Common Questions and Answers about Appendicitis causes women

appendicitis

Avatar n tn Sounds like either an ovarian cyst or appendicitis. Pain making you bend over definitely is what a cyst can do. But if you start to get a lot of abdominal pain, it could also be your appendix.
Avatar n tn It can also be due to inguinal hernia. Other than that at times pelvic inflammatory disease in women causes a lower abdominal pain along with a pelvic pain. Since I cannot examine you and know other related conditions you may be having, nor is a detailed history possible on net, I have listed the various possibilities that should be looked into. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral. Take care!
Avatar n tn I had asked if it was appendicitis, but the doctor said it was not. But I am wondering what else it could be then or do you think the doctor misdiagnosed?
Avatar m tn t necessarily rule out appendix issues either - The symptoms of appendicitis can vary. It can be hard to diagnose appendicitis in young children, the elderly, and women of childbearing age. The first symptom is often pain around your belly button. (See: Abdominal pain) The pain may be minor at first, but it becomes more sharp and severe. Your appetite will be reduced and you may have nausea, vomiting, and a low fever.
1661545 tn?1302685376 what instructions should i give to a 40 years old women, para 1+1, who is currently pregnant and presented with signs of appendicitis, she is known asthmatic known diabetic that she developed since her 1st conception, with family history of Diabetes and hypertension. Thank you in advane...
Avatar m tn It hurts to walk and I must sit down with great care, I have performed some of the tests for appendicitis such as lying supine with my right leg bent and pushing over to the left...this results in much pain. Having been an EMT for many years I understand this could be appendicitis, however, I am confused about the pain free lapses. I live in the middle of no where with poor hospitals about 2 and a half hours away.
5485096 tn?1375574235 Actually most GI issues will not show up on a CT scan. Appendicitis, especially chronic and ther bowel disorders causing chronic inflammation and thickening of bowel or bowel growths and cancer can be caught on CT scan. For conditions like IBS, Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis, you need to get a video encapsule endoscopy or a sigmoidoscopy or a colonoscopy, as appropriate. Conditions like celiac can be ruled out by specific blood tests.
Avatar n tn what causes apendasidous has it got anything to do with what you eat? if so what foods!
Avatar f tn ve searched for my simptoms online. This way I found out about stump appendicitis and I got mortified it could be that. Could the CT scan have missed it? All the other organs seemed fine. Last year, I didn't develop fever or vomiting with my appendicitis, reason why it was hard to diagnose, especially because it was behind my ceccum (for 1 month doctors suspected ovary pain...until my appendix burst). Can this time be stump appendicitis and doctors mistake it for cysts again??
Avatar m tn I had the same thing and it turned out that I am in the one in two million people with thoracic hernations pressing on the nerves that innervate the right abdominal area! It causes the same pain as appendicitis etc. Good luck.
Avatar n tn //www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/appendicitis/symptoms-causes/syc-20369543. This does not really sound like that issue though. How are you now?
Avatar f tn You may be able to tell if it's appendicitis. Have her push on the area that hurts in her lower right. If it hurts more. It SHOULDN'T BE appendicitis. Most of the time appendicitis will find relief with pressure and (sadly) extreme pain when pressure is released. Also, I WOULD ask for an ultrasound because that's how my first ovarian cyst rupture presented!
Avatar f tn Lower right abdomen pain is commonly due to appendicitis. The pain, can at times come and go and not give the classic picture. Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, infection in kidney, kidney stones, constipation, ovary involvement in women, ectopic pregnancy in women (ruled out due to long history) , and mesentry (a thin tissue that carries the blood, nerves and lymphatics for the intestine) involvement.
Avatar n tn Hi For about ten hours now, I've have a dull ache that comes and goes in my lower right abdomen. It's not currently severe, just a dull ache for about five seconds every two or so minutes, not continuous. Anybody else experience this? I read that it could be a symptom of IBS/IBD, which would make sense as I'm currently being tested for those conditions. I'm just terrified that it's early appendicitis as I've never experienced it before.
