appendicitis

Avatar f tn I was just wondering what type of surgery they will need to do, how long the recovery time and hospital stay would be because Im only a junior in high school and I want to know how long I would need to be out of school.
231441 tn?1333892766 This stage of pregnancy, the end of the 1st trimester, is apparently the safest time for surgery. The baby is mature enough to handle the drugs without undue effects and yet the uterus is still small enough not to impede the surgery or get in the way. Just goes to show, there is such thing as chronic appendicitis! THough it seems gastro doctors don't believe in it.
Avatar n tn In my experience, the swelling went down after about 2 weeks. But it was even better after a bout a month. I'm glad you had your surgery and that everything went well! About working out, it's usually between 6 to 8 weeks that they tell you to wait, but talk to your doctor about it. Every case is a bit different with recovery time and your doctor needs to approve it. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, A bit of background...I have a 7-8cm cyst on my left ovary. CA125 of 10, ultrasound shows no sign of a malignancy, so they are not too concerned about that. Dr. I was seeing wasn't confident in doing a cyst this size laparoscopically so he referred me to another Dr who is apparently an "expert" in removing large cysts like this by "bagging" it and removing it that way through the tiny incision instead of having open surgery.
1570782 tn?1296689507 Hey Everyone! I'm new to this whole forum thing, but I thought I'd give it a try. I was just wondering for those of you who've had surgery, how long your recovery has been? I just recently had the surgery and I'm having a hard time dealing with the after math. I am here to find some friends to talk to who are going through the same thing as me. Please feel free to talk with me anytime.
Avatar n tn 2. What can I do to prepare before and after the surgery to help witht the recovery process. 3. May I still be excercising such as 1 hr. walks and situps/crunches before the surgery? and 4. Are there any special bands or wraps such as a girdle to help keep my organs in and my body in shape?
Avatar f tn I am to have decompression surgery on Tuesday. General advice as to what to expect during recovery time? My NS said a minimum of a month of no driving, anything, so I am hoping this will help aid in my recovery. I only have a 5mm prolapse, but very high symptomatically. I was given a 50/50 chance of good outcome. I have nothing but time to lose. What is your opinion??
Avatar f tn I had a vitrectomy to repair a macular hole 9 months ago and have been told that it is likely that i will develop a cataract. I have to go for a check up next week and i was wondering that if i do have a cataract how long is the recovery time,i am retired so i don't have to work ,but i do look after my 8 month old grandson while my daughter works. I have heard that you can't do any bending and lifting after a cataract operation, but not sure for how long.
Avatar f tn How much time can I expect to be out of work after laparoscopic gallbladder surgery? I get a different answer from each person/doctor I talk to. I am a secretary and can keep from any type of lifting for whatever time I need to.
Avatar f tn Prescribed painkiller and BC as preventative against future cysts and said that most patients recover 5-7 days after rupture. Today makes 8 days after onset of severe pain which is when we believe the rupture occured. My daughter's abdomen has barely receded in size and she is now experiencing SEVERE lower back pain which is not touched by Vicoden-Ibuprofen combo. She is miserable and doesn't fit in any of her clothers because of her expanded abdomen.
Avatar f tn The first 3 times they suspected appendicitis, urinary infection, IBS, etc. and it was only after I was in for the 4th time that I was sent for a CT scan and they discovered a 10cm cyst on my right ovary. Basically the only symptoms I have had have been extreme pain which lasts 24 hours or less every 4-5 weeks. I had morphine on 3 occasions but refused it last time as it makes me feel so sick, so they gave me paracetamol on a drip instead. I have no symptoms in-between.
Avatar m tn Hello, I am wanting to know the stages of recovery after retina detachment surgery. On 9/12/11 I had cryotherapy with pneumatic retinopexy due to PVD that caused a detachment. On 9/19 I returned to work (vision in the good eye only due to the bubble in the other) On 9/28 I was in the hospital due to another detachment (same eye, different location) this time I had a scleral buckle, viterectomy, laser retinopoxy and pneumatic retinopexy.
231441 tn?1333892766 But the good thing is that the original pain from the appendicitis (that no one believed was appendicitis - they were still arguing even as I was going into surgery - as insisted by my OB) is completely gone after 3 long months and once I am recovered from this surgery I should be pretty fine. I'm feeling well enough to catch up on internet and mail now, so that's surely a good sign. Take care all.
Avatar n tn I am an otherwise healthy 39-year old male I would say, a bit of a hypochondriac, hence this post …Back in 2004 I had surgery for appendicitis and after my surgery the strangest thing happened….The center-outer part of my left thigh started burning.
Avatar n tn It was early stage appendicitis. The next day after surgery I was feeling expected pain where the incisions were. I took Norco painkiller. After a couple of days I noticed high heart rate when lying down, couple of times it grew so uncomfortable that I had to walk around a bit to feel comfortable. This has been now going on for almost 5 days and I feel almost perfect during the day, but when laying down at night and sometimes even getting up in the morning, it is disturbing.
Avatar f tn First off, I'm so sorry this is so long but the details are important. Labor day weekend I left work early with a tummy ache and dizziness. I had some diarrhea and just couldn't shake the dizziness so I went to bed. Woke up the following morning feeling less dizzy but nauseous and still had diarrhea. By Sunday I felt ok, a little light headed but ok otherwise. Thought it was just a stomach bug. Then Mon I started having lower right quadrant pain. It hurt to sit and felt dizzy.
