I just got my six weeks negative results back form a testing lab called Westcliff in Orange County California. They use a method call Siemens Chemiluminometric Immunoassay.
1) My questions are is this test FDA approved?
2) If is not did I just wasted money on a bad test? The lab's website looks fine and I was referred by my gp.

it is also good to check hbsag by architect or siemens to rule out occult hbv , poor sensibility old tests were used for sure, ask for abbott or siemens machines because these detects all types of mutations
HBV DNA < 29 IU/mL, HBV < 169 copies/mL
this is also too poor sensibility, abbott real time detects 10iu/ml and less, it can detect occult hbv while the test you have done is not good even for therapy monitoring
probably crap test have been used, if no abbott architect or siemens machines available in your country just get retested next month by the following tests:

if tests are cheap for you or if you have free healthcare insurance or government healthcare get tested for hbvdna pcr too with sensibility about 10-20iu/ml.
Hello. I test my urine regularly with dipsticks. Mainly due to some foamy urine I had, and I wanted to make sure protein wasn't spilling into my urine, which it wasnt.
However I have found that I occasionally have trace blood on the dipstick. Usually like 1 or 2 specks of non hemolyzed. Or just a very very faint shade of green. This is not often. Never in the morning. Usually happens after a lot of walking(which I know could cause it), or if I have a very high protein meal or protein shake.

Hi doctors... I had unprotected veginal sex with a sex worker... And since then I had health issued... I had hiv 1/2 ag/ab test at 1 month and 3 months after exposure.. It says not detected .. But it says test was performed on the Siemens advia centaur platform ... I don't know what is it .. And how reliable it is ... Do I need some other test ... Plz help m worring and shaking....
Post possible exposure at day 30 I had an aptima hiv rna test and a alere hiv 1/2 ag ab test. At 6 weeks I had an siemens hiv 1/2 ag ab with relexes. All test have been negative but I have had night sweats which they attributed to low t which has dropped which they attributed to sress. I can't help but continue to worry and I have now a swollen lymph node on groin..but i was recwnrly perscribed prednisone. I have read on here the a six week ag ab hiv 1/2 is conclusive.
I called the lab to find out the tests are manufactured by Siemens. The automation to perform the test is called BEP III. Hi Stef its me again. So far I was able to relax for the past few days. I will know the confirmatory test results for my Hbsag on sunday. I have read in the internet about the said tests. There are results that are confirmed or positive neutralization and not-confirmed or failed neutralization. I would like to ask if those failed neutralization means that their initial hbsag was a false-negative meaning that they are really non-reactive to hbsag? Thanks again for your explanation.
