Appendicitis and laparoscopy

Common Questions and Answers about Appendicitis and laparoscopy

appendicitis

Avatar n tn I had a laparoscopy done last week to get rid of my appendicitis. It was early stage appendicitis. The next day after surgery I was feeling expected pain where the incisions were. I took Norco painkiller. After a couple of days I noticed high heart rate when lying down, couple of times it grew so uncomfortable that I had to walk around a bit to feel comfortable.
Avatar f tn Appendicitis and Endometriosis have a high correlation rate, I concur with the other posters, get it checked out.
Avatar f tn What was ur recovery like after the laparoscopy?
Avatar n tn I am at my wits end -- I have a re-occurring right side (only) pain (that starts dull for 1 or 2 days and then honestly feels like appendicitis at its worst...before subsiding) that I get 3/4 days into my period and ONLY when I have my period. If I take the pill continuously (no breaks) - I don't get the pain.
Avatar f tn t be causing me my pain. She said my symptoms sounded like appendicitis and sent me to the hospital for a CT scan. The scan came back normal. The following day the pain increased and I went to the ER. They also saw the cyst on ultrasound and admitted me for further tests. Spent 4 days in that hospital with a colonoscopy done (also normal). I told them it may be a hernia and they called a gen surgeon to examine me.
486360 tn?1227214728 ve had several ultrasounds, 2 CT scans, a laparoscopy, a cystoscopy, and a colonoscopy. I have been told that I have polycystic ovaries, however my doctor says that these shouldn't cause pain (which I don't believe). My CT scan revealed a 5mm calcium deposit that was not a kidney stone.
4173185 tn?1350594679 The next month it was a little worse, and it just gradually kept getting worse and worse until it hurt almost 24/7. I went to the doctor and she said it was hormones balancing out and put me on birth control. Six months later it was still really bad, birth control didn't help anything but pretty much making my period non-existent. I went back to her and she had me get an ultrasound to check for endometriosis, she said it was all good.
Avatar f tn The first time they checked for appendicitis and sent me home with some pain meds when nothing was found. The second time I was admitted for tests which still showed nothing. At that point I was treated like a person who just wanted attention and/or drugs. I saw my on/gyn after and she referd me to a specialist. I am scheduled for an exploratory laparoscopy next month but she isn't sure she will find anything. I just don't understand why nothing can be found and yet I am still in pain.
Avatar m tn For the last couple days I have been having aching type pain in my stomach along with the right mid/lower part of my abdomen (where my intestines seem to be). I went to my general doctor and he said it might be h plylori infection. He ran a test to check for that. Can stomach pain from h pylori also cause pain in the intestines (which is where the right sided mid/lower pain seems to be)? Also, about a year ago I had colon resection surgery for diverticulitis in my descending colon.
Avatar f tn I was only 4 weeks along when I was told I needed a laparoscopy done I had a mass on my left ovary and with ulttrasound they could not rule out etopic..
Avatar n tn Sometimes the pain felt like it spread downwards and to my back. It was like a cramp feeling. I felt very full and was always thirsty. I urinated a lot due to drinking so much water. The pains were never sharp. I looked so bloated even though my diet was regular and did not consist of too much dairy or salt. My periods were also very irregular.
Avatar n tn Hi. I had a colonoscopy on the 10th and ended up with appendicitis. Had laparoscopy appendectomy on the 12th. I am soooo incredibly run-down. I am 41 years old and normally very active. Is this normal to feel this run down (I mean no energy....
Avatar f tn Dear any one who reads this, I beg you to help me. First of all I had terrible pain last year and finally got taken to the walk in centre by my boyfriend were I got told I had one of four different things; an ovarian cyst, appendicitis, a urine infection or gall stones, so I then got told to go to A&E.
Avatar f tn Exactly 4 weeks later I developed appendicitis and had it removed via laparoscopic surgery, the surgeon said it was "messy in there". I have had no other symptoms suggestive of HIV. My concern is the appendicitis was due to lymphoid hyperplasia (swollen lymph tissue) caused from a viral infection (HIV) given it occurred so soon after exposure. It seems a bit out there to consider them related however I do see it as a possibility, but was unable to find any studies to confirm.
Avatar m tn 4. Appendicitis goes with nausea, vomiting and raised leukocytes in the blood. Appendicitis is painfull at any time you press on area. Bouncing sign is present: lye down on the back and press deeply sopmewhere on your lower LEFT abdomen, then release the pressure quickly. In peritonitis or appendicitis you should feel a sharp pain on the LRQ area. Peritonitis would also show marked inflammation in the blood.
Avatar f tn Then I went to a Gynaecologist, she said 7cm and recommended a laparascopy and these extra two procedures. I was shocked and just heard a bit of something like cleaning etc. I did a CT scan again in a month's time, the cyst was still there. My concern now is I never had any issues with my period and I only googled up Hysteroscopy and D&C. I never have pain on my left side. Should I be doing just the laparoscopy to remove the cyst or should I also do the other two procedures?
Avatar n tn could that be the reason i have not gotton appendicitis yet? and wouldnt they see in the ct scan and ultra sound that my right ovary is in close proximity of my appendix and wouldve said something? or only my gynecologist can see that? im just very curious and worried, sorry for all these questions.
Avatar f tn After that i went to my doctor who reffered me to a gynecologist who then reffered me to ultrasound to check for eendometriosis,I didnt have any endometriosis and my gynecologist told me i must be unlucky and just have very painful periods, she prescribede birth control, i took it for a bit nut it didnt work out (made me badly nauseous) i just deal with the pain now. But im curious, is it normal?
Avatar f tn Hi, About a month or two ago, I believe I had strained some muscles while working out. The pain didn't happen right away maybe one or two weeks afterwards. At first it stemmed from my neck, shoulders, and upper back. Soon after I started to feel pain in my chest, both sides right by my armpits, lower back, and abdomen area especially on my right side. The pain is usually sharp. When I do sit for a long period of time, both my right and left sides hurt but more on my right.
3099026 tn?1341175791 I have recently had blood in my urine (which has never happened before) and i went to the doctor and they are calling for an emergency laparoscopy and something else because they believe that the tissue is now in my bladder too. i'm only 16 yrs. old. Any help ?
Avatar m tn An appendix is usually on the right side of your stomach and you will usually run a high fever with appendicitis. However, if you are still concerned, you can call your doctor and ask to speak to a nurse.
Avatar n tn I am experiencing exactly what you described now today would be the 4th day... everyone saying I should be at the ER but I am terrified of hospitals. My pain constant in my back on the sides like the flank area and that's a constant dull ache it radiates to my abdominal but there's a sharp pain that goes straight through to the back Right side of abdomen two inches from my naval ...
Avatar n tn I have contact nausea and slight unsteadiness. I have had a CT of my head and a ECG of my heart to rule out anything extremely serious. At times the nausea gets soo bad i feel like i may faint. Also the pains in my abdomen seem to get worse when i eat or after a night out drinking. Then the pain gets very sharp and spreads to the left side and lower left of the back, i get hit by a sudden feeling of weakness and have to lie down.
Avatar f tn now i am developing the same pain again after about 20 hours, so i want to ask can it be appendicitis even if ultrasound doesnt show it? one of my friend got operated last month, she was having the same pain but ultrasound didnt show anything even then she got operated n now is fine!
