Common Questions and Answers about Aricept side effects dreams

aricept

Avatar f tn t dreaming at all after my relapse, and sleep was just this dark pit I fell into. I started taking Aricept, and started dreaming. At first they were boring filing dreams, but gradually I began dreaming more interesting dreams. I mark it as a sign that your brain is getting better if you're dreaming.
Avatar m tn If a person has not been diagnosed with alzheimers but is taking aricept, is it okay? will it hurt to be taking it?
Avatar n tn t mean at all its the wrong medication generally. Its just it has a fair amount of side effects for some people. But as anti-Parkinsonian medications can cause depression and other personality alterations that might be the one. I''d say best to relocate your question to the neurology forum as unless she had depression beforehand, because if it came from Alzheimer's and its neurological in origin the treatment will be very different.
1037077 tn?1253480282 I would not consider dreams to be a side effect of the medication, but instead an opening to learn more about why you are taking medications in the first place.
Avatar n tn As lagoya mentioned, you may or may not experience side effects. If so, they range from annoying side effects to serious side effects. If it's helpful, when I took flecainide, I had weird dreams, shakiness, tremors and gastointestinal problems. It wasn't horrible, but it was bothersome enough that the doctor switched me to rhythmol. Great suggestion from lagoya on checing out the medication under "Health Topics" above.
Avatar n tn i don't know about the dreams, but mood swings and lack of concentration are most definitely side effects.
Avatar f tn While the Inderal has helped lower the BP and heart rate, I am having significant side effects from it and just wondered if others had experienced the same thing. I am quite fatigued but the most disturbing thing is I'm having very vivid and scary dreams. Has this happened to anyone else?
422425 tn?1307992990 I'm glad Tramadol is working for you. Does it help you sleep better? Just a thought - if you are sleeping harder and maybe on your back you could be having those dreams because you are really experiencing a feeling like you are drowning while you are sleeping - if that makes sense? Maybe try using pillows so you don't end up on your back while you sleep?
Avatar f tn A good idea would be to find out if they interract together well, does your wife have any side effects if she feels okay then dont rock the boat,The pharmasist at your drug store may be able to help telling you more, he will put them in hisPC to check.
Avatar n tn It has been observed that Aricept improves cognition and function, which includes effects on memory and performing everyday tasks, hence it would have been prescribed. The effect of memory is exerted through one such chemical called acetylcholine. This chemical helps carry messages from nerve cell to nerve cell in the brain. Memory is lost by disrupting these messages between cells. It is thought that Aricept may help reduce the breakdown of this chemical. Hope this helps. Bye.
653169 tn?1303446369 ve been told the start up side effects on Neurontin are about the same as Lyrica and it took me a little less than a week for that sleepy dopey feeling to subside, and after that I felt ABSOLUTELY normal- like I hadn't taken anything whatsoever. You are on a very SMALL dose, so you'll adjust to it quickly. I'll tell you a funny story- my first week on Lyrica- I accidentally backed out of my garage when the garage door was only half way open.
900662 tn?1469390305 After discussion with MS Neuro and my wife , we agreed that I should start Aricept , it is used mostly for Alzheimer, so its off label and he says it has shown great results. I do have a damaged working memory and slower processing speed, cognitive impairment effects every day in some small way. I won't reveal to any other family or friends that I ve stated this med, I just think I would feel self-conscious about people looking for my errors and mistakes.
Avatar f tn My Doctor just switch my medication from 150 mg of Effexor XR to 400 mg of Seroquel XR. I dropped my dosage of Effexor gradually but I still experienced terrible withdrawl. Now I am experiencing bad side effects, " I'm guessing ths", from the Seroquel. I have gained weight in my stomach area very rapidly, I have pain and stiffness in my legs, 24 hour dry mouth and sinuses and I feel like I could cry at the drop of a hat.
Avatar m tn Many of the antidepressants can cause stomach issues. I can't really recommend anything because I'm not a Dr but I think you should talk to your Dr about this and ask what you can safely take with the Effexor.
2129735 tn?1336423434 I was wondering if this was from side effects from the meds or just a pos op side effecr. Has anyone had these side effects from any of those meds. Thank you for any insight you have!
Avatar n tn I have been prescribed Acebutolol for PVC's and I am literally exhausted since beginning this medication but I didn't see that as one of the side effects. Also, my vision is blurred. Is this normal?
147426 tn?1317265632 Last Aricept pill taken today, and I feel good. My dreams have become more vivid, but not any more interesting. Sigh. Still waiting for gastric side effects to become more obvious - nothing really problematic, but I'm already having trouble there. I seem to be progressing into left side weakness, but my right side hasn't gotten completely better. If I'm going to have a weak right and a weak left, this is going to be a problem.
Avatar f tn I think you should discuss with your PCP regarding a drug called Aricept. This should be started only on prescription of your treating physician. It is used for treatment of Alzheimer’s, but is helpful for short term memory loss. Aricept is a drug of choice to treat Alzheimer's, but its use is not restricted. It has been observed that Aricept improves cognition and function, which includes effects on memory and performing everyday tasks, hence it would have been prescribed.
338416 tn?1420045702 Well, as you all know, I've been taking 5mg of donepezil a day for my cognitive impairment. I'm on #4 today. Interestingly, I feel like I might have had a mini-flare at the beginning of the week (or maybe it was the allergies) - but despite that, my brain feels more 'on.' I'm remembering stuff better, and I'm able to stay on task better. I drove last night, and I felt safer - less distracted, more able to concentrate on driving.
Avatar f tn The Dr put me on Bystolic, but it was samples and there is no information on side effects. I have started having stomach problems and acid reflux lately. Can the Bystolic be causing this? What would be other good choices?
