Avatar m tn After making sure she has washed all of the detergent off her skin I would suggest applying an ointment such as E45 cream and maybe take an antihistamine to stop the itching. If it doesn't improve quickly she should see her doctor as she may need a prescription cream.I hope your wife is feeling better soon.
Avatar m tn I have eczema on my feet and now its slowly showing up on hands. It looks like small bubbles filed with liquid and its growing to the point where i have to pop it. I went to dermatologist and was prescribed fluocinonid 0.05% ointment. I used it for 5 days and did't see any results so i stopped. In the winter time i did not have it and now i have again. So i went one more time to the Doctor and got clobetasol propinate ointment 0.05%.
258127 tn?1223125240 nodules are smaller and they are leaving pin sized holes in the skin when they burst (which they always due, and seep a clearish liquid). Both rashes hurt more when they are wet (showering is a pain.) My doctor told me to put cortizone on it in absence of access to steroid cream, but cortizone is having the same effect as water and making it hurt and get worse. Is there some other over the counter treatment I should try? Thanks!
Avatar f tn I have used hydrocortisone cream and antihistamine such as zyrtec and benadryl and had some prednisone on hand and it is the only thing that seems to help. I hope to eradicate the fleas, but in the meantime what can I do to repel them from biting and relieve this itching?
Avatar m tn My Thyroid has taken on an Itch Allergy now which goes if I put antihistamine cream on my neck where my thyroid is. I also take liquid antihistamine which helps with my throat. I do wonder if there is a correlation between Rapeseed and all these allergies. Rapeseed is grown all year round so for those who suffer all year round is it possible the link is Rapeseed?
Avatar n tn there is no pus or liquid and only blood comes out if picked or scratched, only some of the bumps have hairs coming out of them and the hair not always at the center of the bumps.
Avatar f tn The best hand cream for the papercut-like lesions you describe is Elizabeth Arden 8 hour hand cream. This is good for the dryness and irritation associated with conditions like Allergic contact dermatitis. Avoid exposing your hands to potential allergens like washing-up liquid and clothes detergent. Wear non-latex gloves for household tasks. Eloise.
Avatar m tn And he gave me these samples of Dermatop Prednicarbate Emollient cream 0.1%. It was working excellent to stop the growth of rash. However! I ran out. I went back to him a few days ago, and he gave me a prescription for a big tube of Dermatop Prednicarbate Emollient cream 0.1%. While i was there, he burnt off a portion of the rash with liquid nitrogen which did nothing (rash grew back as it heals). After 3 days of healing, I used the Dermatop Prednicarbate Emollient cream 0.
Avatar f tn I would recommend that you keep some liquid benadryl or zyrtec on hand (liquid gels work quite well also) for a fast acting antihistamine to treat these types of situations. Liquids work much faster than pill forms. Also, if you are on allergy shots, you might want to ask for an Epi-Pen if your doctor doesn't automatically prescribe them to allergy shot patients. A key symptom to look for would be difficulty breathing. If this were to occur, get to an ER ASAP. Feel better.
Avatar f tn Hello. I am becoming increasingly concerned with an ongoing issue I have. I am on prescription Omeprozole and have been for some time. It does a great job keeping heartburn and acid reflux away. However I have learned that I can't have dairy too close to going to bed. If I have ice cream or milk and lay down within an hour or two I wake up coughing and choking on acidic liquid. So I make sure I don't have dairy. Simple. However, the last couple of nights it's been happening anyways.
Avatar f tn I was told it was pupps and was given a prescription for an antihistamine and some cream. The cream burns when I apply it and the antihistamine I am uncomfortable taking as it says not to take the in the 3rd trimester on the information. But without it I get so itchy what do I do?

666921 tn?1254990618 I personally don't take antihistamine but just some advice I read that - antihistamine suppresses the immune system - never thought about it before - they work like steroids - some very good advice on another forum was - do not take antihistamine if you have lyme I am sure some of you already knew this but just thought I would mention it
Avatar f tn Feels like Air pockets under my scalp but it secretes an oil type liquid i have had rougjly a month. I had a rash head to toe which was diagnosed as poison ivy, cortisone shot, 2 steroid packs and antihistamine regiment and still barely any change in skin rash, none on scalp.
Avatar n tn You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used, whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid. But they are available under prescription and should be taken only after consulting a dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar f tn Hi Everyone, I have this dark itchy lumps on my left hand index fingers. It's like a frog's egg it has liquid inside and a dark spot at the middle. I had this since 2008 and seems to be coming back (the itchiness) and when I scratch it, it forms blisters and they multiply. It After a few days, the itchy blisters dries up and become dark and leaves my finger joint thick and hard.
Avatar n tn Its now in most all liquid products like soap, shampoo, body wash, dish soap, shaving cream, etc. The rash can be a run off from the shampoo on the face. Even the "free and clear" soaps and shampoos have it. Check all labels. Doctors are clueless about this chemical that is now widely used, even old products you have always used may now have this ingredient. Hope this helps. It took me a year to figure this out on my own.
Avatar m tn Can someone please tell me what other creams do the same job as fucidin cream, I want an OTC cream for folliculitus on my penis? The active ingredient is fusidic acid 2%. The other ingredients are butylhydroxyanisole (E320), cetyl alcohol, glycerol, liquid paraffin, polysorbate 60, potassium sorbate, purified water and white soft paraffin.
Avatar m tn I remember changing his food about 2 years ago to a natural choice brand from Hills brand. He has a small like stinky feet that only I can smell. Goes away with a bath. Tried many shampoos and skin treatments but no luck. After I take antihistamine I can't smell my dog for a while. So it's with out a doubt an allergy. Triggers my asthma bad too. Once he had fleas and that set off my allergies terrible. It's my allergy is from his skin I think. Won't give away, too attached.
Avatar f tn You need Benadryl or an antihistamine to reduce the allergic reaction. The chapsticks won't do much. You should feel noticeably better taking the antihistamine. Whatever that cereal was--- no more!
Avatar f tn Some of them broke open but nothing comes out. I have tries benedryl, cortozone 10 liquid, hydrocortozone cream, chlor trimeton, aveeno oatmeal bath. Nothing is helping the itching, I can't sleep at night because the itch is so severe, and it's getting worse.
