666921 tn?1254990618 I personally don't take antihistamine but just some advice I read that - antihistamine suppresses the immune system - never thought about it before - they work like steroids - some very good advice on another forum was - do not take antihistamine if you have lyme I am sure some of you already knew this but just thought I would mention it
Avatar f tn I am only 18, and I have never had any dry eye problems before I started having insomnia and taking antihistamines.
314892 tn?1264623903 I have found some interviews/articles by Dr. M and I am so impressed. He sometimes uses Benicar along with antibiotics. This is not a doctor who will dismiss me. The endo assured me. I friend of a friend has been to this practice and has been very pleased. So, I am almost there. I am just waiting for them to call me back to get an appointment. I left a message yesterday afternoon, so I suspect I will hear from them today. I hope it is ok to post this article: http://www.carrollcountytimes.
Avatar f tn In recent years there have been many articles written by doctors about how their patients' medical conditions have resolved or at least become much less severe thanks to their pets. The medical conditions that were made better by pets were predominantly things such as anxiety and things of that nature.
Avatar m tn Have you changed your under garments recently? Take antihistamine tablet and a apply steroid antibiotic ointment. If there is no change, you may contact any dermatologist.
Avatar n tn I recently started using a new body wash, and after a couple of days 4-5 uses, I started to develop a rash all over my body which is accompanied by extreme itching. I've since stopped using the body wash and switched back to soap. I've also started using benadryll to relieve the itching. It's been a few days but the rash hasn't started to go away yet. How long does it usually take for the skin to clear up, and are there any other treatments for it?

Avatar f tn My head feels so groggy, my dizziness increases and my overall feeling ill gets worse. What I do, is take an antihistamine and it seems to help or at least reduce the effects. High humidity for me is the worse, extreme heat also affects me, now - I live in Canada so winter is fast approaching and when it is humid and cold I get hives instead of the other symptoms. I only have treated with the antihistamines but would like to see what everyone else does to cope.
368646 tn?1208393887 My TSH is 4.6 and my doc isn't really concerned because she uses the old range for test results. I'm sure she won't just take my word for it when I tell her the new range max is 3.0. I need to back it up with research/articles. Can you please send me liks of any research shownig the new range is approved and should be used? Thanks for your help!
Avatar n tn Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions and see if it helps. You could take some oral antihistamine medications like cetrizine or loratadine. You need to maintain a good personal hygiene . Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g.

612551 tn?1450022175 I find relief taking Tylenol-type pain killer and an antihistamine, store brand Benadryl D. It has been this way for a couple of days, so I post as it isn't just going away. I think it possible the last time I had a similar condition it took more that a couple of days to correct itself. I have never consulted a doctor on this symptom as it is rare but now I see repeats/returns.
257333 tn?1212444612 You did not spell "antihistamine" or "Claritin" correctly, and your post contained several punctuation errors. Just being an honest (and rude) American. In answer to your question, some people who do frequent public speaking are sometimes given small doses of a beta blocker or other similar medication, which can blunt the symptoms that you mention. Here is an article that mentions their use: http://www.drhallowell.com/resources/articles/public_speaking.

Avatar n tn Have you taken oral antiallergic or antihistamine medications for your symptoms? Take loratadine or cetrizine , it will help the lip swelling to subside. You could talk to your doctor/ allergy specialist about the symptoms that you are having and after a clinical examination he/she would be able to tell you whether this is an allergic reaction to the drugs. Let us know about any other doubts that you have and about how you are doing. Post us about what the doctor advises. Regards.
Avatar n tn You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone as dermacort), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). These dry rashes can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Use good quality moisturizers to prevent moisture loss from the skin.

Avatar f tn I am scheduled for cataract surgery next week. My doctor uses the Akreos aspheric lenses, which are hydrophilic acrylic. I have come across articles about IOL calcification in hydrophilic acrylic lenses. Does calcification cause significant problems? Has this problem been mitigated in the latest generation of the Akreos? Which lenses would be safer? Tecnis, maybe?? I can’t find much recent documentation. Can anyone tell me what is the latest research on this issue?
Avatar m tn I'm glad brazil only uses 4th gen. I believe the UK is the same way (for lab tests). I think UK still uses 2nd gen rapid tests. Australia, I believe has standardized on 4th gen. I think the US should standardize on 4th gen. But doctors are free to do whatever they want no matter what the CDC says. And 4th gen machines cost money, so they aren't going to change unless people demand 4th gen tests. But I'm glad to see that the CDC has formally recommended 4th gen testing.
Avatar n tn It has been a week and bumps are still prestn, but less noticible. I have red so many articles on the net, and i think it is a penile yeast infection. But i am not sure...Could you please help me?
Avatar n tn This process uses a laser to destroy the follicle. This reduces the scarring that results from folliculitis. Let us know if you need any other information and consult a skin specialist if the lesion is persistent. Regards.
Avatar n tn My boyfriend is complaining of an under-the-skin-prompted itch/irritation after having sex. It is not visable at all. This just started a couple weeks ago but we've been seeing each other many months. He's blaming me although I have no STDs, no irritations, rash, itch, pain or anything wrong on my "end." When he uses a condom he says the irritation moves up to his scrotum. Did he somehow become allergic to me? Wouldn't that have happened sooner?
