Common Questions and Answers about Appendicitis and diarrhea

appendicitis

Avatar m tn If pulse is more than 80 and blood shows high TLC counts, is suggestive of appendicitis. In case of ureter stone, urine usually shows infection and ultrasound is diagnostic, pain is usually radiating in nature. Well colon pain is colicky or dull in nature, do you have recent history of diarrhea?
Avatar f tn Recently I had diarrhea for three days straight and then feeling constipated. I would sit in the bathroom for an hour or two straining to push the stool out but nothing comes out. Before that, my bowel movement was fine. I tried drinking prune juice and using one of those laxatives that you insert into the rectum to make it easier to go. At first, it did help in relieving my bowel movement but I would have diarrhea followed an incomplete evacuation of my stool.
Avatar n tn The typical symptoms of appendicitis is pain in the lower right of your belly. You may get nausea, vomiting and diarrhea with fever. You do not have all the symptoms. Sometimes pain or discomfort in the lower right belly area (or in the belly of children) may be due to Mesenteric adenitis which is inflammation of the mesenteric lymph nodes. Sometimes it is hard to know if it is the mesenteric gland or the appendix that is causing the problem and an appendectomy has been carried.
Avatar n tn I have a 5 year old boy and he is running a fever of 102.6 is is complaining of abdominal pain around his belly button. He is very lethargic and he will not eat. He is not voiding as much. What could be wrong with him. There is no diarrhea or vomiting.
5154898 tn?1374773319 OK, I've been worried sick since about 4 days ago. It all started when i had a muscle spasm beside my belly button (right side), it lasted a whole day. I woke up the next day with a dull pain in the same spot, nothing really painful, just enough to worry me. Now, my lower front (right side), my right side and back on the right side has been aching.
Avatar m tn hi im really worried i have appendicitis, i had diarrhea for 3 days, and now after all of that my lower right and lower left sides have a dull, tenderness to them, its not severe pain but im worried it might become severe. the more i think and read abut it the more it hurts. above my belly button hurt when touched as well, i do not have a fever, and i have not been vomiting, but once in a while my stomach feels like there s a dull kick in those three areas.
Avatar m tn t necessarily rule out appendix issues either - The symptoms of appendicitis can vary. It can be hard to diagnose appendicitis in young children, the elderly, and women of childbearing age. The first symptom is often pain around your belly button. (See: Abdominal pain) The pain may be minor at first, but it becomes more sharp and severe. Your appetite will be reduced and you may have nausea, vomiting, and a low fever.
Avatar n tn This past Sunday, I was sent home from the ER with a diagnosis of early appendicitis. I'd been suffering from a fever, lower/midline abdominal pain on my right side, and severe diarrhea for several days, and was told by my doctor to go to the ER to rule out appendicitis. Besides my signs/symptoms, the only abnormal finding was a slightly enlarged appendix in the ultrasound and CT.
18799278 tn?1484274288 4 days ago i got severe lower stomach pain that lasted a few hours along with vomiting diarrhea and cold sweats then got so cold i was shaking but since then i have this dull pain in my stomach were my belly button is it actually feels like a rock is in there most of the time if i move it hurts more and it even feels sore to touch that part of my stomach sometimes standing if i stand up to long i feel i will faint does any one know if this is normal ad what could it be :(
Avatar m tn showed that I had borderline appendicitis due to the appendicitis not filling with the contrast fully and the mesenteric lymph nodes of the area being “shoddy”. I was given Cipro and Flagyl for two weeks to see if that would fight the infection. After an ultrasound, they found my appendix healed completely. While the yellow explosive diarrhea has returned to coming 2-3 times/week (rather than the daily occurances) the pain in my lower right abdomen and back continued at the same intensity.
Avatar f tn My right leg started hurting/be mumbish, m right hip and my right lower back is also in pain. I have not vomited or had diarrhea nor do I have a fever. Do I have appendicitis or is it just gas?
Avatar n tn During the first episode, the pain was so bad he could not walk. They suspected appendicitis, but an ultrasound turned up nothing and surgeon determined it was not appendicitis. During each episode, the inflammation markers in his blood rise (ESR 20, CRP 67), but then fall to normal levels after the episode ends. An X-ray showed nothing.
Avatar n tn Watery stools, frequently explosive, bloating and gurgling in my gut. Am afraid to eat because I have diarrhea soon after. Had Ultrasound two weeks ago to rule out appendicitis because I had lots of lower right quadrant pain. They also did a CT scan.they ruled out appendicits, diverticulitis, colitis, Chrohn's disiease, ovarian cycts. but they did note that my liver was enlarged and had fatty deposits. am wondering if there is a correlation to my diarrhea and the fatty liver.
