Avatar f tn Hi. I am 18 years old and have just been diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis after having a laparotomy to remove 3 large endometriomas from my ovaries. I hadn't really had any symptoms until a couple of weeks ago when i collapsed from stomach pain and went to the emergency room thinking it was appendicitis. My doctor now wants me to go on zoladex for 6 months. Does anyone have experience of this?
Avatar m tn Just because he has HepC doesn't mean he can't have flatulence or gall bladder symptoms or appendicitis or a heart attack or a number of other ailments that can cause pain.
Avatar m tn Does it make sense to have classic appendicitis symptoms that go completely away for a few days at a time over a 3 month course? What has prompted my question is that I had two episodes yesterday, one in the morning and a very severe bout in the evening. I keep thinking this will just go away especially when I'm pain free and I forget about it.
Avatar m tn I never took the antibiotics. The next day the local GP said no appendicitis. After 15 days still the symptoms continued occasionally and a went to a Gastroenterologist who advised to take Taxim-O an antibiotic. I took it for 5 days. I took an ultrasound of the abdomen and the doctor said no appendicitis. But I pestered him with questions about my symptoms. He then took a screening CT in the lab and gave the report as Chronic appendicitis with 7mm thickness.

Avatar f tn According to WebMD diagnosing appendicitis can be tricky: "Symptoms of appendicitis are frequently vague or extremely similar to other ailments, including gallbladder problems, bladder or urinary tract infection, Crohn's disease, gastritis, intestinal infection, and ovary problems. Avatar n tn I have recently been experiencing right side pain and mentioned it to my GP. He sent me for a CT which confirmed mild appendicitis. Don't have typical appendicitis symptoms other than pain and some nausea. My doc says to get it taken out. I went for a consult with a general surgeon and he said he isn't 100% that's my appendix since I don't have all the acute symptoms. He said there is no such thing as chronic appendicitis and my doc says "oh yes there is". UGH...

Avatar m tn There is no test to prove chronic appendicitis. Some of the symptoms are lower right quadrant pain, sometimes it's sharp, sometimes it dull, bloating mucus in stool, pain with or after intercourse, trapped gas or stool in the appendix area will double you over. WBC's will be somewhere from 9-11, not high enough to indicate an acute form of appendicitis but a chronic form of it.
Avatar n tn the pain is debilitating such that his life is completely dysfunctional and he can not attend school or perform any daily activities. Thinking he may have chronic appendicitis, his appendix was removed almost 3 months ago; no relief in symptoms and a biopsy of both the lymph node and the appendix were "normal." Avatar f tn I've had an appendectomy 8 months ago, but simptoms came back a month ago: pain in the right of my belly, which migrated in the LRQ after about 2 weeks, bloating, pain in the right side during bowel movements, right leg gets a little numb sometimes. Did a CT scan 1 month ago, it revealed an ovarian cyst of 3.5 cm on my right and a 5 cm one on my left. The pain on my right is persistent and the symptoms are really bad for such a small cyst.
Avatar m tn I went to get blood work done because my cousin which is a Doctor wanted to rule out an appendicitis. The WBC count came back at 10.1 where the normal range for that laboratory I believe was from 5 to 10. My cousin said that is not significant enough to point towards appendicitis. My lymphocte percentage was low at 20.3 percent, and my mean platelet volume was also low 6.8. What really has me concerned though is that my blood sed rate came back at 32mm/h which is high.
Avatar n tn Hello! I have joined this community in the hope that someone can help me! I am a female, 25 years old and I have been suffering from abdominal pain for years. The pain is usually in the right side, mid-way between my bellybutton and my hip. At times the pain is sharp and stabbing and causes me to double over in pain - I would give it a 7 out of 10 for intensity. Other times the pain on my right side is dull and aching, and sometimes this is replaced with a burning sensation.
Avatar n tn //www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/appendicitis/symptoms-causes/syc-20369543. This does not really sound like that issue though. How are you now?
Avatar f tn I always figured that the symptoms would appear and then the problem would occur, but I have been having these symptoms for a little less than a month, really. The thing is though I'm not sure if my symptoms are enough to match up with an appendicitis.. and it could be other things, maybe. Less severe problems. Anyway, I wanted to put this out there. It's not just the threat of an actual, serious problem, but also the discomfort. Just hope this isn't anything serious.
Avatar n tn When I had appendecitis I woke up in pain with a lot of abdominal pressure and was admitted for surgery that day. It felt like I was really constipated or something (sorry TMI), and was nauseous. It sounds like the pain you are having is more likely related to the pcos. I have had ovarian cysts in the past and it felt a lot like what you are describing. I'm not an expert, just my personal experience.
Avatar m tn An appendix is usually on the right side of your stomach and you will usually run a high fever with appendicitis. However, if you are still concerned, you can call your doctor and ask to speak to a nurse.
