Appendicitis laparoscopy

Common Questions and Answers about Appendicitis laparoscopy

appendicitis

Avatar n tn I had a laparoscopy done last week to get rid of my appendicitis. It was early stage appendicitis. The next day after surgery I was feeling expected pain where the incisions were. I took Norco painkiller. After a couple of days I noticed high heart rate when lying down, couple of times it grew so uncomfortable that I had to walk around a bit to feel comfortable.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with advanced endo in May 2009 after diagnostic laparoscopy. I was referred onto another doctor to do surgical laparoscopy with the DaVince Robot which I had 3 weeks ago this Tuesday. During a 2.5 hour surgery, doctor removed a lot of endo & adhesions. My uterus, ovaries & tubes were adhered to the rectum. I also had bilateral ureter involvement. He was able to free up my ovaries & tubes. He did a pelvic ablation.
Avatar f tn the Dr has booked me in for a laparoscopy without explaining anything. Has anyone had this done or does anyone know how it will help as I've read the next step is IVF.
Avatar n tn I am at my wits end -- I have a re-occurring right side (only) pain (that starts dull for 1 or 2 days and then honestly feels like appendicitis at its worst...before subsiding) that I get 3/4 days into my period and ONLY when I have my period. If I take the pill continuously (no breaks) - I don't get the pain.
Avatar f tn First off, I'm so sorry this is so long but the details are important. Labor day weekend I left work early with a tummy ache and dizziness. I had some diarrhea and just couldn't shake the dizziness so I went to bed. Woke up the following morning feeling less dizzy but nauseous and still had diarrhea. By Sunday I felt ok, a little light headed but ok otherwise. Thought it was just a stomach bug. Then Mon I started having lower right quadrant pain. It hurt to sit and felt dizzy.
Avatar f tn Colonoscopy- no colitis or inflammation of the bowels. Pelvic Laparoscopy- no endometriosis, no ovarian cysts, no noticeable problems. Symptoms: LRQ pain- usually around a constant 5 out of 10, dull, achey, sometimes stinging. Area feels tender and a little swollen/bloated. Pain has been getting worse and starting to wake me up. Night sweats and feelings like "OH MY GOODNESS I NEED TO GO TO THE BATHROOM RIGHT NOW". Sweating but shivering and unable to push due to pain. Nausea.
486360 tn?1227214728 ve had several ultrasounds, 2 CT scans, a laparoscopy, a cystoscopy, and a colonoscopy. I have been told that I have polycystic ovaries, however my doctor says that these shouldn't cause pain (which I don't believe). My CT scan revealed a 5mm calcium deposit that was not a kidney stone.
4173185 tn?1350594679 t see endometriosis on an ultrasound, you can only see it through a laparoscopy. So, I went to a gynecologist who said she would bet her career it was a bacterial infection. I took antibiotics for like a week and it still didn't do anything. I'm having trouble finding a good gynecologist that I can trust and an answer to my problem. My pain is mostly my ovaries, it feels like someone is trying to rip them out slowly or like frenzied piranhas are trying to eat them.
Avatar m tn my fiance has just had a laparoscopy surgery on her abdonamal that means she had severe cramps in her ovary which could mean u have a chys (siss) on you ovary she was discharged from hospital 5 days later i would look up the symtoms on (n.h.s.
Avatar f tn It ended up being appendicitis so the surgery was necessary. I know the risk of miscarriage is only 3% from going under anestsia but I'm still worried. I also was given several pain meds that were necessary, but I was told they weren't too dangerous because I wouldn't need them the entire pregnancy. I heard baby's heartbeat in post-op recovery, the next morning before I was released from the hospital and yesterday at my check up.
Avatar f tn You really need a good clinical evaluation. Appendicitis is a possibility so are gastrointestinal problems or an ovarian cyst. Contact your PCP and make an appointment or if your pain is acute please go to your local ER Department. We will look forward to hearing from you again. Best of luck and please take care of yourself.
