antibiotics while nuvaring

I've had the nuvaring for a few months now. Ever since I started using it I've had one UTI, and a kidney infection that was so severe I was hospitalized with a fever of 104. I don't remove my nuvaring to have a period (my doctor said it was completely fine to take out the old one and insert a new one to prevent period.) I take it out usually before sex and wash my hands and rinse the ring off before re-inserting it.

I am using the nuvaring and have been since July. I took antibiotics about 6 weeks ago for a cough. I was suppose to start my period on Jan 9th. I started on the 4th but it was only spotting that day then nothing since. I've been having alot of pregnancy symptoms and need some advice. Has this happened to anyone else?

Gotcha.. I guess my point is that I highly doubt you are pregnant because Nuvaring prevents pregnancies. You had said above "the nuva ring is not really effective as far as protecting against pregnancy..." And that is just totally inaccurate. I just wanted to make sure you knew that. It sounds to me like the brownish blood may be your period, When you take nuvaring out, it is meant to "prompt" AF.. Maybe your Dr.

I just started the Nuvaring 3 weeks ago. I'll be taking out my first one tomorrow and inserting a new one right away. I think I've used it correctly so far. I inserted it on the first day of my period, and even waited an additional 7 days just to be sure it had kicked in before having sex without another form of protection. Since starting, I've had alot of nausea, diarrhea, dark brown discharge, some cramping, and extreme mood changes.

We had sex on Sunday before I was due to put my nuvaring in that day and all was normal. Sunday night, I inserted my nuvaring and starting monday I have had the worst vagina odor ever. I smelled it Monday, washed it and went on my way but it doesn't go away. It is not a fishy smell, it is a foul rotten smell. My boyfriend and I were having sex last night and he smelled it and asked me about it.

I was on the pill for a while and the same thing happened. What wound up working for you?

I have been on the nuvaring for three months now, yesterday at work while in the bathroom i noticed a small amount of brownish blood on the toilet paper . I normally have this type of blood at the beginning of my period. I experienced this while the nuvaring was still in, but thought it was just breakthrough bleeding. I went home on break and checked my calendar and realized i should have taken the nuvaring out the day before.

I had sex while i wasn’t on the NuvaRing but he said he pulled out. I put the NuvaRing in the week I usually get my period so i know I’d go a month without my period. i’m having cramps like period cramps now. Could that be signs of a pregnancy or is that okay?

if you suffer from alot of spotting or breakthrough bleeding while on the nuvaring it is not normal. My dr figures the hormones were too low for me.

Also is it unsafe to take planB while on NuvaRing?

I was on the NuvaRing for 3 months straight and used it to skip my cycle. After the 3rd or 4th week I would take it out & put in a new ring. While doing this I still bled either light or really heavy. I stopped using the NuvaRing the week before Thanksgiving. My husband & I started trying to make a baby soon after taking the ring out. I have not had a cycle since i’ve taken the NuvaRing out and it’s going on a month now.

i bought a test for the hell of it and it said PREGNANT! i was in complete shock because i had been on the nuvaring for a while! i used at end of JULY, AUGUST, SEPTEMBER and found out i was pregnant in october!!! birth control is never 100 % and i am proof cause i never messed up with my nuvaring the second go around!

Many people have experienced pains and light bleeding while having intercourse and using nuvaring. It seems to affect everyone differently, but it's very likely the nuvaring is the source of your problems. I would suggest trying a different form of birth control, as this one is obviously not for you.

) Just use another method of course if you take antibiotics while on it because just like pills, it can be ineffective combined with antibiotics.

I just got off the nuvaring and when should I get pregnant bc me and my husband is trying to have a baby now....

Just wondering if anyone has gotten pregnant on the nuvaring? Oh and if when you put it back in are you suppose to do it at the same time of day too?? I know you are suppose to put it in on the same day, not sure about the same time? I don't think I've been putting it in at the same time of day. I had a little cramping around the time I SHOULD have been ovulating. Didn't really think anything of it at the time.

Theres always a possibility of being pregnant when having unprotected sex, even if you're on birth control. You're supposed to start Nuvaring during the first 5 days of your period for it to be effective immediately otherwise you aren't protected for around 7 days. The best thing to do is not stress and get a test done.

The area itchs and it almost feels like a yeast infection, but there is no odor. I have been on Nuvaring for several years. I know I do not have an STD beause I have been to the OBGYN twice. I was due to take my nuvaring out on the 25th Nov 2011, so i did so. ((we have regular unprotected sex while on nuvaring)). My partner and I, same one, again had unprotected sex on the 27th Nov 2011 while nuvaring was NOT in place since i took it out on 25 Nov 2011. After the encounter, i peed like i normally do.

I just started on Nuvaring & my doctor had instructed me to put it in on the first & take it out on the 26th of each month. While this makes it easier to remeber when to take in or out, will it change the effectiveness of the medicine? Has anyone ever heard of this method? Is anyone currently practicing this same method? Bottom line is this safe & effective to practice?
