Avatar n tn My daughter has recently realized that she has scabies, does anyone know what type of medicine we should use to treat this? Her doctor has perscribed her methylprednisolone but I was just curious if anyone knows of any better medications there are for this.
Avatar f tn They may be bug bites, or it could be scabies. Ask your pharmacist for advice. If it is scabies, you will need a different type of lotion to treat this. Best thing to do is to vacuum your bedroom and every nook and cranny and the creases of the bed and mattress and under the bed and the headboard if you have one. Vacuum the curtains and skirting boards too.

Avatar m tn Perscribed me with cream for the bump, and a different cream for my acne troubles. She said the reason it is not scabies is because there was no itchyness or nothing on my hands. At about 10pm I started to notice tons of little tiny red dots on my thighs that appears out of no where, and some on my knuckles. It might just be dry skin in my just be a heat rash but they showed up quicklly, and are just about everywhere and I mean everywhere.

Avatar n tn from reading up online my symptoms seem to fit scabies the best but the doctor at the walk in clinic said it was definatly not scabies, although she did not examine my genitals just my inner thighs and the back of my legs. It seems that my itching is worst at night and after showers which i read is consistant with scabies; however, my girlfriend does not have any symptoms, nor my room mate.

Avatar m tn I went to the Doctor and was given a perscription for Mometasone Furoate Cream. I used it and the rash continued to spread. I now have it on my arms, legs, back and butt. I have tried Caladryl Clear and it relieves the itch, but the pimples remain. The have been taking the following medications: Simvastatin 40mg, Lisinopril 5mg, Asprin 81mg, One a day Vitamin, Recent changes to my medications are Acarbose 25mg, and Zyrtec 10mg. Could any of these medications be causing the rash???

Avatar m tn t gotten any closer to a solution. My dermatologist suggested a cream to cure scabies but after two applications, my itching still persists. I've tried several creams and am even taking hydroxyzine(sp) to help me go to bed at night. However, nothing is working. I'm going to see an allergist on Monday, but I was hoping that you may be able to suggest something else. I'm trying to problem solve and eliminate things that may be causing it.

Avatar n tn I went to the doctor and she said scabies. Both me and my partner were treated with permitrin(?) cream. She washed everthhing in the house... scrubbed and cleaned. It got better for about a week and then came back. The second trip to the dr, and I was put on the oral medicene for scabies. Mind you, my parter has never broken out. Once again it cleared up, but returned within a week. I have been reading blogsand niced a lot of people with this mysterous problem.
