Avatar m tn I am interested in doctors who practice holistic medicine, evidence-based medicine (EBM), and anti-aging medicine (life extension or LE). I also want to avoid quacks. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holistic_health http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evidence-based_medicine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_extension How do I find such a doctor? Are there organizations / websites that rate doctors in these areas? Any recommendations for such a website? Or, can you recommend a doctor in the DC area?

Avatar f tn What vitamins can I take to prevent aging? Exclusively the face and neck areas. If there is not a vitamin, can herbs help and what kind? Any Natural Preventions?
Avatar n tn If it were me I would probably continue taking the klonopin (for a short period) and get myself into some good psychotherapy to help address underlying issues. (Unless the anxiety is a result of a medication issue which one could perhaps expect to resolve itself with good treatment planning and management.) I personally wouldn't consider taking any other psychiatric med (unless it was indicated for another psych disorder, like bipolar for example). Headaches can be a challenge.
Avatar f tn I am 47 and have had them for years do to good old aging. I do not know your history. If you have not seen an opthamologist in awhile it could not hurt MS or no MS. If you are concerned you can bring it up to your Neurologist. Not being a medical professional I would hate to give you the wrong advice.
1052703 tn?1266279337 Just as some miscellaneous information, my GP said that if you take ibuprofen or an anti-inflammatory just prior to your period you can reduce blood loss by a third. I'm younger than you but I guess the same still applies to you. Your doctor may have discussed this with you. I did a Wikipedia search on anemia awhile back and it mentioned hypochondria as a ... not sure if it was a complication but something anyway. Don't beat yourself up about worrying about your health.
Avatar f tn I haven't heard of any of this anti-aging stuff with these two supplements. I use Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) to help with peripheral neuropathy. I noticed that it really does cut down on the amount of neuropathy I experience. When I did some online research for Acetyl L Carnitine and neuropathy, since it's also used. The difference is that it is recommended that people check with their doctors before using the Acetyl L Carnitine.
Avatar f tn Go to ulta and talk to their estheticians for a professional recommendation. While pregnant do stay away from retinols which are anti aging. They can cause birth defects. But look for something that has hyaluronic acid in it which is a natural chemical our body makes which helps retains moisture by 1000x its weight. So it is super hydrating which will help reduce and prevent wrinkles.
1182699 tn?1297574784 That's a good question, I've wondered about this often. Ibuprofen is a non steroidal anti inflammatory (NSAID). One of my guesses on what might play a role in causing some varieties of benign ectopics like PACs/PVCs is some sort of low level inflammation process either with the heart muscle or pericardium. There's quite a few reasons why I suspect it, I won't go into detail because I'm too tired right now.
Avatar f tn Before using any serum, I'd check with your doctor to see what they recommend. Has your doctor given you any advice on what you can do to treat the alopecia and fast aging?
Avatar m tn No. You would be taking essentially 2 of the same medications as thhey are both anti psychiotics. Are these medications prescribed? That is an awfully dangerous dose of each of them. They should not be combined and you can experience EPS symtoms from that high of a dose.
Avatar f tn We had both areas x-rayed and the x-rays did not show a fracture in either area. We have applied ice and heat and also given her anti-inflamatory medicine for 8 weeks. She tried jogging again and it is hurting again and seems to be worse. I have made an appointment with a podiatrist. Do these area take a long time to heal or do you think there might be stress fractures that are not showing up on the x-rays?
Avatar n tn I do not have insurance any longer so therefore stop taking the medicine. What can I replace it with that is over the counter . This discussion is related to Pain throughout both legs after bypass surgery.
Avatar n tn I suggest the use of products that are hypoallergenic and also with organic ingredients such as vitamin C and E. Anti aging products may also be beneficial especially for women with fine lines and wrinkles. A healthy diet, decrease intake of fatty food, cessation of smoking, adequate sleep and daily exercise will ensure not just great skin but also a healthy body in general.
Avatar m tn She has already been confined and refuses to take drugs and medications, thus the medical system has tried to help her and yes they are going to give her pills to calm her, right now Its what sh needs and they wont do anything else until the get her stable on Anti Psychotics and then they will look at treating her.
Avatar f tn Can you tell me what is going on to expand the indications and approval of the anti-VEGF drugs so that there is full Medicare and insurance coverage. Lucentis and Macugen are only FDA-approved for wet AMD, yet these drugs are useful in many other retinal inflammatory conditions, often the only treatment available for these problems, yet insurance won't pay.
Avatar m tn You might have become aware of entopic phenomenta (read section on wikipedia) or there could be some area of posterior vitreous detachment (part of aging) and some vitreous detachment. That's all I can tell you.
