appendicitis

Avatar m tn Does it make sense to have classic appendicitis symptoms that go completely away for a few days at a time over a 3 month course? What has prompted my question is that I had two episodes yesterday, one in the morning and a very severe bout in the evening. I keep thinking this will just go away especially when I'm pain free and I forget about it.
Avatar n tn Your daughter is having non-specific symptoms like fatigue, headache with occasional sore throat for last 3-4 months. Probably she has not lost any weight and her appetite is also OK. I am not too concerned about her blood reports though she had relative monocytosis to begin with and now a slightly low neutrophil count. Other parameters in her complete blood count are normal as you have stated. However, she has tested positive for EBV (Epstein–Barr virus) which may explain all this.
Avatar m tn I never took the antibiotics. The next day the local GP said no appendicitis. After 15 days still the symptoms continued occasionally and a went to a Gastroenterologist who advised to take Taxim-O an antibiotic. I took it for 5 days. I took an ultrasound of the abdomen and the doctor said no appendicitis. But I pestered him with questions about my symptoms. He then took a screening CT in the lab and gave the report as Chronic appendicitis with 7mm thickness.
Avatar f tn I have all if the appendicitis symptoms ( bloating, diarrhea, constipation, severe abdominal pain followed by vomiting) but aren't these all pregnancy things to? I'm 41/2 weeks.
Avatar f tn Before being discharged from the hospital all tests (urine and blood) came back negative for infection and I had no other symptoms of my infections. My fever had gone down from a steady 103.6 to fluctuatong between 98.6 and 100.0. Its only been about 30 hours since the infection has been gotten rid of but my temperature is continueing to fluctuate between 98.6 and 100.0. Is it normal for it to take time for my fever to go down?
Avatar f tn Both lower abdominal that goes from side to side, lower back, upper back near the shoulder blades, diarrhea of a lighter color but no blood, growling stomach, fatigue, headache, muscle tension in the collarbone, shortness of breath, insomnia, etc. I am a 16 year old teenager, currently under a HEAVY amount of stress and anxiety, and I can't leave my situation.
Avatar f tn According to WebMD diagnosing appendicitis can be tricky: "Symptoms of appendicitis are frequently vague or extremely similar to other ailments, including gallbladder problems, bladder or urinary tract infection, Crohn's disease, gastritis, intestinal infection, and ovary problems. The following tests are usually used to make the diagnosis.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your response. Since i wrote in yesterday morning with the swollen pubic area i have developed more symptoms. These are high fever, body aches and pains including headache & i also threw up repeatedly over a 6 - 8 hour period. I now feel really unwell & ive also noticed that my stomach area seems a little swollen too although the swelling in the pubic area seems to have gone down.
Avatar n tn I have recently been experiencing right side pain and mentioned it to my GP. He sent me for a CT which confirmed mild appendicitis. Don't have typical appendicitis symptoms other than pain and some nausea. My doc says to get it taken out. I went for a consult with a general surgeon and he said he isn't 100% that's my appendix since I don't have all the acute symptoms. He said there is no such thing as chronic appendicitis and my doc says "oh yes there is". UGH...
Avatar f tn Also, I talked to a girl in my class who had to have her appendix removed because of appendicitis, and I asked her what she experienced before she realised it was appendicitis. She told me, and while I am aware symptoms vary from person to person, I noticed I had all the signs she had, expect the pain had not moved to the lower right part of my abdomen.
Avatar m tn Hi, As mentioned from the other post, the initial symptoms include, but are not limited to, changes in taste and smell, headache, fever, nausea, vomiting, and stiff neck. Secondary symptoms include confusion, hallucinations, lack of attention, ataxia, and seizures. After the start of symptoms, the disease progresses rapidly over 3 to 7 days. Check with your doctor if you have these symptoms and to ease any anxiety. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn There is no test to prove chronic appendicitis. Some of the symptoms are lower right quadrant pain, sometimes it's sharp, sometimes it dull, bloating mucus in stool, pain with or after intercourse, trapped gas or stool in the appendix area will double you over. WBC's will be somewhere from 9-11, not high enough to indicate an acute form of appendicitis but a chronic form of it.

Avatar f tn Hello and thanks for a great forum. I'm curious if you think these are symptoms of hiv or std, staring thinking about it now am worried. About 10 months ago (beginning of February) I had less than one minute of unprotected vaginal intercourse and stopped because of no protection. I'm 33 circumcised and the female was 20, unknown history. Two days later I was worried about stds, I had no symptoms buy preventively took 1 gram of z pack. The day after that took 4 days of cipro.
Avatar f tn Along with it, I had nausea, a fever, and a slight headache with chills. The doctor tested my urine and said I had a possible kidney infection. She gave me a three day prescription. After I was done taking it, the pain was gone, but I still had a low grade fever, headache, and constant fatigue. I went to the gyno, she checked me and ruled out pregnancy or any female problems, and she also checked my urine and said it was normal.
Avatar m tn About eight months ago, I got a CT scan on my head at the ER for a splitting headache (turned out to be inflammation of the mastoid and sinus infection). About a month ago, I got a CT scan with contrast for chest pain that had been persistent for about six months. Well this week, I went to an urgent care facility for pain in my lower right abdomen and the doctor says though I don't show all the signs, I might have appendicitis, and I should get an abdominal/pelvis CT scan.
Avatar f tn Monitor your syptoms cause nausea, back pain, pain on right side and bloating r also symptoms of appendicitis. I had appendicitis while i was pregnant so didn't notice the symptoms of appendicitis cause i just thought it was pregnacy symptoms.if pain gets worse or you get fever go to doctor.
Avatar f tn I've had an appendectomy 8 months ago, but simptoms came back a month ago: pain in the right of my belly, which migrated in the LRQ after about 2 weeks, bloating, pain in the right side during bowel movements, right leg gets a little numb sometimes. Did a CT scan 1 month ago, it revealed an ovarian cyst of 3.5 cm on my right and a 5 cm one on my left. The pain on my right is persistent and the symptoms are really bad for such a small cyst.
Avatar m tn I went to get blood work done because my cousin which is a Doctor wanted to rule out an appendicitis. The WBC count came back at 10.1 where the normal range for that laboratory I believe was from 5 to 10. My cousin said that is not significant enough to point towards appendicitis. My lymphocte percentage was low at 20.3 percent, and my mean platelet volume was also low 6.8. What really has me concerned though is that my blood sed rate came back at 32mm/h which is high.
Avatar n tn Hello! I have joined this community in the hope that someone can help me! I am a female, 25 years old and I have been suffering from abdominal pain for years. The pain is usually in the right side, mid-way between my bellybutton and my hip. At times the pain is sharp and stabbing and causes me to double over in pain - I would give it a 7 out of 10 for intensity. Other times the pain on my right side is dull and aching, and sometimes this is replaced with a burning sensation.
Avatar m tn - extreme headache, lightheadedness, extreme fatigue (more fatigue than I've ever felt), slight aching in my body However, no diarrhea and no apparent fever. My blood pressure was taken twice which was 100% normal, while my heart rate was in the 120s (my normal being low 60s). So I went on a liquid diet as I had 0 appetite. The next night I had my first solid meal. However that day I also got extreme neck pain (which didn't get better till the day after that, the monday).
