219241 tn?1413537765 Wondering if anyone has had to travel overseas, whilst taking their thyroid medication. I know the rule is to keep them refrigerated. How did you go about it? Do airlines have a policy on people with medication needing to be kept cold? I haven't been able to find anything on it online. Our major airline QANTAS said when I called them, "oh just let the flight attendants know when you get there" I am not happy with that answer!
Avatar f tn m nervous because I will be 6 months pregnant, but the tickets are non-refundable, and its for a wedding that I would hate to miss..Its not until October but does anyone have any thoughts/suggestions about traveling while pregnant?
Avatar f tn My in laws are overseas in morocco. They have not met me yet except over Skype. My husband is trying to.decide if we go there when I'm 7 months pregnant or if they come here after the baby is born. with each situation. The water in morocco makes me sick. I don't know the language and if something happened would be difficult to find the right Dr. If his parents came here... they are elderly. Moroccan Hospitality is very much expected and with a newborn may poise challeneges.
Avatar n tn Its so upsetting for me, it meant so much and it doesn mean the same for him. Last year, it was the same situation, he didn't want to travel over new years because he wanted to spent it with his friends. He always wants me to be there too, but I just feel like I'm second fiddle to his friends, and after three years I thought I'd mean more.

Avatar f tn Ok weird question. I'm almost 36 weeks due around Dec 14th. I have to travel overseas around Dec15th/20th for a family situation. Question is can I be induced or have my membranes stripped around the beginning of Dec so that I will have sometime to recover from the birth before I travel.

Avatar m tn I'm sorry for the situation. I would suggest asking the local doctors where is the nearest surgeon who might be able to perform this operation. Of course, a lot is going to depend on whether your friend's health is stable enough for him to travel. That would be another question. I wish him the best. You are kind to try to help him.
1840402 tn?1355432565 I took antibiotics awhile back for an upper respiratory infection, and baby is still doing well, highly active and everything. I know it's hard, but I do think the doctor wouldn't give you anything that was dangerous for the baby.
Avatar f tn I suddenly had developed wheezing and coughing after exposure to some toxic paint plus for a couple of years when I climb stairs I am short of breath. He said to take meds for a month at one dose and for another month at a half dose and to thereafter see another pulmonologist. He prescribed three meds, one ('Nasonex') that was already taking based on an ENT's recommendation. I am able to find that one easily in many countries where I travel.
Avatar m tn I am all for travel, any time I can go I will. The scenario you paint is an interesting one. My impulse was to say I would go, since I was improving. But then you threw in the 3rd world country part and that makes me change my answer, somewhat. Can the travel plans be changed without much financial penalties? Is there support in this country to get help if your MS has a crisis of some sort?
Avatar n tn We are hoping to travel overseas with my little one [ 1 1/2] for the first time - it's about 8 + 4hrs flying time. Could any advise me on how should we prepare for this journey to make it comfortable for all 3 of us.
Avatar m tn I am somewhat new to this site and I must say it has been extremly helpful for me to read about other's experiences. I beleive I have already learned so much. I am a 50 year old male who had my first episode of A-fib 7 years ago. I have been having one or two episodes per year usually lasting anywhere from a few minutes to an hour or so and they have always self-resolved. I do get PACs, sometimes I can go for weeks without any then they crop up with varying degrees of frequency.

Avatar n tn t really bother me. However, I travel frequently (long hauls to Asia 16-30 hours of flight time. Last month 3X to Asia). I was scheduled to leave for Asia that week . After the PVD and discussing it with my retinal doctor, I opted not to go. Most places I travel have excellent medical care (Seoul. HK, Shanghai, etc ). HOWEVER, I'm terrified of retinal detachment in flight. Does anyone else in this forum have any experience or guidance?
Avatar f tn If so how many weeks were you? We just found out were expecting but have already paid for an overseas honeymoon in october.
Avatar f tn I live and work overseas 2-4 years at time and when I'm in the USA I'm always having to travel, so it's hard to stay with one chiropractor during my time there. I have seen several chiropractors and have also had massage therapy overseas. The last time I saw a chiropractor in the USA, he said the x-rays showed the top part of my neck was a "military neck" (too straight) and the bottom part was a little "pinched".
Avatar n tn How can we transport a 3 month supply of insulin, keeping it refrigerated at all times and not have any additional carry on itmes, such as a cooler? The insulin will probably have to be kept cool for about 12 hours in total. Are there companies that specialize in such overseas transport of medical supplies?
