For several years, public health officials have been concerned that gonorrhea, one of the most prevalent STDs in the world, might become resistant to the last widely available antibiotics used to treat it, a class of drugs called cephalosporins.

Lead investigators Anand Mehta and Timothy Block report in the forthcoming Journal of Virology (February 2008) their discovery that the blood of most -- if not all -- people they tested with a diagnosis of liver cirrhosis contained high levels of an antibody that recognizes a carbohydrate sugar commonly found on bacteria. Detection of this antibody in the blood correlates very well with a diagnosis of increasing fibrosis.
The scientists caution that the discovery does not suggest the presence of chronic disease, nor does it support extended use of antibiotics to treat Lyme disease in humans. Their findings were reported March 31 by the journal Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy."

There is so much more to recovery then just w/d's. It's also about self discovery, changing lifestyle for many and finding the deeper reasons to our use. The one positive about going through this is that I got to learn a lot about myself, I probably would have not known. Although this is a personal issue, if anyone would like to share that would be great. What have you learned about yourself the most through all of this and have you found your deeper issues for using.
I must admit, done this once myself. I had no repercussions other than the horror of the discovery! Ya, that's nasty!! But if you have a fever or are in severe pain, definitely follow up with your doctor. Other issues that may arise is a bacterial vaginosis situation which requires antibiotics. But you'll know if a bad smell lingers for weeks. You should be fine but for peace of mind, see your doctor.
I developed severe bardycardia (36 bpm), which is what eventually led to the discovery of the lymes. I was wondering if anyone has had the severe bradycardia and after treatment for lymes the bradycardia is completely gone? I am currently on week 5 of the antibiotics and my heart rate is now in the mid to upper 50's at rest, a great improvement. I have been here for a couple weeks and was wondering if it will continue to improve as i have 7 more weeks on the antibiotics.

She only told me I would need high doses of antibiotics during my labor, which I'm not interested in doing at all, as we have prepared for a complete unmedicated and natural birth.
