Appendicitis causes back pain

Common Questions and Answers about Appendicitis causes back pain

appendicitis

Avatar n tn re very young for this to be cancer. Have they checked you for appendicitis? It causes pain to go down your leg, and pain between your ovary area and navel. I have never heard of anyone having sciatica pain with colon cancer, I think this was more of a coincidence with the lady you speak of. A blood test would tell your doctor if this is appendicitis. I have seen cases where it lasts quite awhile before becoming really inflammed.
Avatar m tn Abdominal pain) The pain may be minor at first, but it becomes more sharp and severe. Your appetite will be reduced and you may have nausea, vomiting, and a low fever. As the swelling in the appendix increases, the pain tends to move into your right lower abdomen. It focuses right above the appendix at a place called McBurney's point. This most often occurs 12 to 24 hours after the illness starts.
Avatar m tn Having been an EMT for many years I understand this could be appendicitis, however, I am confused about the pain free lapses. I live in the middle of no where with poor hospitals about 2 and a half hours away. I am hesitant to spend 5 hours in an ER and then having no pain when I am finally seen. Does it make sense to have classic appendicitis symptoms that go completely away for a few days at a time over a 3 month course?
Avatar m tn I had the same thing and it turned out that I am in the one in two million people with thoracic hernations pressing on the nerves that innervate the right abdominal area! It causes the same pain as appendicitis etc. Good luck.
Avatar n tn There are various causes of right lower quadrant abdominal pain, including but not limited to appendicitis, IBS/IBD, kidney/ureteral stone, bladder infection, and hernia, as well as female-specific conditions, such as pelvic inflammatory disease, endometriosis, ovarian cyst, ovarian torsion, and ectopic pregnancy. Making the correct diagnosis requires a combination of clinical history and physical examination, as well as laboratory and imaging tests.
Avatar m tn Hi, the pain may not be related to colonoscopy. It could be appendicitis. The pain in appendicitis generally starts around the umbilicus and moves to the lower right quadrant of the abdomen. The other symptoms for Appendicitis are fever, nausea, vomiting and malaise. The other causes for pain could be urinary tract infection, pelvic infections, renal colic and sometimes bowel infections. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. Regards.
Avatar f tn I'm scared out of my mind that I have appendicitis but also I don't know whether it could be something psychological or a muscle pull. It's in my abdominal area, kind of lower but sometimes goes up and on the right hand side. I've been passing gas a bit which relieves me a bit but the achy pain is still there.
Avatar n tn A few hours later and I was out of surgery. As far as the central stomach pains, I was told by the ER Dr. that appendicitis often causes central upper abdominal pain......
5441042 tn?1368009773 Well, there can be many causes for this pain such as muscle pull, colitis, IBS or trapped gas. However, since it is in right side and in appendix area, it is important to rule out appendicitis immediately. Please consult your doctor regarding this or go to the ER. Hope this helps. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
6785011 tn?1384780177 Hi, the symptoms you described could be due to appendicitis, that’s when you have pain on the right side just above the pelvis and you may also have referred pain around the umbilicus (belly button). The other symptoms for Appendicitis are fever, nausea, vomiting and malaise. It could also be a premenstrual symptom. The other causes for pain could be urinary tract infections, pelvic infections, renal colic and sometimes bowel infections.
Avatar n tn I also have some pain pain in my back, opposite the pain on the front. My last menses was on March 23rd and lasted for 4 days. I take BP meds (labatelol) for moderately high BP, I have been diagnosed with PCOS, and was prescribed Victoza for that about 5 months ago. I take a prenatal vitamin every day. I am afraid I have appendicitis.
Avatar n tn At times the pain is sharp and stabbing and causes me to double over in pain - I would give it a 7 out of 10 for intensity. Other times the pain on my right side is dull and aching, and sometimes this is replaced with a burning sensation. Occassionally I have pain just to the left of my bellybutton which can be quite sharp (as though someone were prodding me with a needle).
Avatar f tn Last night I started having a dull pain on the right side of my abdomen, across from my belly button, it went away today but came back around lunch time. It went away again and now at 2am it has come back. I pressed on my stomach a bit and it send a shooting pain through my belly button area. Its not SUPER painful, just more of a discomfort. I've also started urinating WAY more in the past hour and I'm not sure if its related but my knees began aching REALLY bad out of nowhere.
Avatar m tn Actually I am male. Anyway, I went to the doctor today, and after normal blood and urine tests, all the doctor could say was that it may be appendicitis or sore muscles. I really don't think it is appendicitis. She said if it gets worst to go to the E.R. I was wondering, since the pain is not constant and there doesn't seem to be a consistent thing that causes the pain (again the pain is mostly in the groin and right on the side) how much of that is a chance at appendicitis?
Avatar m tn The pain may not be related to the liver. Pain in the lower right quadrant can be due to appendicitis. The other symptoms for Appendicitis are fever, nausea, vomiting and malaise. It may not be picked up by imaging modalities. The other causes for pain could be urinary tract infection, renal colic and sometimes bowel infections. It could also be due to diverticulitis, Chron's disease, ulcerative colitis and parasitic infections.
Avatar n tn On the one hand, if you've got the flu, you're sick and will be sick until you aren't sick anymore. On the other, if you're concerned, a doctor would be much more valuable to you than us. If it were appendicitis, I'd think the pain would be a whole lot more than what you're describing, but if you really think you ever do have that go directly to a doctor, not to a website.
Avatar f tn You may be able to tell if it's appendicitis. Have her push on the area that hurts in her lower right. If it hurts more. It SHOULDN'T BE appendicitis. Most of the time appendicitis will find relief with pressure and (sadly) extreme pain when pressure is released. Also, I WOULD ask for an ultrasound because that's how my first ovarian cyst rupture presented!
Avatar m tn I also have this pulsating around my belly button and it will shoot down to the right side then give me back pain. I also have headaches and have gotten easily hot and overheated during the night. I know im not pregnant because ive testes and JUST came off my period and it was normal. Could this be my apendix? UTI? I had a UTI about 2 months ago could i have another? Oh and i feel like i have trappe gas and it travels all over my stomach.

1448936 tn?1363206346 I've been doing somewhat ok with my health anxiety. I've slowly been getting my appetite back and feeling hunger pains again. I still don't want to eat even when I am hungry but I understand that to be a symptom of depression which I'm working on with my therapist. However I just looked up the symptoms of appendicitis and have convinced myself that I have it because I've been dealing with nausea and loss of appetite.
Avatar n tn Had no bowel movement for over 7 days, I decided to take 2 pills of laxative, next early morning I woke up with a sharp pain in my lower right and lower near the pelvis area, finally had bowel movement, then went back to sleep for another few hours, woke up with pain in lower right and stomach, later in the day I felt better, and the pain in lower right came back, noticed I had a little vaginal bleeding, but then it stopped and the pain goes and comes all night and all day..
Avatar f tn I had horrible back pain with my first preg but when my back started hurting this time i tried using a pillow and havent had any pain sense. I sleep on my side with my pillow next to my stomach with one leg bent and pillow under it.
