aricept best time to take

Hi everyone, it's been a LONG time since I've posted anything on the forum, but I have a question and hope to get feedback from anyone who can help. My neurologist wants me to start on Aricept for my cognitive issues. Apparently it just became available in generic about 3 weeks ago, but she gave me a month's sample of the actual Aricept. I'm excited to take it (I'm going to start it tomorrow so I have a few weekend days to know how it affects me), especially if it helps!

Somebody asked on another thread how the Aricept was working out, so I thought I'd post an update... So far, I haven't seen any of the negative side effects of Aricept. I'm on the 5 mg dose, which is the lowest it gets, and I have really noticed an improvement in my memory and my multi-tasking abilities. I'm able to remember phone numbers, and cook a complicated meal. (Made pork lo mein on Tuesday... yum.) I also seem to be grouchier, and less tolerant than I used to be.

Hi advice777, I would ask the prescriber to reconsider. I do not know the effect of any of the drugs you mention but it takes time to find the right combination of drugs. Maybe another combination would help her better? Depression is common when having alzheimer's. Some patients who have alzheimer's knows that they are forgetting things and that something affects their short-term memory but they can't remember exactly what it is.

t know anything about that - all I know is that before Aricept, I was in a gray mist, and after five months of Aricept, everything seemed to make more sense. Before Aricept, it was as if I had low water pressure - I just couldn't get enough juice in my brain to put thoughts together. On Aricept, suddenly my brain could make connections. The only trippy thing I noticed was an almost hi-def moire behind my eyeballs when I went to sleep.

Just wondering what is the best time to take valtrex if on suppressive therapy 500mg X1 day?

Its great to hear that some of you have experienced no or few side effects. Please tell me what you suggest is the best time of day to take the double pill dosage. I am so thrilled to hear of your successes with this treatment. God Bless.

I will start tx soon and would like some input as to the best time to take meds, injection once a week and oral meds every 8 hours. My five y/o grand daughter, and her mom (full time college student) live with me. I was thinking Thurs. or Fri. for injection (would like to attend church Sun) and 6am, 2pm, and 10pm for oral meds.

In order to keep best our kidney, what time should be take a pill of viread? Am or pm?

m momentarily off the Aricept, my work performance has declined. Basically it looks like I have to keep taking Aricept in order to do my job. So my question is, do I tell my employer about my cognitive problems? It sounds like I could lose my job, get a poor performance evaluation, all that that implies, because I'm having cognitive difficulties. My immediate supervisor knows about my diagnosis. Will revealing that I'm having cognitive problems be a bad idea?

Hey, I took Aricept for five months to get over some cog fog. It was amazing, and kinda reassuring. I started with some samples, and noticed a difference immediately - I could follow directions, count change, remember conversations... Every time I ran out, I would wait a day or so and see if I noticed a difference. After five months, I reached a point where I felt normal without the Aricept - yay! I highly recommend it.

Don't know at all, John, but I'd take it if they offered it, just to see if it helped. That is, after I read the fine print; I know nearly nothing about the drug. Had another Neuropsych eval at Cleveland Clinic this week. For all I know, they might ask me to try it. Lost my mom to early-onset Alzheimer's back in '82; Aricept has always been out there on my "gotta look at that someday" list. Best wishes to you, in any case, and have a blessed Christmas.

Hello. It is important for you to decide if the symptoms are due to early onset Alzheimer's disease or the cyst. The symptoms due to the Alzheimer’s disease are more related to cognition, memory, etc. A cyst may produce similar symptoms, but it is usually an acute or sub acute finding. In all probabilities, your cyst is an incidental finding when the MRI was done. Alzheimer's disease is the one you should focus on. Aricept is a good drug.

Hi, I am not sure but you can discuss this with your PCP. I think he might be having what is called as short term memory loss which is why he keeps forgetting this. I think you should discuss with your PCP regarding a drug called Aricept. This should be started only on prescription of your treating physician. It is used for treatment of Alzheimer’s, but is helpful for short term memory loss. Aricept is a drug of choice to treat Alzheimer's, but its use is not restricted.

I went to my PCP yesterday morning because my neurologist's office recommended I see her for a possible medication interaction causing my seizures... well, as you can guess, there is no medication interaction. My PCP, who's a nice intelligent grandma-type, thought this was an issue for the neurologist. She also gave me a sample of an inhaler for asthma, although so far it hasn't helped my shortness of breath.

I have been taking aricept for about 9 months. It is hard to tell if there is an improvement. It has been a while since I forgot my way home but I still forget a lot of little stuff. I keep taking it because I am convinced it cant hurt anything and it just might help a little.

My husband has been taking 10mg of Aricept for 2 years now and I have not noticed any significant difference in his memory. Actually, my observation is his memory is becoming worse. I'm struggling with whether I should discontinue the medication since I don't see improvement and because it is quite costly. I also know Aricept is designed to slow down the dementia so if I discontinue it I'm wondering if he will become worse much faster.

I last came on my period aug 30 I tested sept 29 nd got a negative test I tested again Oct 8 nd I got confirmation from the er tues so I say wait to see if ur late..

When is the best time to take Celexa? My dr just started me on 5mg and told me to take it at 8pm. I did that now its 445 am and im still not sleeping....I had to take my effexor in the afternoon , should I take it then, or take it in the morning or stick with night, Im so confused and just want to get better and be able to sleep...Thanks!!!
