antibiotics

Avatar n tn I have not had the flu jab but i have had a bad cold for the last 2 weeks and hav had antibiotics which i can only think is the cause of my orange tongue.
Avatar n tn My daughter, 7 had confirmed h1n1 and it was very mild for her. She slept in our bed for 4 nights hacking all over us and we never got it. I'm hearing most folks over 35 aren't getting it, as we've probably been exposed years ago.
Avatar n tn Personal experience within my family, has shown the H1N1 to be extremely aggressive and withing 12-36hrs of first symptoms two of my children were on full asthma meds including inhaled steroids and antibiotics for secondary infection & Tamiflu. This, with 103 temps and every symptom listed by the CDC. They tested rapid test + for A type which most likely was H1N1 in lack of community outbreak and too early for seasonal flu.
611067 tn?1458591483 I've been away for awhile because I caught the dreaded H1N1 virus and even before that was feeling sick a lot. Now I have pneumonia and just started and antibiotic yesterday. . .but all my cats have also gotten sick. First Katie had runny eyes and was lethargic and seemed to be feeling yucky. Then Roxy seemed to have the same problem, then Charlies, then Rusty and now Abby. They all had the watery eyes and the same eye seemed to be bothering them.
Avatar m tn what do we have to look for now first signs what we have to do so we dont infect whole family .
Avatar f tn I had the flu shot for the last 2 years with no ill effects. I cannot find anyone who has the H1N1 shot to offer currently, but I plan on getting it when it is available. I actually have had to be treated for flu complications each flu season 2002-2007, up until I began taking the flu shot.(I have Hashi's but didn't know it.) My children are 8 and 9, I had them each get the nasal mist for H1N1 with no ill side effects.
Avatar n tn I would just like to say, ive got this same thing at the moment, and the pain is tight and horrendous, i was given antibiotics for bronchitis, i also have tried steaming, but im very congested and cant break up the phlegm, maybe its the congestion causing this pain .. i just wish the pain would go away. Also my throat is very dry, maybe its a bad bought off flu?
Avatar f tn my baby is 9 months and she had the h1n1 shot yesterday..she got fever of of that..then today she vomit once but it was a lot....then i was giving her a bath and she looke like she was falling as sleep..is that normal since she got the h1n1 vaccine? This discussion is related to 8 month old baby fainted in my arms and we don't know why.
Avatar f tn My gut was telling me not to get the H1n1 shot because of the autoimmune issues on my family but where I work was strongly encouraging you get. I feel that the shot turned the ms on so to speak. Next I have a gut feeling I'm going to go with it.
Avatar f tn I had a h1n1 vaccination novartis -preservative free back in Nov 15th to be exact. I received hot sensations in arms shoulders neck from a preservative free vaccination. I have tingles, numness on extremities throught the night since 5 days after innoculation. During the day I have had it change from the hot sensations-alomost gone. To numbness in pinky finger, left foot for 2 weeks to right foot most recently for 2 weeks. Hope there will be an end soon to this madness.
163305 tn?1333668571 One of the reasons that a H1N1 shot may not be a good idea for transplant patients especially, is that all transplant patients have to take anti-rejection Meds (Meds to suppress their own immune systems). The vaccine is designed to allow stimulation of Anti bodies, but that the vaccines is held in check in non Transplantees infection wise by their own Immune System . In a transplant patient the H1N1 is , infection wise , not a good idea.
Avatar m tn i got the H1N1 a week ago. no problem. about 6-days later, i had the diarhea, nausea, headaches, nasal drainage, cough, chills. no fever. of course these symptoms i have on/off every year. too, i've had the pins/needles/cold-pins on my left face on and off and a new place on left side of head. mentally, just felt kinda "not with-it" for lack of better adjective. so off i go to the emergency room today out at the air force base as it is free for vets.
151928 tn?1275707337 re concerned that the prophylactic (preventitive) use of Tamiflu and other antivirals may contribute to a more virilant strain of H1N1, just like what has happened with the overuse of antibiotics for non-viral purposes (ie, prescribing antibiotics for colds and not viruses).
Avatar m tn I am terrified of a false positive. Would having a throat infection two weeks ago and recently taking antibiotics cause a false positive. Also, I had a flu vaccine and an H1N1 vaccine back in late December. Has enough time passed to rule out this affecting the test? Thanks!
982641 tn?1252025412 Some health officials are now recommending that people get three flu shots this flu season. The first two shots for H1N1 specifically, and one shot for the seasonal flu. However, the shots won’t be available in the US until mid October. I am taking steps to prepare myself now, instead of waiting on the vaccines.
688450 tn?1259468734 HAVE ANY OF YOUR YOUNG CHILDREN EXPERIENCED ANY OF THE ADVERSE REACTIONS TO THE H1N1 VACCINE THAT I HAVE BEEN READING ABOUT ALL OVER THIS FORUM? I HOPE NOT, AND IF SO WHAT KIND OF REMEDIES ARE YOU ADMINISTERING TO THEM? WHAT DOES YOUR PEDIATRICIAN SAY TO DO? HAS ANY OF YOUR DRS. OWNED UP AND ADMITTED THAT IT IS OBVIOUS TO THEM THAT IT IS THE H1N1 VACCINE THAT IS CAUSING THESE SYMPTOMS?
167 tn?1374173817 Two of my daughters HAVE tested positive for H1N1. I am 31.5 weeks pregnant. OB says to take Tamiflu and start today, but Tamiflu is not recommended for pregnancy based on unknown reactions to unborn children. Hubby and I don't know what decision is the best for us. Any opinions? The prescription is waiting for me...just so scared either way. I am leaning towards taking my chances and not taking it, but that is not the recommendation. What if I harm my baby by taking it?
Avatar f tn I do alot of browsing silently. Anyhow, yesterday I got my flu shot. I get them every year. Just for those who may not know, the H1N1 vaccine is included in the seasonal flu vaccine this year. Last year, I got both shots and had no problems w/the H1N1 vax. I just wanted to let you know that in case you might be wondering about the H1N1 part. In fact, I really didn't hear of any ill effects in the news from anybody taking the H1N1 shot.
478429 tn?1265244387 I just want to let you know that even if you get any type of flu syptoms the docs will not test for the H1N1 anyway since they say it is too risky for people to be exposed to the virus and just give out the tamiflu as a precaution. So, I am letting you all know that it really is not that severe of a virus unless you have major health issues. But remember it is everyone's personal decision whether they get the vaccine or not.
Avatar f tn I am someone who also got a seasonal flu vaccine at a time when I was pregnant, and had no side effects or issues from it, either. Unlike other flus, H1N1 (the illness, not the shot) has been very dangerous for pregnant women, so please don't take the threat lightly. The shot stings a little bit, is all I found.
571042 tn?1271447141 about research and her opinions about the H1N1, but she said there is not enough out there for her to tell us either way. She also said that H1N1 will effect school-aged kids 5-17. I'm not ready to put something in him that I don't know enough about.
203342 tn?1328737207 Please pray for little Aaron who has the H1N1 flu and was admitted in the hospital. He's had a couple of seizures too from my understanding. He's not quite 2 years old and I know his parents must be very worried. Thank you.
