appendicitis

Avatar m tn I binge drink once every month, sometimes I will go party once every 15 days, when I get bored. For a few years, I have been experiencing GERD, abdomen swelling, diarreah, and painful cramps in my lower abdomen, symptoms which become more present after drinking. I get pain about an inch down from my belly button, and to the right. I also feel pain when I notice transit on my intestine, specifically in that area.
Avatar f tn I have good range of motion, can walk unassisted, etc, but still have a lot of swelling, stiffness and pain related to that. (I also have Baker's Cyst behind that knee). I went off all the meds when symptoms started, but need to return to work and can't elevate and ice. Do I have any other options?
Avatar m tn Does it make sense to have classic appendicitis symptoms that go completely away for a few days at a time over a 3 month course? What has prompted my question is that I had two episodes yesterday, one in the morning and a very severe bout in the evening. I keep thinking this will just go away especially when I'm pain free and I forget about it.
Avatar m tn I never took the antibiotics. The next day the local GP said no appendicitis. After 15 days still the symptoms continued occasionally and a went to a Gastroenterologist who advised to take Taxim-O an antibiotic. I took it for 5 days. I took an ultrasound of the abdomen and the doctor said no appendicitis. But I pestered him with questions about my symptoms. He then took a screening CT in the lab and gave the report as Chronic appendicitis with 7mm thickness.
Avatar f tn I have all if the appendicitis symptoms ( bloating, diarrhea, constipation, severe abdominal pain followed by vomiting) but aren't these all pregnancy things to? I'm 41/2 weeks.
Avatar f tn According to WebMD diagnosing appendicitis can be tricky: "Symptoms of appendicitis are frequently vague or extremely similar to other ailments, including gallbladder problems, bladder or urinary tract infection, Crohn's disease, gastritis, intestinal infection, and ovary problems. The following tests are usually used to make the diagnosis.
Avatar n tn By night it was pretty bad, enough to wake me up in the night multiple times. I went to the doctor today described the symptoms which are; dull, achy pain, with some sharp pains. Doing things like walking, running, jumping, and taking steps down hurt. The area is painful to the touch, quite painful actually. The are looks slightly swollen. Its right under my "belly" maybe 4 inches from my belly button, but the pain can radiate all across the area and even up to my upper abdomen.
Avatar m tn I have pain in the right side of my abdomen, near my belly button, it feels like I need to vomit. However I don't. It also hurts when I deep breathe. I have swelling in the abdomen too and its tender to the touch. Any ideas what this could be?
Avatar n tn I have recently been experiencing right side pain and mentioned it to my GP. He sent me for a CT which confirmed mild appendicitis. Don't have typical appendicitis symptoms other than pain and some nausea. My doc says to get it taken out. I went for a consult with a general surgeon and he said he isn't 100% that's my appendix since I don't have all the acute symptoms. He said there is no such thing as chronic appendicitis and my doc says "oh yes there is". UGH...
Avatar f tn My daughter had her appendix out 11/30/11. She had open surgery after they attempted lap. She thought she was having problems with kidney stones again when she went to er. She was not nauseas at all. From the time she woke up from surgery the nausea has not left. She was in the hospital 4days nauseas the whole time and on antinausea meds still getting sick. The surgeon released her late Saturday. She called him after being released still throwing up. He advised her to stop taking pain meds.
Avatar n tn Hello, I am an otherwise healthy 39-year old male I would say, a bit of a hypochondriac I would say, hence this post …Back in 2004 I had surgery for appendicitis and after my surgery the strangest thing happened….The center-outer part of my left thigh started burning.
Avatar f tn I was admitted to hospital that night , the doctors there were suspecting either appendicitis or a ruptured cyst on my ovary.I was given a CT scan and it showed nothing in my bowels , kidneys or appendix. Instead it showed swelling in my right urethra.I got a blood test and my white blood cells came back as 30 , instead of the normal which the doctors told me is 4-11. I was sent home today as i was fed up sitting in the hospital and i still do not have a diagnosis.
Avatar m tn There is no test to prove chronic appendicitis. Some of the symptoms are lower right quadrant pain, sometimes it's sharp, sometimes it dull, bloating mucus in stool, pain with or after intercourse, trapped gas or stool in the appendix area will double you over. WBC's will be somewhere from 9-11, not high enough to indicate an acute form of appendicitis but a chronic form of it.
Avatar f tn t usually have time to see my actual Dr. They told me to see a nurse who checked my tummy for swelling and any pain by pressing it in certain places. She also tested me for a UTI and pregnancy. Everything came back negative. I was told to drink plenty of water and make sure I eat well which I already do. I have to go visit a nurse at my Doctors surgery next week for an MMR shot, should I at the same time ask for an appointment to discuss this or am I just worried over nothing?
Avatar f tn Monitor your syptoms cause nausea, back pain, pain on right side and bloating r also symptoms of appendicitis. I had appendicitis while i was pregnant so didn't notice the symptoms of appendicitis cause i just thought it was pregnacy symptoms.if pain gets worse or you get fever go to doctor.
Avatar f tn I've had an appendectomy 8 months ago, but simptoms came back a month ago: pain in the right of my belly, which migrated in the LRQ after about 2 weeks, bloating, pain in the right side during bowel movements, right leg gets a little numb sometimes. Did a CT scan 1 month ago, it revealed an ovarian cyst of 3.5 cm on my right and a 5 cm one on my left. The pain on my right is persistent and the symptoms are really bad for such a small cyst.
Avatar m tn I went to get blood work done because my cousin which is a Doctor wanted to rule out an appendicitis. The WBC count came back at 10.1 where the normal range for that laboratory I believe was from 5 to 10. My cousin said that is not significant enough to point towards appendicitis. My lymphocte percentage was low at 20.3 percent, and my mean platelet volume was also low 6.8. What really has me concerned though is that my blood sed rate came back at 32mm/h which is high.
Avatar n tn Hello! I have joined this community in the hope that someone can help me! I am a female, 25 years old and I have been suffering from abdominal pain for years. The pain is usually in the right side, mid-way between my bellybutton and my hip. At times the pain is sharp and stabbing and causes me to double over in pain - I would give it a 7 out of 10 for intensity. Other times the pain on my right side is dull and aching, and sometimes this is replaced with a burning sensation.
Avatar n tn t have a lot of the normal symptoms either. Actually, what started it was I had Appendicitis 3 years ago and when they did a Cat Scan at that time they noticed I had a small mass in my small intestine (in the terminal ileum). They went ahead and took my appendix out and decided to just keep an eye on this mass since we didn't really know what it was. So I had Cat Scans periodically to check on it and it never grew that next year so we stopped checking on it.
Avatar n tn //www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/appendicitis/symptoms-causes/syc-20369543. This does not really sound like that issue though. How are you now?
Avatar f tn I'd keep pressing for an appointment. The only think similar to that that I have had myself is an appendix inflammation. It wasn't acute appendicitis, just a chronic inflammation. That isn't the only thing that can cause similar issues, though. Try to get in if your doctor has a cancellation list. Good luck!