Avatar f tn Hi All, I'm hoping someone here may be able to help me figure my issue out. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Basics: I have been experiencing random,SEVERE,Charlie-Horse-Like pains in mostly my lower right abdomen.Sometimes it will happen on the left side but it will go from lower to upper abdomen. These random, severe cramps/spasms started about 6 months ago with no warning.
671285 tn?1292660161 Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, infection in kidney, kidney stones, constipation, ovary involvement in women, ectopic pregnancy in women, mesentry (a thin tissue that carries the blood, nerves and lymphatics for the intestine) involvement, and an abscess in rectus abdominis muscle or psoas muscle can all cause lower right abdomen pain. If you cannot consult your doctor until next week, maybe you can go to ER. The symptoms could be due to IBS but appendicitis needs to be ruled out.
Avatar f tn I'm scared out of my mind that I have appendicitis but also I don't know whether it could be something psychological or a muscle pull. It's in my abdominal area, kind of lower but sometimes goes up and on the right hand side. I've been passing gas a bit which relieves me a bit but the achy pain is still there.
1552748 tn?1294211776 I seen a doctor and have an ultrasound form to exclude appendicitis and am also on pain killers which are safe through pregnancy.
203342 tn?1328737207 Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, infection in kidney, kidney stones, constipation, ovary involvement in women, ectopic pregnancy in women, mesentry involvement, and an abscess in rectus abdominis muscle or psoas muscle can all cause lower right abdomen pain. Right flank pain is generally due to kidney stones. All the conditions mentioned above can cause pain near the hip area on the abdominal side. An ultrasound or CT scan of abdomen is definitely required. Hope this helps.
6785011 tn?1384780177 Hi, the symptoms you described could be due to appendicitis, that’s when you have pain on the right side just above the pelvis and you may also have referred pain around the umbilicus (belly button). The other symptoms for Appendicitis are fever, nausea, vomiting and malaise. It could also be a premenstrual symptom. The other causes for pain could be urinary tract infections, pelvic infections, renal colic and sometimes bowel infections.
Avatar m tn Hi, the pain may not be related to colonoscopy. It could be appendicitis. The pain in appendicitis generally starts around the umbilicus and moves to the lower right quadrant of the abdomen. The other symptoms for Appendicitis are fever, nausea, vomiting and malaise. The other causes for pain could be urinary tract infection, pelvic infections, renal colic and sometimes bowel infections. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. Regards.
Avatar n tn re very young for this to be cancer. Have they checked you for appendicitis? It causes pain to go down your leg, and pain between your ovary area and navel. I have never heard of anyone having sciatica pain with colon cancer, I think this was more of a coincidence with the lady you speak of. A blood test would tell your doctor if this is appendicitis. I have seen cases where it lasts quite awhile before becoming really inflammed.
397460 tn?1268533736 I hope you have been investigated for common causes of right iliac fossa pain in women. These may be appendicitis, diverticular disease and meckel’s diverticulitis. Crohn’s disease an inflammatory bowel disease may mimic an appendicitis attack. Certain gynecological conditions like pelvic inflammatory disease, torsion of ovarian cyst. Have you been ruled out for a urinary tract infection and ureteric stone causing colicky pain and microscopic hematuria?
Avatar n tn I would as first have you seen a Gyn and had a Tv/Us? This is the first test a gyn does if a cyst is suspected, as well as doing an internal exam. You didn't mention how old you are, as in younger women cysts are quite common. I think it would be a good idea to make an appointment with one and have a complete evaluation. You know your body, and you should not be having pain, so you need to find a doctor that will find out what's going on with you.
230972 tn?1224470126 * Appendicitis - when the appendix become inflamed you may have appendicitis. This condition is most often characterized by nausea, vomiting, fever and worsening pain. You may also have little appetite. Typically this pain is felt higher in the abdomen then the pain associated with the round ligament. * Ovarian Cysts - The ovaries sometimes contain cysts that may be painful. At other times an ovary may twist, causing severe abdominal pain.
Avatar n tn At times the pain is sharp and stabbing and causes me to double over in pain - I would give it a 7 out of 10 for intensity. Other times the pain on my right side is dull and aching, and sometimes this is replaced with a burning sensation. Occassionally I have pain just to the left of my bellybutton which can be quite sharp (as though someone were prodding me with a needle).
