Avatar n tn I am in my 19th week and got diagnosed with appendicitis 2 days ago. Did some labs and the results show I have inflammation going on. Am scheduled for an appendectomy and was told not to worry because precautions would be taken not hurt the baby. I was also informed that they would do some procedure to calm the baby down the night before the surgery. I am yet to know what kind of procedure it is they are talking about. My og/gyn is working with the surgeon on my case.
Avatar n tn I had to have my gallbladder out, but they ignored my symptoms. I had it out 6 weeks after my son was born. If it's life threatening, they will probably try to remove it, but if it's appendicitis, they might wait until you've had bub to have it out.
Avatar f tn I met a women she has throat cancer, she even had a operation and i saw the scars on her throat, i had a French kiss with her and just sucked her nipple for a second thats it so my question is does the cancer spreads like that and will i get any hpv or so?
Avatar m tn That surgery they said was from adhesions from an appendicitis operation he had in the sixties. His bowels did not work so they operated again and said he had a twisted bowel that they massaged. Now one year later these past two weeks he has been constipated and then had stomach pain nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Today he feels lots better but it worries me that now that his stomach is empty and he starts slowly introducing food he will just get sick again.
Avatar m tn Because the tests used to diagnose appendicitis are not perfect, sometimes the operation will show that your appendix is normal. In that case, the surgeon will remove your appendix and explore the rest of your abdomen for other causes of your pain. If a CT scan shows that you have an abscess from a ruptured appendix, you may be treated for infection. You will have your appendix removed after the infection and swelling have gone away.
Avatar f tn My 15 year old niece has this week had surgery to remove a 10cm twisted ovarian cyst which has also resulted in the removal of her right ovary. We have been given no information whatsoever since the operation but were however given loads of information before the surgery such as she didn't have cancer, surgery was the only option as the cyst was so badly twisted and apparently the size of a grapefruit.

Avatar n tn I had my appendix removed about two years ago at age 20. There were no complications. However, at the time of surgery I was obese for my height at 5'0 and 155 pounds. I have been overweight all my life, always carrying most of my excess fat around my lower belly, and the doctor mentioned my obesity while examining my abdomen before the operation.
Avatar f tn t be causing me my pain. She said my symptoms sounded like appendicitis and sent me to the hospital for a CT scan. The scan came back normal. The following day the pain increased and I went to the ER. They also saw the cyst on ultrasound and admitted me for further tests. Spent 4 days in that hospital with a colonoscopy done (also normal). I told them it may be a hernia and they called a gen surgeon to examine me.
Avatar f tn Well, the doctor diagnosed it as an acute appendicitis and I was operated within a couple of weeks. Before that operation I did a chest x-ray, after 25 days of exposure (you know sometimes that's necessary before an operation). In that report the impression was bronchitis. Now its been almost 10 weeks (69 days) since that single exposure. Now, I have a severe sore throat, fatigue and sometimes joint aches. The rashes on my glans are just gone. I cant find any.
Avatar n tn What you describe could be a number of things, including pancreatitis, appendicitis, diverticulitis, ... or something else altogether. This set of symptoms doesn't seem to be the type one can afford to ignore. Pls see a doc/urgent care right away. Hope you'll write again to let us know how you're doing.
Avatar m tn It hurts to walk and I must sit down with great care, I have performed some of the tests for appendicitis such as lying supine with my right leg bent and pushing over to the left...this results in much pain. Having been an EMT for many years I understand this could be appendicitis, however, I am confused about the pain free lapses. I live in the middle of no where with poor hospitals about 2 and a half hours away.
Avatar n tn As far as I know, the most apparent symptom of appendicitis (inflammation of the appendix) is a dull pain in the stomach on the right side, that moves to severe lower right abdominal pain. http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/digestive-diseases-appendicitis The above website explains different symptoms that could accompany appendicitis.
Avatar n tn When I had appendecitis I woke up in pain with a lot of abdominal pressure and was admitted for surgery that day. It felt like I was really constipated or something (sorry TMI), and was nauseous. It sounds like the pain you are having is more likely related to the pcos. I have had ovarian cysts in the past and it felt a lot like what you are describing. I'm not an expert, just my personal experience.
Avatar m tn An appendix is usually on the right side of your stomach and you will usually run a high fever with appendicitis. However, if you are still concerned, you can call your doctor and ask to speak to a nurse.
Avatar f tn now i am developing the same pain again after about 20 hours, so i want to ask can it be appendicitis even if ultrasound doesnt show it? one of my friend got operated last month, she was having the same pain but ultrasound didnt show anything even then she got operated n now is fine!
Avatar f tn Now the next day my lower right stomach is pretty tender, nowhere else, just lower right side. Should I be worried about appendicitis? Could it be tender from extreme gas and bloating? Thoughts?
Avatar f tn I just had another laparoscopy surgery. Nothing for fertility. I got appendicitis. Lol. Within the time span of 3 mths i had 2 surgeries. So i had to take a mth off from trying. Just my luck.
Avatar m tn If you had an appendicitis, you would have had an operation. The "severity" of an appendicitis doesn't change whether or not you would operate. What the results of your first CT scan probably mean, is that you had this incidental finding, and you never had any problem with your appendix in the first place. Anyways, that is in the past. However, antiobiotics kill off the good bacteria in your gut which can cause problems, which is why I recommend a probiotic.
Avatar f tn According to WebMD diagnosing appendicitis can be tricky: "Symptoms of appendicitis are frequently vague or extremely similar to other ailments, including gallbladder problems, bladder or urinary tract infection, Crohn's disease, gastritis, intestinal infection, and ovary problems. The following tests are usually used to make the diagnosis.
Avatar f tn Appendicitis comes to mind. Does your child have the pain in the belly button or to the lower right abdmonial area? This sounds like it to me. Of course it could be something else I'll look further. But, this is my first thought. I had my appendix out when I was 10 years old. I had vomiting for a month, abdominal pain (not necessarily in the right abdomin), fever, don't remember diarrhea but you can, white count was up. Symptoms went away after the operation.
Avatar m tn Well 2 years ago I had an appendicitis and i was operated to take it off.. Before that I rearly had any gas problems, but now after my operation, I started getting filled with gas.. Uptill the last month or so it was normal but now, i wake up bloated full of air, and sometimes i get sharp pains in my sides, i drink water (not exagerated but i drink), and i remain like this throughout all the day.. Avatar m tn He then took a screening CT in the lab and gave the report as Chronic appendicitis with 7mm thickness. Ficolith inside the appendicitis and advised to remove it whenever you feel free but not an emergency. The Gastroenterologist was not convinced and he asked me to take a Contrast enhanced CT. But the local doctor said it is not necessary and i don't have any acute episode and there is no such Chronic appendicitis.
