218701 tn?1248226255 Medina and I are good. She'll be 5 months on the 9th. Amazing how time flies!!! She loves to roll from back to stomach, has been since about a month. Other way around is too boring! I'm still exclusively breastfeeding and loving it. Will start her on either pumpkin or carrot at the end of the month, she always wants to eat when we do and it is recommended to start babies on solids close to six months (WHO recommends breastfeeding exclusively for 6 months).
Avatar f tn Please no rude comments. I'm 18 and going for baby number 2. I had Medina for about 6 months, it took my period away and I decided to take it out April 21, I had period the following day and it lasted about a week after that we tried to conceive as much as possible. My period tracker says I should have got my period 5/23 I just got what looks like a positive test result. I used first response and the first line was Very faint. My last pregnancy my line was very solid with the same test.
615752 tn?1361867986 Well Medina had her 12 month check up a few days ago. She will be turning 1 on the 9th June, can't believe how time flies. She received her first dose of the MMR vaccine and Meningococcal. She has four teeth and I think getting another one soon. She weighed in at 19.1 lbs (8.7 kgs) and was 30.7 in (78 cm) so she is a tall but thin girl. She suffers alot when teething i.e. doesn't eat and is really active so the Doc told me not to worry about it.
623156 tn?1322865851 I speak Arabic to Medina, my husband speaks German and we speak mainly German to one another in front of Medina, but other than that English. I sing her almost everything in English, don't know in any other language LOL. We were told by our paediatrician that each parent should only speak one language with the child and when we speak only English with each other, then Medina will pick up on three languages.
615752 tn?1361867986 Just wishing all toddlers a happy 2nd birthday and hope they all have alot of fun on their special day and continue throughout their exciting journey in life. Medina is a June baby, she turned 2 on June 9th. Hope everyone is doing well :-) Happy Birthday!!
615752 tn?1361867986 Somehow it does not appear as though Medina has grown much the last few months. I know babies grown very fast in the first 12 months but since then it has slowed down alot. I can't really measure her. Does anyone measure their little one and if so, what is a goo technique to measure them AND keep them still? Also how are the kids growing? I'm getting a little worried as Medina has always been at least 95% percentile and she doesn't appear to be growing in height.
432737 tn?1358549432 Medina got her bangs cut at around 10.5 months and then again at the end of August and we need to do it again!!!! It wasn't cut too short, I think for girls too short doesn't look that nice. We got the back trimmed also end of August. We have done it on our own or with grandma last time as Medina is VERY headstrong (our padeiatrician said that's great for the future but not at the moment!!!). I had straight hair as a child until the age of 6 and then it became wavy.
615752 tn?1361867986 It has come to the stage where we have started to implement time-outs with Medina. We started when she turned 18 months old as she is sometimes a rather cheeky little girl. Is anyone else doing or planning on implementing it? If so, for how long? We go for two-three minutes. We warn Medina twice and when she does the deed for the third time, then she goes to her room for time-out. If some of you won't be doing that, what other discipline strategies will you be implementing?
443968 tn?1288612689 I have also noticed that with Medina, she was quiet for a while and now is a total chatterbox!!! But she does recognize alot of words already and I have also heard that boys take a little longer, don't really know but my niece was faster with everything than my nephew. I think that perhaps he is concentrating on something else e.g. achieving a physical milestone. Didn't he start crawling not so long ago? Is he learning two languages?
443968 tn?1288612689 re babies and growing so rapidly, having tantrums and testing our limits is normal at this stage, welcome to the club! Medina makes two fists and does a little grunt, not very often only every now and then. The best thing is to ignore, that's what I've learnt. I let Medina cry a little and come after me and pick her up afterwards and tell her that she has to be nice now. Good luck!!
432737 tn?1358549432 Well I got a great job in Sydney and will be heading back home in March. I will start mid-April and Medina will be 10 months then. I am scared of putting her in daycare because of the same reason. All my friends children are constantly sick in winter (here in Germany because it's really cold) but it's the same everywhere.
Avatar f tn Everyone thinks Medina is at least 6 months old and I got those comments about 2 weeks ago!! She starting rolling from back to front occassionally starting from the end of the 3rd month. Now it's non-stop and she loves to be on her stomach heaps. She's with me now and wants to type with me, how cute. We were at the dr's today because I thought she may have an ear infection but it is probably just ear pain from teething. Medina measured up as 68 cm (26.8 in) and 7.03 kg (15.5 lbs).
456039 tn?1302660148 Medina has an understandable vocabulary of around 15-20 words (in German, Arabic and one English word). She labels some things in her own language but some are similar to the word of origin. I started Medina on books very very early, so that is something I would recommend. We are a trilingual pair but Medina is growing up bilingual at the moment, which can delay speech. Holding out is a good thing, that's something I would recommend.
443968 tn?1288612689 t worry that James is not drinking from the sippy cup. He will when he is ready. Medina hated the bottle so much and now she drinks from my MIL, it took a while but she does it when spends the day with her (once a week). My MIL gives Medina diluted cow's milk with baby oatmeal, which makes the milk thicker and se drinks it down and has had no problems. My MIL started that actually 3 months ago (I didn't even know then!!!!
623156 tn?1322865851 -) I feel the same, I am blessed to have Medina, PPD stayed with me for a while, my trip to Australia made it peak and now I feel better and would like to go back to work as well.
432737 tn?1358549432 Medina isn't eating much these days. I'm almost tearing my hair out as it's been like this for over 3 weeks. We have an appointment with our paediatrician on Wednesday as she hasn't gained weight, I think she's lost some + she is always on the go. I mean really go go go!!! around 430-530 am: breast milk in half-sleepy mood then back to sleep. 7-8 am: awake 8:30-9:00am: 2 Tbs rice cereal with fruit (started a month ago) Breast feed before nap 1030 am (+/- 30 min): 1-1.
Avatar m tn lol Lina Medina 5 years, 7 months, 17 days old (May 1939 ). gave birth at that age so think about the possibilities. rare yes might be chances that a 6yo could have involuntary ejaculation but more likely for adult males to happen. or some brain nerves for stimulation are needed for sexual arousal which I HIGHLY doubt a 6yo could develop so fast.
550943 tn?1330727580 Wow congrats!!!!!!! Medina has been taking a few steps on her own also four or five since the last two months, but other than that, she's just not ready, she's so petrified. I'm not bothered as well, she still has some time and crawls and climbs (our bed, the couch) like crazy.
338416 tn?1420045702 ve just been to the Kerrville Folk Festival, and it really helped me survive the heat in Texas. (that, and soaking in the Medina river in the hottest part of the day!
94902 tn?1330479667 Medina has been moving herself around in circles since she turned six months, then she started creeping shortly afterwards and a few days ago she turned into a commando crawler. I was also worried about when she would start but then all of a sudden, she just developed really quickly and it happened. I did put things out of her reach but it also didn't really help. Usually something really special may help e.g. I've heard that mobile phones get many babies to crawl lol.