231441 tn?1333892766 Hi, I posted way back in early May with tummy pain. Well that pain continued for the next 3 months, and I also got pregnant. Am now 13 weeks. Finally after seeing about 4 gastro doctors all of whom said the pain was too non-specific and I shouldn't worry about it - although 1 told me it was gall stones and I should have my gall bladder removed, the pain got much worse. I went to the ER last 15th July.
Avatar f tn First of all I had terrible pain last year and finally got taken to the walk in centre by my boyfriend were I got told I had one of four different things; an ovarian cyst, appendicitis, a urine infection or gall stones, so I then got told to go to A&E.
Avatar n tn Hi. I had a colonoscopy on the 10th and ended up with appendicitis. Had laparoscopy appendectomy on the 12th. I am soooo incredibly run-down. I am 41 years old and normally very active. Is this normal to feel this run down (I mean no energy....
Avatar n tn Hello, i am going to see a gynecologyst and gastroenterologist soon, but wouldnt they have seen my ovaries being pushed up against my appendix through the ct scan or ultrasound?? Is that what could be causing my pain?? Also, on 9-11 at about 2 in the morning i went to the ER my pain was so bad and they gave me morphine and it was my first time recieving morphine and im only 16..
Avatar f tn For the past year now I have noticed that I get bad menstrual cramps on my lower right abdomen whem I first got them i feared appendicitis, the pain eventually got to the point of me going to the hospital. They did a blood test and told me i was fine.
Avatar n tn What you describe could be a number of things, including pancreatitis, appendicitis, diverticulitis, ... or something else altogether. This set of symptoms doesn't seem to be the type one can afford to ignore. Pls see a doc/urgent care right away. Hope you'll write again to let us know how you're doing.
Avatar m tn It hurts to walk and I must sit down with great care, I have performed some of the tests for appendicitis such as lying supine with my right leg bent and pushing over to the left...this results in much pain. Having been an EMT for many years I understand this could be appendicitis, however, I am confused about the pain free lapses. I live in the middle of no where with poor hospitals about 2 and a half hours away.
Avatar n tn As far as I know, the most apparent symptom of appendicitis (inflammation of the appendix) is a dull pain in the stomach on the right side, that moves to severe lower right abdominal pain. http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/digestive-diseases-appendicitis The above website explains different symptoms that could accompany appendicitis.
Avatar n tn When I had appendecitis I woke up in pain with a lot of abdominal pressure and was admitted for surgery that day. It felt like I was really constipated or something (sorry TMI), and was nauseous. It sounds like the pain you are having is more likely related to the pcos. I have had ovarian cysts in the past and it felt a lot like what you are describing. I'm not an expert, just my personal experience.
Avatar m tn An appendix is usually on the right side of your stomach and you will usually run a high fever with appendicitis. However, if you are still concerned, you can call your doctor and ask to speak to a nurse.
Avatar f tn now i am developing the same pain again after about 20 hours, so i want to ask can it be appendicitis even if ultrasound doesnt show it? one of my friend got operated last month, she was having the same pain but ultrasound didnt show anything even then she got operated n now is fine!
Avatar f tn Now the next day my lower right stomach is pretty tender, nowhere else, just lower right side. Should I be worried about appendicitis? Could it be tender from extreme gas and bloating? Thoughts?
1528200 tn?1291860784 Have you had a pelvic ultrasound done? Have they looked for appendicitis? Have they done a Laparoscopy?
Avatar n tn s suggestions are good but if pain continues, that is a reason to consider looking insdie with a laparoscopy. Hopefully, you have followed up with your OB Gyn and a plan has been made. Pain can also be unrelated to the ovaries. Some people have appendicitis or inflammatory bowel disease or diverticulitis. If the pain persists, it would be important to evaluate for these other possibilities as well.
740419 tn?1309278186 Here's some follow-up info, I just had an upper GI X-ray w/ small bowel follow-through, and it looks like I have an obstructed appendix (at least partially obstructed, the contrast liquid definitely did not go into it).
