I always have a bad reaction to insect bites or stings with really bad swelling. Normally necessitates application of loads of antihistamine cream, taking maximum dose Piriton tablets for days, then a course of strong antibiotics. If I'm in a situation where I know there is the risk of being bitten, is there any advantage in taking Piriton tablets in advance - along with using insect repellent?
And it`s only getting bigger. Whats happening? What should i do? And the cream that my mom put on it makes it 2 times bigger.
I get it even when no socks or stockings or pants are touching it. I have a prescription cortisone cream which my general practictioner doctor said is not the strongest. The cream relieves somewhat but does not cure. I think it flared originally when I started taking antibiotics for sinus infection but my doctor says impossible. The problem persisted even when I was taking prednisone. I also started a new nasal spray, flonase.
How do I find out what causes this?
Yes I have this itchy scrotum. I'm on a medication that causes eczema. I can't stop taking the medication or else I won't have any place to live. The itching is in fact all over my body; but I learned that certain foods causes me to break out in hives in conjuction with the medication. The itching on my scrotum is forever constant. I've tried all kinds of anti-itch medication as well as 1% hydrocortizones. Nothing works on this itch. I mean no oils,lotions,body wash.
I also notice that when I go out at night, the next morning the hives appear to get worse and the only thing that is helpful is an antihistamine pill. Can someone please offer any suggestions or anything to help me?
Are allergic reactions to stings regional? If we return to the US will our son not be allergic to the wasp venom there?
I was told it was pupps and was given a prescription for an antihistamine and some cream. The cream burns when I apply it and the antihistamine I am uncomfortable taking as it says not to take the in the 3rd trimester on the information. But without it I get so itchy what do I do?
Noew i have this thing that is at the botton lower part of my shaft. it is red and kinda stings to touch. has happened a few times but i put cream and it goes. i dont know what to feel i ahve been assured by my family doctor many times that i am ok . Some little hair things get stuck in my skin, they are short and transparent (white) and it stings so bad I have to take them out with tweezers. It only happens when I am in the beach, maybe some sand particle things?

Most bee and wasp stings are not serious. A minor sting can be painful and sometimes cause a little swelling, redness, burning, or itching at the site of the sting.
Hornets, wasps, yellow jackets, and ants do not leave their stingers, but bees can. If any part of the stinger remains, scrape it out immediately with your fingernail or the edge of a credit card. Do not push on the stinger, or you may squeeze more poison into the wound.
First you need to stay on antihistamine until it is gone. Benadryl is great stuff. You should see a GP or allergist doctor. You definitely had a reaction to that sting and are still having it. Sounds like the ER ruled out anaphylaxis but you did have Benadryl in you so that I'm not sure about the results. Just stay on antihistamine on schedule to prevent something worst.
m just gone through the same stage as your girlfriend. The zovirax cream helps when you apply it but I had to apply it every 3-4 hours. It all depends. It stings a little when its first applied but it quickly stops and then soothes. Also, I read up on some home remedies and after cleansing the area with some peroxide, I would put baking soda on the area, either make a paste with water or use the dry powder. NOW......this REALLLLLYYYY stings and hurts initially.
