The redness in steroid induced rosacea takes some time to go away. You can get yourself prescribed antibiotics like testracyclines which help in decreasing the inflammation a bit. Tacrolimus combined with oral antibiotics also helps a lot. You can discuss these treatment options with your dermatologist.

There are other treatments for severe form of rosacea like laser treatment, photodynamic therapy, oral antibiotics, and retinoids which you could discuss with your physician.

My face itches and feels tight practically everyday and seems to come and go in bursts of intensity. Some days it feels completely normal and then instantly becomes itchy and tight feeling. I don't flush with alcohol and can tolerate being in the sun. Alcohol actually makes the itching feel better.

Perioral dermatitis is a chronic papulopustular and eczematous facial dermatitis.Treatment consists of oral antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs. A mild soap or soap substitute, such as Dove or Cetaphil should be used for washing. Scrubbing should be avoided.
If the symptoms are not controlled by topical antibiotics,then oral antibiotics may be needed.Pls consult your dermatologist and discuss this with him.

So the only option I have is to avoid triggers and wait for the Rosacea to get worse. But waiting for it to get worse is so difficult for me.
Having said that, I am not really much concerned about the red part. I am very very very very concerned about the potential disfigurements of the nose.
I understand that the extra growth tissue can be removed by laser.
I was diagnosed with rosacea last year and the bumps seem to get worse each time. I have been using the microgel as prescribed by my dermatologist and that seems to help. I also use a cortisole cream which makes them go away but then they appear over a few days. The rash is very annoying and seems to have a mind of its own. I wish there was something to make it go away.... for a good. Any advice?

I haven't opened the link you put on your post. Also don't know where you live or why a dermatologist couldn't see your mom.
What I can share is that I've suffered from Rosacea (it can look like many things), an inherited skin condition since the day I turned 60.
It is a bacterial infection, so doctors recommend treating with antibiotics, taken orally. I am unable to tolerate the medication, so deal with it by applying lotion twice a day.
