Avatar n tn Hello! I have joined this community in the hope that someone can help me! I am a female, 25 years old and I have been suffering from abdominal pain for years. The pain is usually in the right side, mid-way between my bellybutton and my hip. At times the pain is sharp and stabbing and causes me to double over in pain - I would give it a 7 out of 10 for intensity. Other times the pain on my right side is dull and aching, and sometimes this is replaced with a burning sensation.

Avatar n tn My consultant thinks I have a basal cell carcinoma on the side of my nose and I am worried about the treatment. I did not ask questions when I saw him and now I want to know. He said he would probably cut and sew but it may leave me with an upturned nostril which sounds horrible to me! Is there any way I can avoid this? Obviously, I must have it done but I was wondering if I could have a small skin graft instead of stitches. Thank you for your help.
640526 tn?1312107911 I went to the ER with lower right abdominal pain in September of '09. Of course, my thought was that it was possibly appendicitis. They said it was probable I had appendicitis but weren't sure enough to say surgery was absolutely necessary, but when they did my CT scan, they found out I had a 10x11 cm cyst (complete with bone) in my right ovary. They did surgery on the spot, and thankfully, I still have my right ovary.
Avatar f tn For a G3 with no RVR and UND at 12 weeks, what is usually recommended is an extension of 12 more weeks of treatment which would to do 36 weeks instead of 24 weeks. This give a far better chance for a SVR. http://hcvsociety.org/forum/viewtopic.php?
Avatar n tn Secondly, it can be due to hiatus hernia (occurs when the upper part of your stomach protrudes into your chest cavity through a weakness in the hiatus (opening) in your diaphragm.)Treatment is antacids and prilosec. Also eat smaller meals, especially at night. Don't lie down right after you eat. Use 2 or 3 pillows, or a foam wedge, or raise the head of your bed to prevent discomfort.. Thirdly it can be gall stones or pancreatitis.
Avatar m tn I did a brain and spinal cord MRI and was rushed to hospital for treatment and further tests. I took cortisol for 5 days while waiting for the results to come back. Then the results came back : demyelinating disease. My neurologist told me that i had 5 lesions. 4 on my brain ( 2 of them were active) and one on my neck that was causing my symptoms. He said that he is going to put me on meds right away and treat it as MS, however he cant define it as MS unless there 9 lesions or more.
Avatar n tn What you describe could be a number of things, including pancreatitis, appendicitis, diverticulitis, ... or something else altogether. This set of symptoms doesn't seem to be the type one can afford to ignore. Pls see a doc/urgent care right away. Hope you'll write again to let us know how you're doing.
Avatar m tn It hurts to walk and I must sit down with great care, I have performed some of the tests for appendicitis such as lying supine with my right leg bent and pushing over to the left...this results in much pain. Having been an EMT for many years I understand this could be appendicitis, however, I am confused about the pain free lapses. I live in the middle of no where with poor hospitals about 2 and a half hours away.
Avatar n tn As far as I know, the most apparent symptom of appendicitis (inflammation of the appendix) is a dull pain in the stomach on the right side, that moves to severe lower right abdominal pain. http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/digestive-diseases-appendicitis The above website explains different symptoms that could accompany appendicitis.
Avatar n tn When I had appendecitis I woke up in pain with a lot of abdominal pressure and was admitted for surgery that day. It felt like I was really constipated or something (sorry TMI), and was nauseous. It sounds like the pain you are having is more likely related to the pcos. I have had ovarian cysts in the past and it felt a lot like what you are describing. I'm not an expert, just my personal experience.

Avatar f tn I think 'excellent outcome' probably means definitely excellent. Otherwise, it would be 'good outcome', below that 'poor outcome' or something. Do keep us posted on what herbs you are taking and how they affect you! 3 cheers for Rico and each of her kidneys!
Avatar f tn HI, Right lower quadrant pain can be due to ovarian cyst or appendicitis. The intermittent nature of the pain is typical of appendicitis. However it can also be found when the ovarian cyst undergoes torsion. The fever suggests the possibility of infection. Hence it would be best to see your Doctor again. Once a correct diagnosis is made the appropriate treatment can be initiated. The answer is based on information provided.
Avatar f tn My SIL had early hemorrhaging of her uterus, I think it was almost 8 weeks she had it, and bled quite a bit, and she was just fine throughout the rest of her pregnancy! One thing she did have though was hemorrhaging after labor and bled a LOT, so I don't know if the two are linked, but I would definitely ask your doctor about the risk of you hemorrhaging after you give birth. Good luck!