Avatar n tn I've had a lot of stress and anxiety for 5 years now (I'm a teen) so I'm not that surprised when my intestines are doing weird stuff like roughly shifting my food around, giving me either constipation or diarrhea, waking me up in the morning because I need to go to the bathroom... But this evening I started having pain on the right side of my belly, a little higher than my bone but still pretty low.
Avatar f tn Because since then pain gotten worse, no appetite really, with not eating hardly anything still have diarrhea frequently and pass gas since Thursday and don’t feel feverish.
Avatar f tn I have all if the appendicitis symptoms ( bloating, diarrhea, constipation, severe abdominal pain followed by vomiting) but aren't these all pregnancy things to? I'm 41/2 weeks.
Avatar f tn I had 3 bowel movements between 6pm Thursday and Friday at 5am when I woke up (the day I visited the ER). And have gone frequently since. Now over 30 hours later I have diarrhea. Could it still be appendicitis? I have almost no pain, just a little pressure on the right side. I’m just worried of an appendix rupture.
Avatar m tn If you are 18 year old male it sounds to me like you have appendicitis, Go to a surgeon tell him you are having problems passing gas and constipation and diarrhea and he will order a laporscopy but tell him to take it out no matter what. I had mine out last week and it I feel remarkably better, and I want to explain to people that the appendix has strange symptoms and will cause real damage if you don't get it removed. Remember contact a SURGEON in your area not a Gastro specialist.
Avatar n tn Others are irritable bowel syndrome(irregular bowel movements of constipation and diarrhea along with the pain and nausea are there), Crohn's disease(Crohn's disease most commonly affects the last part of the small intestine, usually located in the right lower abdomen) ,kidney infections, intestinal obstruction, mesenteric occlusion or enteritis. Without examaintion and investigations like an ultrasound and CT scan abdomen, diagnosis is tough.
Avatar f tn s been having temps and diarrhea loss of appetite headaches on and off the last week and a half she gets light head and nausea and now she has as she describes it "an aching pain" in her stomach on the right side next to her bellybutton What could be causing it and what should i do
Avatar n tn No diarrhea, no vomiting, a little constipated even though I drink lots of water and coffee. Went back to my surgeon and had an ultrasound 2 weeks ago plus a blood test to see if there's an abscess. Fortunately, everything was normal. But the pain and bloating are still there. Thank you in advance for your help.
Avatar f tn However, a couple of hours before I eat and even a couple of hours after the pain becomes more intense. My bowel movements have not changed much. Sometimes I do have diarrhea and I go everyday but I am always seeing blood in the stool. I have no fever or anything like that, nor am I having the typical rebound pain or any pain in my right lower stomach. It seems that the pain moves when I change position if that makes sense.
Avatar f tn I have been having mild to severe pain in my upper right abdomen for since mid-October. The first day I was simply dizzy, the second day I was dizzier and then had violent diarrhea and vomiting, which lasted a few hours. After that the constant abdominal pain set it and hasn't gone away since. Some days I feel pretty good and can do everyday things, but more often I can't even get up.
Avatar f tn I went to an aftercare and was told it could be appendicitis so they sent me to the er. The pain just kept getting worse and worse even at the er. They gave me a dose of hydrocodone and it did not even touch the pain. By now I was up to about an 8/10 for pain level. Then as the hour went on my pain became a 12/10 to the point where I was literally moaning and crying in pain in my lower right side all the way around to my back. They gave me two does of dilated at it did not touch it.
Avatar n tn With appendicitis you would feel very ill, have a fever, possible diarrhea and vomiting. The pain would settle and be more in on the right side. If you are concerned, even with your constipation, make an appointment as see your doctor. The doctor will examine you for any possible obstructions, and prescribe you with a prescription, or give you advice. You can get suppository gels and also over the counter medications to loosen up the stools and help with the elimination.
Avatar f tn IF the pain has resolved, I would think that it would be OK for you to wait and see if it comes back or if you develop other symptoms such as fever, vomiting, diarrhea, etc. If the pain persists or if these other symptoms arise then it really needs to be evaluated as it could be something serious such as appendicitis, ovarian cyst, etc. Hope this helps. Good luck.
Avatar m tn okay i am not sure if this will help but it always helps for me like when I'm on the toilet and I have diarrhea and cramps just lay on the floor ( its usually cold ) it will be cold at first and that's what we want because when we get cramps and diarrhea, our stomach acids are really hot and their boiling so you want to cool them down by laying on bathroom floor. drink really cold water. also i hope my answer helped, you should try it..
