The vet has tested them for Gardia and Coccidia (both negative), they took antibiotics just in case the tests were not accurate, and they still have diarrhea. They are not gaining any weight and I'm getting concerned. They weigh a kilo each... I found an article on Tritrichomonas Foetus (www.cvm.ncsu.edu/docs/PDFS/gookin/ownersguide_tfoetus_revised042808.pdf) and it seems to be what they are plagued with. I can't seem to find a vet that's ever heard of this protozoan organism!

I made Rosemary Veal burgers with VT extra sharp cheddar cheese. Pasta & potato salad with grilled veggies. So much yum!!

Her food this week is Veal, Pork, Beef with veal heart, veal liver, pork fat, pork kidney with parsley, kale and peas (she loves!). To this I add cartilage, herbal calcium, psyllium, and every 5 meals I add one capsule of omega 3 (which is split between my 2 cats). I also give her Immuni-DMG Liquid when she has any issues (ears itching etc.). Her water dish is glass, food dishes are china, her litter is BlueBuffalo all natural walnut (so no artificial nasties to be allergic to).

try montmorillonite edible clay living clay just half a tea spoon in water give it to cat with plastic spoon mix in plastic or ceramic " no stainless " just plastic jar shake it and give it will get rid of many bacteria in cats system and get pup problem fixed and lose stools...too. I use homeopathic stomach ache for tommy of kitty and it works wonders with mine. She loves the clay. ONe day she got sick she had diarrhea and felt bad after the clay she was playing and acting pain free.

My latest protein craving is fish. My father in law fishes catfish all the time. Lol plus husband is going fishing with him tomorrow so there will be more in the freezer soon .

I got iron pills from Walmart .. They're small like birth control pills .. In a green bottle ..

Kflex is safe- two antibiotics to AVOID in pregnancy would be- deoxycycline (spell?) or tetracycline, which are known to have risks. Otherwise- if the dr prescribing the antibiotics isn't your OB be sure to let your OB know that you were prescribed a new medication, they may have their own preference of what you should and should not take- and always ask the pharmacist if you are unsure about any medication..

I don't think they have antibiotics in liquid form only supplement and vitamins. I believe if it is a fluid they have to give it thru an I'V.

i was prescribed doxycycline when i had symptoms of lyme which i've had twice in the last seven years. i immediatly had a blood test which was negative. i no longer have any symptoms however i've read that a negative test taken so soon after the first symptoms can be false. my question is can i continue the antibiotics just to be on the safe side?

Thank You Nan. Really don't know if he is a hepatologist, The practice is Digestive Health Specialist. He is suppose to be a liver specialist. Really much of the delay in any kind of treatment is because I was still drinking beer. Went in to the hospital the first of November and am now alcohol free. Never have been a heavy drinker, no liquor but would drink a 6 pack every night. Did not go through withdraws but have quit all alcohol and am not even missing it..

I'm on Norpace XR (anti-arrythmic) for Afib and I'm not supposed to take any of the antibiotics ending in "mycin" or Biaxin. Another post on this board said they landed in ICU after doing just that. It can cause a fatal heart rhythm. Another recent post suggested that one should double check with the doctor and/or pharmacist because there is some data that says some antibiotics are more likely to cause trouble than others.
