion lingers. Please give me some directive on which is the most imperative issue.
What did the teacher do for you while in the classroom after you suffered a TBI. The reason I ask this is because I am doing a report on TBI and I want to know since I am going to be a teacher one day. What can I do to help you the person who has the TBI. If there is something a teacher should know when they come in contact with a student that has a TBI let me know as well. Thanks for your time and understanding.
